    Great video.
Nice tips from Andy about the David Vizard tips.
Never can have to many tips.
    Work looks really nice.
    Wear a mask when porting.
    Especially when cartridge rolling.
Also, get a big box, make a bench top porting box.
    Put a light in it.
You can even hook a shop vac to it.
It will contain alot of the filings and grit.
Also I use WD 40 on the carbide burrs on aluminum.
Helps control the cut, stops the loading up in the burr.
Try the box, it is a good idea.
    Speeds the shop cleanup.
    These are just suggestions.
    I enjoyed your video.
    Great content.
    Thank you, EM.

Thank you Ed! Advice taken! I’m going to the hardware store this coming up week to make that box. I have a few sets of heads I will be doing after this build, and this time I want to do a little more in-depth with them 🤜🤛

@@2HacksGarage You can try a big cardboard box.
That will give you the experience and feel.
      A little awkward at first.
Head stand and blocks of wood really help with positioning.
      Cheers!

You (and almost everyone) assumes that the flow at speed, is coming out the carb butterflies, straight through the plenum, and into the ports. The reality is that all those fast closing valves coupled with the cam overlap, are causing a substantial reverse flow (reversion) right back up each port into the plenum. The sharp edges of the carb base plates and the bottom of the carb mounts as they enter the plenum, can be a benefit to suppress the reversion that can upset the jetting, and any left-over fuel droplets to re-atomize as they "shear" off the edges into the mix. Rounding everything from the tops of the runners down, is fine. But the carb side of the plenum should be sharp. A flow bench will not tell you all the dynamics that take place on an accelerating vehicle. Carb spacers add a lot of plenum volume to an already large cavity. Again, real world drive-ability (throttle response ; not seen on a dyno) "can" improve with the carbs a little closer to the runners. Too much reliance on flow bench testing: having little to do with real dynamic conditions.

It would be great to know how much difference it does make, but it certainly should have great air flow, all the best to you all

I’m interested too, would love to do this again and see the difference between the two. Hope all is well with you and yours too

I don't think the mismatch is all that much of an issue but hey why not if you have the means to alleviate it. I think the spacer is absolutely beneficial and in my opinion for fuel distribution the more there is will allow the fuel to each each runner more efficiently where the primary's are not over all 4 runners evenly, there's already not a ton of plenum volume so a even if there's a small negative affect from that the increased fuel distribution will definitely out weigh that. If you watch the engine masters tunnel ran episode you see distribution was the biggest issue. As far as the dividers feeling hesitant to question DV if the dividers were radiused there would be nothing to puddle on? The radius would have to be super consistent or certain runners would favor the flow resulting in uneven Air fuel mixtures from cyclinder to cylinder which can be catastrophic. But DV is likely the most knowledgeable person in the world with air and fuel flow and building power with achievements like 500+hp from a 289 with OEM iron heads...that's something typically requires premium big flowing aftermarket heads and preferably a 347 stroker kit or at very least a well sorted 302ci short block built to handle big rpm dependably not a 289 with 50+ year old factory iron heads!

so far so good, tuning the carbs went pretty well with the help of a wideband. Spark plugs look great and I have awesome throttle response. Thank for watching!
