imagine that airport is 144 sq mi. and my entire COUNTRY is just 166 sq mi. Greetings from Barbados
Avion Express are quite a good operation they are hired by everyone in the summer like Easyjet, Jet2, TUI and was a huge part of Thomas Cook until it collapsed
Similar to SmartLynx Airlines who are chartered by British Airlines.
By far the best RUclipsr I have ever watched going through a very hard time right now and your videos just make me forget everything going on and enjoy a smile 😊
Stay strong brother
An enjoyable old school Noel video. Not overly long in the seeming hunt for more as revenue and much less bumble and repeated information.🎉
New(er) subscriber here, I've seen other comments mentioning this, so I'll go ahead as well... Your casual channel about flying helps my anxiety about flying 🙂 and I fly ALL OF THE TIME. 👏
I used to be anxious flying Bobby, holding on tightly t the armrest when there was turbulence. Not any more. In my case it took a couple of decades to go away.
it is nice that Noel treats everyone the same no matter their job :)
In the 90s Saudi were flying 747s between Jeddah and Riyadh. Very nice in Business for such a short flight. It's still weird to see you doing videos from Saudi it would have been an absolute no-no when I was there.
Used to be a flight nurse in Riyadh in the 90’s out of the airbase in the middle of Riyadh (gulf streams , c130 Lear 55 and helicopters) frequent flyer to Jeddah private aviation terminal plus every other airport in Saudi and the middle east
@@jacquelinewesson1202 Could you film without permission ?
@@bardo0007 it would have been a very bad idea. Jeddah used to have lots of signs saying "no photography" and I wouldnt even poke a video camera out of the car.
@@Spookieham This was for long time ago
@@sultan19h39 mid 90s.
10:43 Circular fields growing crops irrigated by central pivot rotating irrigation using deep aquifer water wells. I used to fly that route a lot in the "worse old days". It's an extremely interesting country but exactly 20 years since I set foot there (I was lucky enough to do a degree in Arabic in London/Egypt '79-'83).
Thanks for the update 👍❤️👍.
Great video Noel the aircraft was not as bad as I thought it would be
I’ve had that pre-ordered food issue with JetStar once. They promptly refunded me once I queried it. The best part was the passive-aggressive apology, which was along the lines of, ‘Sorry our cabin crew didn’t do their job’ 😂
JetStar the Qantas low cost branch? The Australian division or one of the various asian divisions?
Thanks, Noel. 50 flights both ways is phenomenal!
I love watching your videos makes me want to go to all the places that you have been
FYI NAS in Arabic means PEOPLE so it means the People Carrier I think this abbreviations makes a lot of sense to ARABIC speaking people :).
Wow. You've taught me just how behind we are. Beautiful airport
“Oh Dunkin’ Donuts!” 😂 got me
It blows my mind the development of aviation in Saudi; did you get much chance to explore the cities you visited?
Well, they have plenty of dosh to pay for it. Gulf Airlines are typically HEAVILY subsidised.
Educational. I really imagined SAR to be a much more expensive place, but 100$ for a Möwenpick-Hotel and 66$ for the trip is really reasonable.
Really interesting review noel! keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
1:06 - You definitely said Jeddah but at 1:12 you definitely said CHeddah [sic] 🤣
I flew Flynas few times in 2010 and 2011 .. had great Airbus selection
I miss living in Riyadh. I loved it there
Thank you! One of your better videos. Appreciated!
Wow, thanks!
My uncle was a pilot for this airline
as always i enjoyed the flight i always watch you sunday evening after the weekend i do this to relaxe and it helps
It's pleasant you visit Saudi Arabia, I'm a tour guide in JED and I love to show you around here. Cheers.
Another great video Noel! Flynas definitely needs to fix the food situation online though, as it is unacceptable when you have paid for something and then need to do it again.
These videos remind me of my youth visiting my dad in Khamis and Abha Thankyou.😁
I remembered the hotel from your last video. It was absolutely beautiful. The view from the plane was stunning! On short fights it always seemed as if you had maybe just been given your beverage when you had to put it into the rubbish as the plane was starting it's descent...
Chap next to you didn't look too happy with his lot!
The Sydney/Melbourne route has more flights than that per day with Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin.
Great content as always.
Completely forgot that I had taken that photo you showed of Nas Air all those years ago. What a pleasant surprise. Didn’t know that photo still existed on the internet.
You were lucky. Josh Cahill flew on Flynas from Kuwait to Dubai via Riyadh, and they lost his luggage in the connection in Riyadh. He praised the cabin crew, though, and his luggage eventually arrived. Flynas has frequent flights between major cities in the Middle East, and there was soon another flight where to put Josh's luggage within a few hours.
Their Neo’s has a pretty good leg room actually, the problem is that they lease a lot of aircraft’s so the experience may vary , I once boarded a lion air 737-800 on a short hop from riyadh to jeddah , and they also do a European style Business class for international flights like to Dubai , overall they’re decent for flights max of 3 hours
The leg room will be chosen by the airline. The aircraft type has no say in the matter !
I was going across the tarmac on a packed bus in Riyadh , standing beside the doors….they opened !!! 😮😮😅
2:03 - but wait, you found one just 14 seconds ago, dunkin donuts even has a coffee cup as their logo.... :)
I'm watching this video while flying on an Air Canada Dreamliner.
Anyone else notice the slightly misspelt road sign at 44secs saying "Norht Terminal"....
Another great vid btw.
Not long been out of the uk and your already calling biscuits, "cookies" lol
Thank you for Flying Flynas. 😀
Good timing, timed perfectly for the F1 race in Jeddah today
Great vlog as always! The SIDs out of most airports in Saudia I have heard are very streight forward. Even I can fly them… It say. When airborn, fly rwy heading until passing 5000 ft. Then contact Saudia dep. Control. Keep up the good work. Be safe!
confusing airport, that 😅 I was there last November and we almost missed out flight because there’s A and B gates like 1000 ft from each other
They seem to be a good choice for low cost travel within Saudi
If you could review new Qantas Food and Lounge that be great. I’m planning going to Europe next year flying Qantas A380 Sydney to London via Singapore.
Flying with them from Jeddah to Dubai in October. Looking forward to it , has never heard of them until I booked it
Too good Video Noel, Awesome
50 flights per day each way. I'm so glad my 125cc bike has to have a catalyst for the ~500 miles its done in the last 7 years knowing that. It feels great knowing the world will be saved thanks to all the effort I'm putting in.
Saudis don't have to care about the Climate Change hoax. They know the Western countries will come crawling back to them for more oil and gas.
Your presentations are always highly interesting to watch. Thank you very much and take care.
Glad you like them!
I've been following your vids for a long time, I never thought you would walk a passage in an Airport that I walked, my life got more complete now haha
I live in Las Vegas, that airport is just bananas! Wow!! 😮
Thanks for sharing your experience, noel! Was supposed to land in jeddah last year for my umrah but my travel agent made a last min change to medina. But it was still a pleasant flight with saudia from kuala lumpur. I agree with you about the view thru out the flight. I was so fascinated with the desert! Maybe this year, will perform umrah again and i hope i'll get the chance to experience the kul-jed route 🙂
Jeddah and cheddar are pronounced it differently
Welcome to saudi 🇸🇦🇸🇦🇸🇦🇸🇦
Thank you for sharing you flight here. That looked not too bad at all flying just an hour and a few minutes. Nice!! You made me laugh to know that Dunkin Donuts is all the way there as well. My Chicago coffee store is there!!! Wow!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Fair price , too bad about the leg room .
Only 20 mins to terminal ? :-)
Another great video! I probably have binge watched all of your stuff and can't wait until it's Sunday to wach your video! I am a big fan of your work which , together with Josh Cahills work inspired me to make videos aswell!❤️ #teamnoel
Nice to see KSA promoted this way - development over the decades there is fantastic to see...well done to them👍🏻👍🏻
I wish you can highlight more about your visit inside saudi 😁
Hi Mr. Philips, great video, I always look forward to your weekly videos and this video certainly did not disappoint. With regards to FlyNas, hmm... Jeddah airport looks like a nice airport very modern and it's nice when there are friendly staff around, the airline itself ok, decent, the legroom could be better and I have to say I would not have been pleased if I heard that my order had not gone through and I would have sent a complaint to the airline, it may be a couple of dollars but still, money don't grow on trees. FlyNas was supposed to fly here to my home in SEZ about 2-3 years ago but nothing happened, the operating date came and went and nothing, Anyways if I were to compare that airline review to another I have seen for Rex Airlines in Australia, I would choose Rex any day.
Hopefully the communication will be improved regarding the bottled water orders because collectively over sometime those few dollars can mount up to be a pretty large figure.
I did noticed European cabin crew on FLYNAS. I wonder why. It's a bit unusual. And not to mention foreign male cabin crew. Where are the local Saudi male crew ?
OMG I WENT TO THAT GATE WHEN I WAS AT JEDDAH
Make sure to have some local coffee. Saudi Arabia, is the number 1 in world for that. Besides that, they are the number 1 oil supplier to the whole world with OPEC. Please be careful Noel, USA went to war in 1991 with them with Iraq including them twice. The region is still unsettled but booming from all the economic development. Noel, DUBAI is amazing! You think that airport is nice wait to see you that one.
Just like how people bing watch Games of Thrones I have been binge watching your videos because I find them hilarious and very few things make me laugh these days........My favorite clip so far was when you travelled from Manila to Bangkok on a Cebu Plane that normally takes 300 people yet they changed the layout to fit 460 people......Because I live in Australia it costs a lot to travel anywhere so I am always looking at the low cost options......My husband and grown kids are always afraid of what sort of plane, ship or bus I might have booked them on just to save a bit of money.
Then you should see Noel's flight on the same Cebu Pacific overcrowded and tight A330 but EIGHT HOURS all the way to Dubai... It was not by chance that his second time on Cebu Pacific, Noel took a shorter flight and on the emergency exit row. He learns from his mistakes...
The person sitting next to Noel was either praying or wanted Noel to stop talking.
It can be anything like an headache or fear of flight.
Avoid this Airlines by all means ❌️ I was escorting my father last monday (XY-576) and what I have experienced was the most horrible thing I could ever think of!
- While in the check-in queue, employee behind a counter decided to leave her job and never return back to the desk!
- Another employee came-in "Abdulmajid elsaadi" and started yelling at Passengers and intimidating them.
- I was even threatened to be detained if I opened my mouth!
- They called the police in another passenger in the queue because he wanted to record the threatening of the employee!
OH MY GOD! I have traveled everywhere and have never seen such a thing in my life!!!!
Thanks for this vlog. Fly safe. Happy Sunday from California. 2023.
Thanks for watching!
Great video Noel!!!! 2 thumbs up my friend!!!!
Thank you 👍
One thing I do have to say though -- Oh, Dunkin Donuts! LOL. Love it.
I wonder what the walk on the tarmac and bus ride to the terminal would be like for passengers when its Summer and the outside temp is 120 degrees!
Celsius😊
It’s less than a minute's walk from the plane to the bus, not a big issue.
People there are pretty used to such heats, no issues dealing with it at all, even for just few minutes
It’s a dry heat….🔥
Buses had aircon. The very first time I stepped off a plane in Saudi it was 11:30 pm and 35 degrees. Nearly floored me.
Great video as usual.
Noel. When you find the coffe machine named "LaCimbali", NEVER take an americano!!
Get the "espresso", it will be very similar to the Italian caffè! And if it's not enough, take TWO espresso!!
Cheers!
I flew on Flynas' 320 neos. The legroom was fantastic.
Did I hear you right? 50 flights a day to Riyadh on one route alone! Wow, won’t feel as guilty running my 6 litre V6 now 🙈
Yes it's a incredibly busy route.
Noel Many Thanks for your reviews! I love all of them & your sense of humour! Many Thanks & wishing you many happy flights,Enjoy✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️👍👍🛩🛩🛩🛩🛩🛩
Many thanks!
Always wondered where the cheese comes from! Great video.
Reminds me of Allegiant Air here in the U.S. Thank you for your review.
They used to do flights to Gatwick
Flynas is the best low cost airline in the region and I have travelled extensively in India, UAE.
Good morning Noel - great chatting with you over in Houston. I was the guy in the Cubs jersey. When do you think you’ll be doing RUclips shorts?
Saw you fly there last week I anticipated you to be doing the f1, gutted u didn’t
So if I did my math right if you figure 20 MPH for the bus speed that works out to over 6 miles for the 20 minutes ride on the bus. Was it really that far away? That's crazy!
What was going on with your seatmate around 8:30 in the video. Was he praying or crying or just tired of listening to you?
You forgotten the word biscuits since you crossed the pond?
Noel Phillips you are simply the best
did you prebooked your meal and payed? and payed again for the cooffe and cookies? so, will they refund for the pre-booked meal?
Good video!
Was the seat next to Noel paid for as well so that there's an empty seat next to him? I feel like this happens a lot. Probably worth mentioning because I'd like to know if there's a good chance you could randomly get some more privacy or not.
Why get up so early with so many flights between Jeddah and Riyadh?
I hate flying noel, wish I could just say , oh a little bit bumpy , instead of thinking , we are going to crash ! I have flown lots , but I still dread it !
Nas, or ناس in Arabic actually translates to "people"...that's probably why it gets called Nas Air.
I'm also surprised JFK-LHR isn't on that list of world's busiest routes, given the frequency and competition on that one route...
I believe the list posted was for domestic routes.
it was domestic routes...
Noel, you know as well as I do they're biscuits not cookies ;)
Reminds me of Avelo in the US.. Very generic looking 2nd hand planes. Cheap, but they get you there perfectly fine. Several go to small lesser traveled airports that don't normally get 737s otherwise.
Great video once again. I worked in Dubai for some years but found Saudi a difficult place. Not as friendly as you found it. I am talking about 12 years ago. Also good time of year to be there, in summer it is not much fun.
I live in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and today it has become a pleasant place to live, work and have fun, as the country has become attractive for leisure and tourism and the people are very friendly
I was there in the 90s in Jeddah and generally everyone was very friendly as a rule but I think the Saudis treated Westerners rather differently that for example Pakistani labourers.
I live on the East side of KSA and I’ve used them quite a lot from Dammam flynas never depart on time . but when they do depart the flights are generally great. It’s good to know the history. I love hearing the call to pray in the airport too.
Very spectacular, arrid land. Great video per usual.
Glad you enjoyed it
I still remember when they used widebodies between Jeddah and Riyadh
Nice with NAS. I saw them - plenty - at Ryadh last week. At the 3xx gates , together with KLM !?!? Well, KLM did the domestic stretch to Damman first.
NAS was on schedule. KLM had 2.5 h delay…
Just flew Flynas and its up there on list know of blacklisted airlines. Even at the start when i was purchasing my tickets it said payment failed then i go back in right away to use anotherr CC and they uped my price by $75usd. I had no choice but to pay for it. The checkin line at instanbul took about 90mins to get through then on my way back flight was delayed at riyadh for 4 hours. They didnt even announce it or anything just bunch of people standing around for while till they changed the gate sign to Saudia. One more thing to add i paid for meal in the air and the flight attendent never gave it to me. overall about 2 out 10 . only good thing i would say is the seat space was pretty good for low cost airline.
Hi Noel !
No you didn’t miss the boarding announcement
I think it’s an attitude problem with this airline
I flew the same route last year and the flight kept getting delayed
No updates ( the boarding time on the plaque was never updated ) and you just had to guess when it was boarding time. No announcement
PS. They also never refunded me money they owed me for baggage check in Oh well !
I like the video very much Noel great video
Glad you enjoyed it
