Back when Morgan was still on his own, in that episode when Rick, Michonne and Carl ran into him and he was a bit crazy, he was ranting about seeing people wearing dead peoples faces.
That was way back in season 3. So if what Morgan was saying wasn’t nonsense of a crazy man, he may have already had a run in with some whisperers.
That is a really good foreshadow
I'd love if that foreshadowing was true but that season came out before the Whisperers got introduced in the comics so Morgan was likely just referring to hallucinating seeing the people he knew as walkers.
That was 8 years before this. The whisperers werent even around then but good thought nonetheless
Well, Kirkman has had a hand in the show and he may have known already that the whisperers would be a thing and may have planted seeds even then.

A true shock, I did not think they'd kill another fan favorite but form what I heard the actor was pissed that they were not using his character well enough or enough in general and I completely agree. He could've been used SO much more. Sad to see him go, he is in the comics still alive & thriving in a relationship with Aaron. The fighting we saw from him this episode is how he has been in the comics since the beginning. So sad he's gone but SO excited to see the rest of this season :D!!!

I feel like Jesus didn't even get enough screen time on the show, he had really good fighting skills, if you're going to add a character into the show, especially a big role character, gotta make sure to have good amount of screen time... this death was SO not fair! Now I wonder how Maggie will react when she comes back and finds out.

Season 3 episode 12 , Morgan tells Rick that the Walkers are wearing the faces of the dead. The question I always had was did Morgan see The whisperers in Georgia or somewhere else? I know in that episode they were in Georgia.

Best TWD episode in years, honestly one of the best episodes ive ever seen. It was scary and exciting, characters were making logical choices and everything was just fresh. S9 is very good so far and I hope they can keep this going. The cinematography in the last scene was amazing. Best death Jesus couldve gotten, nice job, finally a good character death. The only character that doesn't interest me at all is Henry, I'd rather give Judith or anyone else more screentime, but that's just my opinion.
Nah, it's confirmed. Jesus is dead. There's also an article with the actor talking about the death and his shared disappointment with us in the last 2 seasons. He's good with the way he died, but wished Jesus was utilized more and better.
I agree with him. The way he died was great. Someone needed to die at this moment... but they didn't use him right in the past 2 seasons.

What I mean is that there's a level of multitasking, and they're commentating as they're doing their thing, so it's easy to miss the obvious. Plus, there was a lot of fog and excitement.

The Walking Dead hasn’t scared me in years, this episode literally had me so freaked out for the rest of the night and I love that. The lighting in the background of that whisperer was the stuff from nightmares. I love this version of walking dead. I thought I’d be so uninterested after Rick left, but I’m still intrigued, this season is one of the top 3 in my books

I’ve come back to this video several times literally just because of Nikki’s reaction when Jesus gets played by a Whisperer. That’s the most genuine “wtf?!??” I’ve ever heard in my entire life! It reminds me of how excited I am for the second half of season 9! January now (at least here in the UK it is), so only about 6 weeks to go. God I miss Rick already though.
What makes me laugh is I wonder if your kids were upstairs and heard you cry out “No! Not Jesus!!!!!” and what must have gone through their minds when they heard that 😂

When that whisperer dodged Jesus and stabbed him I yelled so loud I woke up my youngest and had to stay up with her until she went back to sleep. Lol 😄. I was really sad to see Jesus go but at least we got to see some of his badassery before he got killed. Looking forward to the next part of the season with Beta. Ryan Looks dope as shut as Beta. I honestly thought the whisperers were going to attack Carol's caravan and the security guard who joined her would be the one to kick the bucket. Then the moment I saw the chick from the new group I thought she was gonna be the one to die, which would in turn guarantee Hilltop would take in her group. Kinda impressed they went with Jesus.
Even though I like the character ( and in the comics he wasn't part of the group who encountered the whisperers if I remember right) I hope they stick to their decision and it's not some bs like Glenn and the dumpster. If this isn't a trick I might start watching again, seems they might have gotten their balls back.
One a side note, fuck them for introducing Dog, we all know he's not gonna last lol

I think rosita and Ezekiel are a given considering their arc is pretty similar to that of the comics, so are the secondary characters they are introducing. They're obviously doing so to have some people to kill when the moment comes. Still, I think they'll probably kill a 3rd main character to surprise comic book fans. Kinda like when they killed Abraham, only Glenn was supposed to die there. I thought it'd be Jesus getting spiked too until the end of this episode but now I don't know who, it's not like they have many left lol
Honestly, killing off Jesus in that manner is a testament to his skill. The guy evaded Rick and Daryl for jokes and then gave Morgan the work when he was using his stick. Really unless they made him go out getting completely overwhelmed I can’t see a scenario where he dies 1v1 other than this one and I prefer this over the former. They were where they did not belong.
When Negan was leaving his ceil, I was thinking "The Devil was in lock up and now he is walking in Alexandria.....oh shit". THAT whistle at the end of the season 9B trailer though is hellah creepy.

When you know exactly where the person is going to aim it's pretty easy to dodge an attack I imagine
Jesus (Tom Payne) was killed off because the actor asked to leave. It's already been announced online. he wasn't happy that he wasn't being used enough on the show like the character is in the comic. So since Jesus is dead this is no longer a spoiler for the show. In the comic Jesus is the one that kills Beta, the 2nd in command of the Whisperers. Jesus and Aaron hook up and end up traveling to Hill Top during their trip they are attacked by Beta, this is after the Whisperer War has ended. Jesus kills him and learns who he really is. As for what happened during the time jump, it's being said that Michonne brought in a group of people that turned against the group and caused a divide among the communities. this group is also responsible for the X scars/ brands that are on both Michonne and Daryl's backs. So in the 2nd half we will see that story play out in a flashback. Also the whisperers go after anyone that crosses their border. their entire border line is marked with posts that have peoples heads stuck on them. Anyone that crosses that border will be killed. Rosita and Eugene crossed their border. both rosita and eugene are freaked out of their minds because the Whisperers were actually making them go in circles for a long period of time which on the wasn't really fully detailed. but basically both of them kept trying to escape only to have the walkers constantly follow them no matter where they turned. that's what the whisperers do they try to circle around you to prevent you from escaping. Notice in the cemetery you can hear them say at the end "circle them" or something like that.

The episode was amazing but i am salty that we dont get to see Jesus really show off his skills more like he just did. I wish they would of had a whisperer come up behind Eugene and kill him and kept Jesus around to run Hilltop and be part of the war i think Eugene's death would of been just as big and we could of kept Jesus and had his cool story from the comics with Aaron.

The whispers are groups of people who wear Walker face masks as camouflage or a disguise to walk amongst the zombies while not being noticed they can also trick people into thinking they are Walkers by shuffling and grunting and when the opponent doesn't expect it they catch them by surprise

This episode sure felt like a horror film. Intense from beginning to end. My heart has not pounded like that in a long time.
This episode was amazing! It's finally getting a bit scary/horror-ish.
Also, the actors who have played Henry in the past couple of seasons are the real life brothers of the actress that played Carol's deceased daughter Sophia.
Bottom line - Tom Payne offered up his character to die, so Angela Kang took him up on it. All he asked was for him to be able to go out swinging, using some of the training he put himself thru for the part. Although I'm sad to see him die, I'm glad he went out like that.

The whisperers are very territorial and eugene and rosita went into their territory ... that's why the whisperer said "you are where you do not belong".
i hate it when they make the death somewhat ambiguous when they don't mean to, like Brianne killing Stannis, so you don't really know if the character is dead or not. same thing happened here but Jesus is definitely dead.

The Whisperers are very territorial and you must never trespass..that's why wen Eugene and rosita went out further to set up radio signals, they must of went out too far and crossed into their territory, so they hunted them. hence that whisperer who killed Jesus said "You are where you dont belong".

the dog being named dog is a nod towards John Wayne in the movie Big Jake where he has a stray dog that follows him around and acts like a pet but is said in the movie to not be his pet but a dog that follows him which he calls dog.
