If it were me??? I would just chill instead of setting myself up for night riding a possible tornado or tornadoes... whatever you decide... just be safe!!!
Be safe Bunny! I know everything turned out okay. You’re still posting videos!😍 I’m glad you share the experience with us, for me and looking forward to beginning my vanlife journey in the coming months. It’s good to know we don’t always have to be in control. Midwest storms can be brutal, and the waiting for it to pass is nerve wracking. Stay safe no matter where you are today.
No matter where you go, there's a chance of running into severe weather. In that campground the bathrooms are tornado shelters, so you could stay. In that particular weather system, another option might have been to head NW into Kansas during the day, when storm risks are lower, and get behind the storms movement. Stay one night, then follow the storms and drive back into Missouri after the storm has passed. It would be shorter than driving back to base camp and you could have completed your trip. Just a thought.
I have found myself in the exact situation your in, fulltime for 8 yrs in Australia 🚍... love my life and have become a weather watching need.. 😉.. im so anxious for the outcome don't keep us hanging too long..😊.. be safe... always.😅
I would stay put, night driving in the rain ,and tornado 🌪 warnings not good. Be safe Bunny, please let us know. You know what to do,praying for your safety ❤🙏
Hi Bunny!! I hope you are safe! Stay where your at or go into town and get into a multi-level parking garage, park as close to the center as possible, or go to a hotel/motel where people can protect and watch out for each other. The hurricane in Florida that caused so much damage that they're still cleaning it up, I said; "If it was me I would head north two tanks of gas and then find a place to stay". I would have ended up in Asheville, North Carolina, and ended up with the carnage that Hurricane Helene dumped onto eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina, after destroying Florida.
I believe they are manipulating the weather. Sadly. Snow in Florida too ? This world is so strange. I've lived 64 years on this earth and I'm speechless.
I'd want to try and get out from under the pink dot. If it's moving NE and if at all possible, I'd want to try to be SW of the storm. If it's a long line coming straight W I might just try to find a place to hide 😬
If it were me, I would shelter in place. You have a tornado shelter nearby, which I consider a lesser risk than trying to out-drive the danger. I really hope it was a non-event for you xx
Be safe! You're welcome to come to Huntsville, AL... they said we aren't expecting any severe weather this time!! There's lots to do here... you just stay safe!!!
Oh ive only just seen this! Hope you are safe and ok 🙏 I'm in uk, luckily we don't have tornados much here, but the mere thought of being near one terrifies me 😱 Stay safe lovely lady 😘🥰💕
You are one smart cookie and I know you followed your instincts as you always do. When traveling, weather is always the mystery. Always keep yourself safe, for you Bunny, cannot be replaced, but a vehicle can. Many Blessings!
I would say drive either east or west depending on which outer side of the projection you are nearest. Then you would be driving away from the threats rather then into and lighten the stress and chance of strikes. HUGS and what ever you have chosen to do by now I hope it went well.
If it were me, I would stay put. Like you said, you have somewhat of a shelter there. It far better than driving at night in the rain and possibly extreme weather. Be safe!!
At first, I was "logical brain" for the win...out drive that system! But after listening to you explain the location and size, I would be more likely to wait it out in the campground I already paid for. Rest, calm my spirit, listen and watch. I certainly wouldnt want to he driving at night. Im sure you made the decision that served you best. ❤
I am not in that position but I think knowing me I would go east for a day or two then venture back to where you are if you still want to visit those places. You could also go west out of the reach of the storm.
It is similar to a hurricane feeling of what to do, where to go because they change directions and could be missing or not, devastating or minimally destructive. I'd call your dad just to get a different perspective. I hope you stay safe. Xo
Do you have friends who live outside the tornado zone you could go visit? Please listen to your gut...it will tell you what to do. Whatever decision you make, it will be the right one. You can always earn more money, you only get one life. Please be safe and know I'm holding you and Dimples, in prayer.

I would go to a big mall and hide in the undercover parking for the day 😐
Be safe Bunny!

I would sit still my friend if it was me. I would also check to see if there is another safe shelter that the locals go in severe weather. Stay safe !
Since you post on delay, and I remember that coverage area map you showed, I know you're safe & sound. That was a heck of a decision to need to make.
Safe travels. You always make the right decision.
I would not drive in the dark no matter what. You have good instincts I know you will do the right thing. 😊

Any safe route back to base camp you have really had a rough time between the van issues and weather. Keeping you in prayer.
It’s okay life happens so I need to always be able to pivot!!

Play it safe and you can return on another time safety is first and foremost mostly your life is the important issue at this time .
Play cards .. make contain, edit with extra initial
Can you go west to the green area?
West is where the storms were coming in
Be safe in whatever you do decide personally i would head home until fairer weather.
Certainly ended up being a smart decision
Stay put and stay safe and l'll look for you in a few hours so you can tell me more......
Don't travel, please let us know what you decided❤ I found out the hard way don't travel please
Be safe bunny
Thank you!!
Sorry to hear you have van issues, I just had to dump a lot of bucks into my old car, to simply keep it running.
Head into town, find a parking garage, and hunker down with a good book.

Southeast Missouri is where I’m at. Come on down, lol.
I am not in that position but I think knowing me I would go east for a day or two then venture back to where you are if you still want to visit those places. You could also go west out of the reach of the storm.
I would head east out of that weather band and hunker down there until it dissipated.
Even east the storms were blowing in
It’s a no brainer…..stay where you are!
I left but I am happy I did because the next day was bad

Personal safety over property safety.
Absolutely
Just be safe,,you are camp savvy
