    Jim I cannot thank you enough for all of you’re hard work and wisdom. Thank you from the bottom of my heart- I went from unable to crawl to the toilet completely bed bound to now getting on with my usual daily activities. I love you’re calming voice and listening to you daily helps dissolve all the sensations. I’m learning to relax my mind and body with you. Please always be around x

      How wonderful, and congratulations! When that happened to me too - I felt like a happy toddler. Wow, upright - cool! No more crawling to the can or fainting and falling backwards into a full bathtub. What a lot you accomplished - and I bet it feels good!

    I once wrote: "First you Feel, Then You Reveal, Then You Heal" so fully agree with "Feel it to heal it." Well said! (I also loved your comment on feelings: "Embrace it to erase it." I was disabled for 20 years when the doctors prescribed benzos for fibro pain - I think in no small part because the medications numb and sedate your feelings. When I tapered OFF them, I began to recover. As I learned to face old grief and trauma, then let OUT the trapped emotions by writing and dancing them out I improved massively, literally going from crawling - my bp was so dangerously low at times - to dancing, and from housebound and bedridden to active and functioning. I still have some pain, and think somatic work will help me recover completely. Great somatic tracking video, and thanks, Jim!

      @@thedancingdivaofdaviestree2320 please can you tell me how you got over the CFS/M.E? I'm still really depleted & struggling, just passed the 11yr mark.
      Tried allsorts & spent a fortune for very little success & still no sustainable normal life & 99% housebound. Yes had multiple trauma, deep upsets & abuses most of my life.
      I take all manner of good supplements, organic foods when possible, quality water & do mindful practices, meditations, EFT/TAPPING & more....
      Had lots of grief recently too on top & have figured out I'm also a HSE highly sensitive empath personality type.
      Any new suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks 🌻💝💐

    Hey Jim. With your training program do you also focus on releasing trauma from the body? Is this exercise that sort of thing? I know there are brain training courses out there that don’t include releasing trauma. I’m not wholly sure how it’s done but I think it’s important? Stabbing in the dark here. Toni 😊

    I've noticed that when I do this exercise, especially when the symptoms are worse, my body's really tense. And it doesn't really ease up. Should I try to relax or just observe this tension like all the other sensations that come and go?

    • @thepainpt
      @thepainpt  3 года назад +4

      Yes in your case definitely just focus on the tension and relax your body physically
      And then let whatever’s moving through you move through you from A mental place that it’s OK and not a problem. Take care

    hi there, practicing this, i tend to be driven by feelings with catastrophic thinking of a situation. Logically, its a waste of.time to determine all is well. My.problem is, i do indulge my tendency to act.
    And essientially i havent succeeded with my own expectation relative to situation, which i cant really hold onto anymore. Different dynamic. Plus my bondage keeps things intact etc.
    my memory responses are strong and difficult to embrace.
    I could be worrying about whether to.solve the situation but its the same memory response etc.

    • @thepainpt
      @thepainpt  3 года назад +6

      Accept from a place that it’s just a memory nothing more. Literally electricity and chemicals. Let it run let it go. You meddling in it or engaging in it is only going to muddle it up further. It’s just thoughts and feelings let them come and let them go!

    I’ve just started being more present with symptoms, emotions & I’m getting a lot of body tremors that can last up to an hour. It comes & goes. And a lot of sadness. Is this just the body processing the energy? It does trigger fear though but I try to just stay present with it all.

      It takes practice. Being attached to an outcome causes hypervigilance and tension which derails the process. I'm getting better at this the more I do it. Paradoxically, the less I expect the more I get.

    • @thepainpt
      @thepainpt  3 года назад +7

      Hi Ann think what can happen and it did with me as well for awhile when doing this is people using the somatic practice with the intention of making something go away. Jean alluded to this in her comment as well. The purpose of the practice is to learn to be ok with what’s arising to reduce fear and worry and concern and let what’s happening happen from a premise it’s ok. Then go about your day with this in your back pocket so you are not freaking out or it worrying about symptoms that might raiseup during the day. This is really mindfulness and studies show it can reduce pain especially If you can see your symptoms as benign versus being something dangerous or wrong that you need to fix. Reach out to me again if you want to do session to look into this more

      It’s about allowing not trying. This process has, with time, allowed me to be painfree. It’s a release valve. Do it with ease and acceptance.

      Hey Ann Allan Gordon just released a podcast That speaks to this feeling practice and being OK with whats coming up. One thing to ponder is if you’re not OK with whats coming up in your body it’s not likely to work well

      Thank you for your reply..
      I am ok with my emotions and sensations that come up and remain neutral/indifferent, but after a couple of weeks of practicing it's very difficult to still be ok.
      Is it not working because I'm afraid to feel my emotions because you want us to be neutral with a sensations to I do that with my emotions too, I guess..
      So you allow the true emotion to come up then let them go....not keep them, right?

    Is it normal to have more pain (burning sensation) while and after relaxing? It demotivates me to keep doing this and actually scares me too. I usually have chronic backpain and weak legs (well, oficially fibromyalgia), but it seems like relaxing my body makes it even worse. Please tell me this is a good sign 🥹

    • @thepainpt
      @thepainpt  2 года назад +1

      Good sign it has the flow first to go. It can easily get worse before it gets better but that’s just because you’re probably been resisting it.
