    Time zones made it so that towns could coordinate instead of using their own sun measurement. For most activities we don't use universal time because we want the time to roughly indicate if it will be day or night in a particular location.

    I'm having a hard time overcoming the concept of days moving forward, my mind focuses on the day and night cycle which moves

      Once one cycle is complete, it becomes the next day.
