I dont know about Temu. Its really confusing to me that we ban plastic straws but encourage the mass production of cheap plastic products that will break in two uses.
Exactly.
Because it's not really about banning or cutting down on plastics. If it was, Walmart, Target, ikea, and other big box stores would have had to change a lot of their stuff. Reusable bags are great but they also have plastic in them and you have to use 1 more than 100 times to offset that one bag's carbon footprint. Also, many people used grocery bags as garbage bags (2 or more uses) when they were done. Now, you have to buy bags to throw out (back to single use plastic). I've seen many temu products on Amazon and others sites, it's all coming from the same places.

I bought a 6 pan eyeshadow palette a year or so ago. It had virtually no color payoff. I think it just depends on which one of ‘millions’ is chosen. 🤷♀️
We also don’t ban plastic on ‘everything’ else. ..and I want my plastic straws. That’s being observed, Temu Is pretty sketchy. 😬 !
For everyone here who’s horrified about Temu, if you shop on Amazon, Walmart, Dollartree, wayfair, H&M, Zara, IKEA, etc. or buy anything that is made in China which is pretty much 90% of everything sold in US), it’s pretty much the same thing just way, way cheaper! We each make our own decisions about which evils we are OK with. Let’s not pretend that our buying habits are somehow “better” 🙄
That said, I wouldn’t buy makeup from Temu and I did remove the app from my devices due to security concerns. On the flip side, bought many things from them which were the exact same as on Amazon or dollar store type items and they were pennies on the dollar.

When i buy on amazon and it’s 3rd party seller i would look at the business of the seller and if it’s in Chinese i don’t buy it. Not hating. Just a life choice to avoid them as much as possible 😒 when i go to asian grocery i do the same.
Tati- I’m kind of shocked that you are not more outraged that Temu had stolen your brand that you worked so hard to create. We all watched you struggle with the untimely demise of your brand, and Temu profiting from your name and image is no joke.
They've done dupes of everyone's.
Humor can be a way of coping. She did say she wasn't happy about it. She even mentioned calling her lawyers. It is horrible that they are selling stuff under her brand's name.😢😢
She has experienced enough to be able to have a laugh and not take such things so personally. It's not worth it to be so hellbent and stressed on things happening outside of their control. Rest assured, they care the most out of all of us and are doing what they can behind the scenes.
The idea that TEMU is ethical or an ethical place to shop is kind of a joke. Sad they stole her brand but not surprising, it is probably only one of many ethical issues with the products reviewed in this video.
I love how she is dealing with this like a champ!They didn't steal her brand LMAO! She doesn't have a brand!!! She has a trademark on her brand name in the U.S. What if someone else is named Tati, and they want to name their brand after themselves? In the US they would have to change that, but in China I guarantee they don't GAF what she owns! Makes no difference outside of US😂.

she doesn’t wear perfume because she has a fragrance sensitivity. She doesn’t project her beliefs and say “You shouldn’t wear this because….” everything she does is a personal preference, and can always change/pick and choose what she does. She has said in a few videos, clean makeup is interesting to learn about and implement, but at the end of the day just because you use it and advocate for it doesn’t mean you can never use regular beauty products again. You have no right to judge her the same way she doesn’t judge you :)

What makes ordering makeup from temu any worse than ordering makeup from Amazon?
Tati- I have been following you for a loooong time and really appreciate you and your opinion on many subjects. This one is a hard pass- Temu is not a platform I will support for so many reasons.

Please just keep in mind, the reason Temu can sell things so cheaply is because of their unethical treatment of employees, and violation of labor laws. You get decent products but try to remember who is at the other end of that product.

Thank you Tati! I have legit ordered things on Temu that are listed on Amazon and bought those as well and they’re exact same thing and cheap quality! I believe it doesn’t matter where you order from. It’s what you were ordering! Just because Amazon is us company does not mean that they don’t let the same suppliers list the exact product that’s sold on temu!

Temu is like the Asian Amazon, there are multiple different retailers in the site. Temu itself is not selling the knock offs. You clearly know nothing about this company.
Tati, my word for the year is bliss! I.E. If I do more cleaning during the week, I can spend a lazy Saturday morning chilling, reading... If I save for the best things, I can feel blissful whenever I use them. Etc. Only things that make me blissfully happy in 2024! ❤❤❤

The only thing I'm concerned about is for how cheap the makeup is price wise, they products themselves may have harmful ingredients in them.
So is Essence,Cover Girl and many other brands that everyone loves and uses yet no one is complaining about the price !?!?
In those cheap products they often use glass for the shimmer. So be careful! I never buy these products.

Not gonna lie, I do worry about the production of this makeup, the ingredients, how sanitary is it... if we're talking about "clean beauty".... this is easily the opposite end of the spectrum

Word of the year: Chill--so as to stop taking myself so seriously& care less about things that, in the long run, don't really matter & should not really matter cause Life is way too short. Love yourself & all else will fall into place.
A lot of the "small businesses" you buy from on Etsy or even in person are getting these same products and reselling. Amazon as well. I realize it can be problematic, but most of our shopping is at this point in one way or another.

Sensory issues yes!!!!highly recommend looking into the vagus nerve and all the things you can do to work w that. Also, not for everyone, but craniosacral therapy is some PHENOMENAL STUFF!! 90% of the make up ect is actually really good. For those of us that live paycheck to paycheck and only get a little bit of cash to, try to decorate our homes, get good makeup and wonderful kitchen gadgets this is the way to go.

Temu is not a brand. It is a company. Temu is based on human exploitation and suffering. There is a reason why it's so cheap. This is not the fault of the citizens, it is the fault of one malicious company. Some sources do not deserve any video. This is one of them.

Hey Tati Happy New year xx I haven't ordered from temu but I ordered from shein some accessories for a photo shoot. I also ordered a couple of slip dresses for the same shoot. I'd say the quality was the same and I only used it because I was on a very low budget. For what I wanted it came up great in photos but to wear and use every day not sure how long it would last. I'm aware it's fast fashion and landfill etc so I'm holding onto everything to re use in shoots etc.
I think my word would be Choice, I often just do something without thinking I can choose differently. Meaning more for me personally. I choose a healthy meal over junk food and make the effort for me. I make choice so often that suits everyone else.
No offense, Love you Tati and all your videos, I even don’t mind for the products that doesn’t work or work me,but a Temu recommendation is a real no. I would rather support an indie brand rather than this unethical company.

I bought draft blocking curtains from them. I would not have been able to afford them anywhere else. They look nice, and they have kept my living room way warmer than previous winters.!
My favorite item i bought from Temu is the rice dispenser. It dispenses 2 cups of rice. Holds about 10 pounds of rice.
And it's surely made out of toxic material 😢

I think Walmart may also be selling the same items at a markup. I just started noticing some merch that looks identical to things i see on TEMU. There are plenty of articles available that explain their mfg. and marketing strategy. I tried 2 pieces of clothing and the fabric was terrible. Never wore either.

To be honest. TEMU is a scam, fraud, and full of dishonest practices. I understand you trying it for content but I wish you could have avoided it.
The thing is the alternative was so easy: not make the video and not post it. It’s actually less work which is even more disappointing

@@amilehonstein1671 I have heard peoples banks or credit cards accounts have been compromised. Many of the items they sell can be found on Amazon.
There is also been people saying their personal information is being sold on the dark web.
Anytime we buy online this is a risk but so many of these China companies have been pledge with a lot of questionable practices.

So is Amazon.... name one company that isn't a scam. Charlotte Tilbury and Pat McGrath over price their products and they aren't worth the price tag that they're putting on them. That's the definition of a scam as well. It's not just Temu.

Yes I am the same with sensory and clothing. When I was younger I had cotton clothes to go under all my clothing because I couldn’t stand the feeling of most fabrics on my skin and I wear sweats most the time. I don’t enjoy physical touch most the time and I can’t stand having any moisture on my skin. Still haven’t figured out how to manage it better . You’re not alone!

Your reaction when you opened the bag is exactly what I do every time I get an order! I order stuff on my phone, usually forgetting what I ordered when it arrives. Free return policy as long as it’s all in one box. You go in knowing that most of it is crap from China. The sight is addicting and is just fun, not to be overthunk😋

The past couple years I have been slowly eliminating wired bras from my collection. They are so uncomfortable. Why would I want to suffer for no reason! Wow makes such a difference with the way I breath, blood circulation and no more bruises from wires in bras! Sports bras or form fitting tanks that provide some support are 100% better. Yes!

Temu isn’t a go to for clothes for me. I get press on nails (actually really good), kitchen tools like burger smasher etc, storage stuff, ridiculous holiday headbands and so on.
Temu used to supply all the little shops in malls that had the anime stuff and dollar stores etc. but when pandemic hit and stores closed they just skipped the middle man and went direct to public. People who are vehemently anti Temu have been (and continue to) buy their products without knowing it…
Yes, they have been shown to have crap conditions for employees in factories. Guess who else has those issues that have been reported on? Apple, any cell phones, computers, tvs - all electronics made in China seem to have exact same conditions. The suicide nets on the Apple factory were rather exciting…. Pretending Temu is the devil and ignoring the facts of nearly all factories in China is just willful ignorance.
YES! Everyone here with their righteous outrage kidding themselves about EVERYTHING we buy, from our food (harvested and processed by migrants under deplorable conditions), to our clothes, stuff, electronics and “green” electric cars! 😂😂😂
Unless everyone is not participating in target walmart amazon, I don't understand the outrage over temu. I won't go near the makeup but every kitchen device I check there first. Literally bought an herb keeper for $1.5 while walmart has it for 10. Like where does everyone think that oil absorbing ball roller from revlon comes from?

I actually use the blush I got from Temu everyday. Lol it is the perfect peach color that matches me. I’ve tried high end and drug store in the U.S and none of them have worked for my skin tone. Lol

@@shade989 is it nice though if it comes at the expense of people living and working in horrendous conditions and not even knowing the conditions of the components of the product and what it can do to our health? I understand how you feel, I'm born and raised poor. But how can I condone so many other people living even worse lives than I have because of my consumerism. With that, no item is worth it.
@@sierrarae1316 Honesty the majority of goods that are sold are unethically sourced wether its the labor to collect the supplies to make the item or the labor that makes the item itself. Even here in the U.S. we have unethical labor practices. Amazon and Walmart are just 2 of a long list. Also luxury priced goods are just as bad as Temu. Even worse in some cases. They outsource to a lot of the same factories in countries with well known unethical labor practices. Then let's go into the luxury brands that burn Millions of dollars of their unsold products rather than their brand name be so called cheapened by letting it be sold cheaper in discount stores. Which adds to pollution and the waste of resources. When it comes down to it the only way to know for sure something is 💯% ethical is to collect the resources needed and make it yourself. It truly sucks that this is the world we live in. It still sucks even worse when you don't have a choice of where to get things from because Financial limitations. If you grew up truly poor then I think you would understand that struggle.
