I would be back to Surrender Bridge LOL. I have an idea for that building at the Romantic Falls. Put a roof on it, divide into a couple of rooms and rent them out to folk who get the urge to take the romance one step further. 😇 Lovely video folks.
Yep we love Hawes, thanks fro the shoutout 🙂 meant to send you some pictures but totally forgot until i saw this video, sorry mate. Great area, we will be going there over the Christmas period for one or two nights 🙂Take care all, Trev Debz and Tyler
Excellent video. We have stayed on the Caravan and Motorhome Club site numerous times. It has excellent facilities and is convenient for walking into Hawes and to Hardraw Force. We feel it is good value for money.
Hi David. Thanks for watching and your comments. Friends of ours regularly use that site and love it. It certainly does look very nice. Have a good weekend ❤️😊👍🚐
The waterfall is great isn’t it - think there was slightly less water than when I saw it last but looks like much better refraction - fantastic footage! Nice to see the car park at Hawes, been past a few times but never stayed - think we would end up on the campsite but do love the magic of places like Surrender bridge. Lovely video as always - all the very best, David & Rachel 👍❤️
Hi both. Thanks for watching. We loved the waterfall. Bet it’s fantastic after lots of rain. It’s a very useful car park. Seemed a little steep at £15 though! Have a lovely weekend. ❤️👍😊🚐
Hawes looked lovely 😎 I’d have probably gone for the Automart car park too, although a bit expensive. The location for the town, would have been the pull. Waterfall was lovely. Very pretty place, thank you. Em 💜
Thanks Em. So pleased you enjoyed it. Yes, a nice easy walk into Hawes. The waterfall was definitely worth a visit too. Hope you’re both doing ok. ❤️👍😊🚐xx
Hawes is a lovely place with plenty to see and a few good pubs to and dog friendly 😉. The waterfalls are spectacular especially if after rainfall. For us we used the CMHC site a few times but as you say its a personal choice. The stop over by Surrender bridge though was lovely.
Hi Tim. The campsite would be ideal if we needed facilities and we know they would be of a very high standard there too. Think we are fondly remembering the days when off season would cost £25 all included 🤣( showing my age!) hope you both have a lovely weekend. Take care ❤️👍😊🚐
Don’t know whether you visited the old Railway Station, with the steam engine and carriages. Very nostalgic. Did you know Hardraw force waterfall and Aysgarth falls featured in the Robin Hood Film with Kevin Costner.Enjoyed your video as Hawes used to be one of our favourite places to visit.
Hi Thanks for watching and commenting❤️ We drove past the station but didn’t have time to visit on this occasion. I remember seeing the falls in the Robin Hood film very well. Glorious aren’t they? So pleased you enjoyed the vlog. ❤️👍😊
Hi Lawrence. Thanks for watching. Good to know what you think of Hawes and that you feel that the park up is safe too. We only did the one night. Good that there are toilets that stay open all the time as well. It seems a bit more expensive than the other car park stops we’ve done ( they tend to average £5-£10 per night) but so convenient for Hawes. Have a good weekend ❤️👍😊🚐
When we went to Hawes we stayed at Bainbridge Ings Country Park looking in their websites it £30pp with electric and £25 without. It was on,y a short walk into the town. We were so busy we never had time to see the falls so that is top of the list for next time. Thank you for taking us there. Take care Gikk
Hi Gill. Thanks for watching. That campsite you use sounds like excellent value. Hope you get to see the waterfall. It is lovely and that was after some quite dry weather. Have a good weekend 😊👍❤️🚐
Amazing how the waterfall has become more overgrown than the photograph 15 is a lot for what it was 10 max but more like 5 Think a wild camping there was one close by. Uk is obsessed with parking fees
Hi both. Thanks 👍 Yes. The trees etc have really become established. The park up was the most expensive of all we’ve done. The majority seem to charge £5 or £10. We certainly don’t mind paying to park if it keeps parking options open for campervans. But that did seem a bit steep for what it was. Safe travels ❤️👍😊🚐
Sat here watching a squirrel and pheasant fighting in the back garden made me realise I would probably have gone for the wild camp, CMHC are too expensive IMO and £5-£10 a night at the auction mart would have been more in line. Waterfall looked a good walk, maybe you could drive Merlin up there and sell Ice-cream out of the sliding door window Ellie whilst Graham takes people on trips around the back of the 🌊waterfall😂😂Cheers K.
Hi Karlos. Thanks for watching. Who won the fight? Can’t beat a bit of nature! We used to used CAMC all the time and can remember when it cost £20-£25 a night. They do have very high standards though. So you know what you are getting. We thought £15 was a bit steep for the car park TBH ( £5/£10 seems to be the going rate for the area) Now there’s a thought. Selling Mr Whippy from Merlin 🤣 Have a lovely weekend ❤️👍😊🚐
Lovely to see Hawes one of favourites when touring. We use CAMC as great value for money in a gorgeous location. £15 a bargain, you seem to want it for free with amenities watching your vlog, but did you put back into the local community 🤔. This did not show in your vlog.
Hi Meggy. Thanks for watching and commenting. You do have to pay to see the waterfall but it’s well worth it. Just a shame the cafe was closed so Graham couldn’t get his ice cream 🤣. The CAMC site did look lovely. When we had a caravan and big motorhome in the past we always stayed on sites and the CAMC was always of a really high standard, so can see why you like staying on them. (Spotless with lovely warm shower blocks and in great locations). We certainly didn’t expect to park for free at Hawes, and are always grateful when town parking for campers is allowed overnight. We did feel the need to point out that the park up was more expensive than the others we have used in the area ( they were £5/£10 per night) Not sure how many of our vlogs you’ve watched, but if you follow us you will see how we try to put money back into the local community as much as we can. Whether it’s eating at cafes, visiting pubs, local attractions etc. the fact that we like parking off grid means that we have more money to support the local community and spend it in the gorgeous places we visit. Hope you will join us on our Outer Hebrides tour coming up next. In the meantime have a great weekend ❤️👍😊🚐
You need to be a rebel occasionally, especially if you’re not meant to do it! I would’ve stayed where you are and agree Hawes is lovely! It’s years since we have been there. You didn’t go to the Cheese Dairy, isn’t it there anymore? Regards, Cheryl
Hi Cheryl. Thanks for watching. Graham is certainly a bit of a rebel! 🤣. Hawes is lovely. It was a pity the shops were closed as we got there rather late in the day. I’d love to go back there. Yes The Cheese Dairy is still there. Friends of ours have been recently. Unfortunately we were on a bit of a time limit with the trip, otherwise Graham would have been first in the queue for a lump of cheese next morning 😉. Have a lovely weekend ❤️👍😊🚐
The waterfall was s great and a nice walk in the sunshine, pity no ice cream parlour 😂 I would choose the site if the facility were needed, if not id short stay in the town for a while then wildcamp again 😉
Hi Steve. Thanks for watching. Horses for courses is very much what we tend to do as well 👍Graham was so cheeky about the ice cream parlour😉. Have a lovely weekend ❤️👍😊🚐
Great video as always. We would have gone back to Surrender Bridge to overnight or found another wild spot. We don’t object to paying but do object to being ripped off, no way was that park up worth £15.
Hi Gillian. Thanks for watching. It was rather steep. Convenient for the town but much dearer than others ( £5/£10 seems to be the normal rate ) have a lovely weekend ❤️👍😊🚐
Think it is a rather nice campsite. Friends of ours use it quite a lot. Thanks for your question! It’s a great one 👍😊Will add it to our Q & A sessions ❤️👍😊🚐
Hi Pam. Thanks for watching I think they charge a premium as it’s an easy walk into Hawes from there. But other town park ups we’ve used tend to charge £5 or £10 overnight. Have a good weekend ❤️👍😊🚐
Lovely sunny weather for your waterfall visit. Stunning 😊 Really enjoyed. Thank you guys. Love Ray and Nicola xx
So pleased you enjoyed it. We were certainly very lucky with the weather too. Have a lovely weekend both 👍😊❤️🚐
