My 13 year old daughter asked to look through my old CD collection tonight to see if there was something she might like. I came across my Tesla Greatest Hits CD and my eyes lit up. I told her she’d like these guys and I put this song on. All I had to do was play Gettin’ Betters prelude and the first few seconds after it kicks in and she got excited and said, “Yeah, I like it.” She grabbed it an ran off to her room to listen to it. Proud Papa!
It's an awesome feeling when we can pass on the music we grew up on loving...tesla is one of the best. I'm 16 years older than my baby sister. I introduced her to tesla. She loves them to this day.
Seems like anything named Tesla doesn’t get the respect it deserves. The legendary inventor, the most innovative car company, and the most underrated rock band in history. What an awesome band
I'm sorry for your loss Sir 🙏 may Jehovah God bless and protect you in your healing journey and reunite you with your beautiful wife in the new order 🙏sincere prayers for you man, your humble brother in Christ 💪😎💯🙏
They definitely were, but they were extremely underrated and overshadowed by hairspray bands with little substance. These guys broke big with Love Song, but they had so many great songs before that but were always overlooked by MTV because their videos didn't have half-naked chicks rolling around on the ground.
This first album really grabbed me it was classic like the 70s bands totally , no hair spray no machines no fake recording true rock n roll Tesla kick butt🤘🤘🤘
They were poised to become the next big thing. MTV would play the song “Sign” form the acoustic record constantly. Then grunge came along and killed all the 80’s hard rock bands.
This song has helped me through so many tough times in life. I don't quit. This song reminds me to keep swinging, regardless. Things get better. Thank you gents.
I have never heard this song before, but I tell you I suffer of a chronic very painfull condition and this just made my day!! And I too will get so much better this year! I think this song should somehow be used for the sick, to cheer them up, for healing also, it is very positive :)
Lets do it. Music is the spirit evolving to a higher wider stronger eternal inifinate plane.god sleeps.and so do we. Cross the divide.light as love as light.VIBES AND GOOD WISHES
@@chrisdoucet2836 Thank you friend! A little, but it is a chronic condition. Somehow I have to learn to live with this. I guess the most important thing in the end is to have love in your heart, and to be who you really are, and never betray yourself, never. My best regards, and God bless all of you who read this comment, thank you for your words.
When I was stuck in the hospital for 5 1/2 weeks in the hospital, I heard this song play. I am diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and felt very depressed and not wanting to fight anymore. I heard this song, and after 7 yrs I'm still fighting and trying to stay positive. Come on Tesla! Bring it on!
They had a clean, hard rock sound with the blue collar vibe. This was their best years when this song was recorded. Little Suzi,..The Way It Is, Song and emotion, What You Give, ect. They got a little muddled over the years with their sound, trying to get heavier maybe but they have always been a great band.
To me, they always had a heavy side, but they could also play mellower tunes. They were like a 70's band, kicking your ass with Cumin Atcha Live, then going with a mellower tune like this. I like all their releases, maybe with the exception of Shock and I probably prefer the heavier side of Tesla. Great musicians and seemingly great people.
@leftygtrplr6184 Some more "mellow" yes,...But to be clear, when I say "a clean sound",....I am talking about a clean and clear overdrive sound. More similiar to an AC/DC tone, with a little different playing. And to me, an AC/DC tone hits harder than metal.
After so many years, I still love this song. Almost 60 now, almost ready to be classified as physically disabled due to multiple back issues, too. I can still outwork these weak, wimpy, lazy 20 year olds almost any day, and time; but just no longer for more than a short time -- but yeah, I'm hard-working and still kicking a&& until they cart my crippled a&& out the door! We were the last generation after the 1950's. We are tough, independent, and most of us learned and work like our fathers -- no mercy, no quitting, and we'll stop when you cart us out dead. This song speaks of our values, our work ethic, and what we were made of. Gen "X," The honey badger generation!
I've been listening to them since I was 13, and Mechanical Resonance came out. 48 now, and going to see them in May, and introduce my 20 year old son to one of their concerts! It never gets old for me! Keep the music coming guys!!!
This is going to be my theme song. I am tired of shit bringing me down. I just let destroy my soul. I need to change my scene. 😏 I am doing it. My priorities have definitely changed. Thanks for the song. Great meaning.
One of the greatest bands ever. Glad I saw them here in Boston early 2000s with all original members. I hope this song title holds true each day I wake up. Peace.
How many years later...Still asking the question(s)?!?!?! Well, I am still kicking and screaming for something better and unfortunately, getting the same results. Perhaps, we need more...ROCK, I am tired of the facade.
Not only a great band, but 2 of rocks best guitarists. These guys are exceptional. This is hair band music with soul. Good message, always gets my chin up.
Saw them twice, both as opening acts: 1987 for Def Leppard on the Hysteria Tour and 2010 for Queensryche on the American Soldier Tour. Great both times, of course. It was very touching how they did an all-acoustic treatment of "Love Song," and we all joined Jeff Keith in singing "Love will find a way." It was beautiful.
The band that "escaped" my listening enjoyable for years, and I still don't know why. Tesla is simply fantastic, a pleasure to hear, and today, at 69, I can't get enough. Rock on Tesla!! 🤟
I saw These Awesome Dudes at the Salem Armory in Oregon back in '88 - '89.. (I'll have to check my Ticket Stubs).. remember those?🤦♂️🤷♂️ I still get goosebumps & feel like I can Fly when I listen to you guys. Rock On!!
I was lucky enough to spend two or three days hanging out with the drummer from this band around 1987 or 86, during a ski trip. My dad was dating his mom at the time. Really cool guy, we never even talked about music. Just played video games, had fun skiing and we'll there's a lot more to the story but I'll be typing another five minutes if I go into it.
Man, you guys turned me on to Nikola Tesla and you will always be at the top of my list! I still remember all the great times. So blessed to still be here and still, Gettin' Better! -Cheers!
I’m going to see them in July. ! I can’t wait !!!!! I grew up listening to Tesla. I will always love them . So many great songs , I know the words to most of them 🤣🤣💕
Tesla has survived the years... hell, almost all 80's and early 90's music is the best ever produced... I know I'll take knocks for this but I stand by it... Even my all time favorite, Scorpions had their best sound from late 79 through the 90s. Still love the old farts to this day... and I am now one of the old fsrts but I ROCK!
Playing a lot of small venues currently, saw them at a casino in Iowa last week and going to see them again next week! Still sound amazing and the smaller venues are simply awesome - even though they can still definitely play stadiums! Tesla is a top 10 band for me

I saw them open for David Lee Roth in '88 or '89. I have went on to see them over 35 more times or more. I have lost count. I have seen many other bands also. These guys are the best!
I was in high school and saw this video on headbangers ball on MTV back then and was an instant fan I told all my friends about Tesla and how great they were (still are) What I loved most about Tesla was no makeup, leather, etc just great musicians making great music.
Had not heard this in a while, had to pick up my guitar plug in, crank it and jam along, man I miss being 20 and seeing them in front of maybe 100 people before mechanical resonance was released, and thinking to myself theses guys are going to make it

I swear these guys never have gotten the respect in the music industry that I think they deserve.. they are truly so freaking awesome..
you're so f@@@ing right!!!!!
I agree with you on that.

Totally agree
@@michelledobies5775 Absolutely.
Yes they do
Hall of Fame is meaningless anymore
The RNR hall of fame doesn't deserve the awesoneness of these guys
To me these guys were among the best the 80's had to offer.

@@maxxxmodelz4061 it's funny you mention that.
Thinking back on it you are absolutely correct. They didnt need that garbage to get their music out

The most underrated band ever. They should be playin' sold out stadiums
Saw them last month in Raleigh NC and they still kickass! It was sold out! Bout 800 people! But it was capacity!
Gabriel F TRUTH
Love his voice, like a rougher higher version of Eric Martin
That did play to big stadiums I saw theme open up for the Stones in 1990 at Riverfront Stadium, so I'm sure that played in other stadiums
Saw them 2 years ago in Sao Paulo and it was awesome! Even being a short concert.
My neighbors are listening right now
This song has helped me through so many tough times in life. I don't quit. This song reminds me to keep swinging, regardless. Things get better. Thank you gents.
The same young girl who grew up in the '80's will die with the same '80's heart, soul & hope for something better, better than Gold 💘💫💛
