They're in absolute top form!! Great to see Russell headbang during the outro, he "danced" quite a lot when I saw them in Copenhagen :D Still one of the best concerts in my life, and The Odyssey was a dream come true!
I respect Dream Theater's lead singer Labrie but just imagine if DT featured Russell in their songs, Allan is a fucking beast he looks like a Westler who can break enemies while he's singing :)
@@CYON4D I remember when I was in high school (~2004) my three favorite singers were Allen, Hansi from Blind Guardian, and Warrel Dane from Nevermore (rip) - of the 3 Russell Allen is easily the best live performer. Are there any recent metal singers as distinctive and powerful as those guys?
@@meshzzizk Michael Mills (Toehider, Ayreon) probably - although he doesn't really tour a lot, living down under and being niche. Incredible falsetto though! Tommy Karevik is a phenomenal singer though, but plays it safe live, partially because of self-doubt and stage fright iirc from an interview. But MAN what a soulful voice! Otherwise, I sadly favour too many bands with growls to really know of many "clean" singers :-/ They always sing in predictable / safe bands imo. Tommy Karevik just left Seventh Wonder cuz he's too committed to boring, predictable Kamelot, for instance.

I´ve been saying this for years, but about Jorn Lande (not Russell Allan).
I really like LaBrie's singing I just think he isn't a great fit for Dream Theater. I love whenever he is signing with Ayreon for example.
