    Guide & Notes
    ----------------------------
    Like last season, this is a faster, easier and more consistent way to grind than using the towers due to the fact that the opponents have less health, there's no modifiers and the opponents will never change or get any harder. While the per-stage rewards might seem low due to the lack of Victory XP after beating it for the first time, the fact that the stage never changes and can be beaten in less than a minute means that the long-term gains are better than other methods.
    Having said that, there is one exception: If you can find an hourly tower with easy modifiers and no spongy opponents (specifically Nitara, Reiko, Geras and Havik), you can make more XP per time spent than this method due to the additional tower completion rewards, but you still need to use the Invincible relic for guaranteed flawless victories and end every fight with a brutality. Otherwise, due to the extra time it takes to climb the tower, it ends up being roughly the same if not worse than this method. So without further ado, here's how to get started:
    Start by beating the final invasion boss in order to get your hands on the key item needed to break the special acid barriers found on each map. You'll need to get past those barriers to get the Invincible relic.
    After beating the final invasion boss (or even before if you prefer), take a moment to reset your stat points by purchasing a White Enenra Core from the vendor at the Wu Shi Academy map. Make sure that your character has 15 points in Special and 25 points in Health because you'll need that to equip the Invincible relic. Put the rest of your stat points into Attack in order to make upcoming fights a lot easier.
    Next, get the Invincible relic by going back to the Fire Temple map and finding either of the acid barriers (they both lead to the same place). Use the key item you got from the invasion boss to break the barrier, then follow the path until you find a locked treasure chest that doesn't require any klues to access, right above the Frosty stage. Open the chest to get the Invincible relic.
    As a quick note, the relic works by making all damage go to your meter instead of your health bar, and as long as you're in critical health (1% health remaining) your meter will recharge almost instantly. This makes you pretty much invincible and as long as no health is ever taken from your health bar, it still counts as a flawless victory if you win. This means that you'll pretty much always get the flawless victory bonus rewards at the end of a fight, which we'll be taking advantage of with the endurance stage.
    The talisman that you use for this method doesn't matter because you should be doing enough damage with your physical attacks alone to finish off these enemies very quickly. With the Invincible relic equipped you also don't need to worry about taking any damage, so just use whatever regular kombos you're comfortable with.
    From there, I'd suggest that you complete any remaining invasion mode stages that you've yet to clear as most of them will give you a pretty substantial victory XP reward the first time you beat them. Having the Invincible relic equipped will make any remaining stages a lot easier, so this is a fast and easy way to grind out a good amount of XP for your fighters and kameos.
    Now you can to go to the Flesh Pits mesa. Follow the path I took in the video (from the portal at the end of the map, not the beginning) to find the endurance stage. You'll probably hit an acid barrier if you haven't already unlocked it, so go ahead and use the key item you got from beating the final invasion boss to unlock it and access the area with the endurance stage. Make sure you have the Invincible relic equipped for guaranteed flawless victories and be sure to end the match with a brutality to get as much bonus XP as possible per match.
    While you won't be getting any fighter or kameo Victory XP after beating the stage for the first time, you will continue to get bonus XP for flawless victories and brutalities. Using this method, you can get 645 Profile XP, 350 Fighter XP, 170 Kameo XP, 400 Koins, 300 Seasonal Kredits and 150 Krowns in less than a minute without having to worry about the stage getting harder on the next attempt. Thanks so much for watching!

      Thanks for the kind words and I'll definitely continue to make these videos every season. The grind is rough for sure, but as long as you pace yourself and continue to have as much fun as you can (for example practicing combos during fights, finding new ways to sneak brutalities in, etc) it can still be rewarding and it'll feel great once you've finally mastered your fighters and kameos. Best of luck!

    okay so after doing this method for hours and hours i decided to try out the tower method to switch things up. as it turns out, it's way better! (or i got lucky with a good tower)
    basically with your method i was levelling up about once an hour (170xp per ~2min fight). when i went to the towers there was one with 3 enemies, no modifiers and no spongy enemies that awarded 750xp for completion plus the bonuses from brutalities and flawless victories. in total for a tower i got 960xp every about 2.5 minutes, and levelled up from 14 to 15 in a little less than 20 minutes. that's far, FAR faster than the method shown (no hate or anything though, the video is good and the tower method is mentioned in the description, i just want to let people know of this faster method!)
    edit: so my second tower was also perfect and i leveled up a LOT (up to 9 from scratch), however the third one was terrible. still 3 enemies, the first one was reiko and the last one was a mini boss with 2 phases. so yes, this is a great method, but it's also about luck. it's still worth waiting for a good tower rather than doing the 170xp method in my opinion, and it's a nice opportunity to take a break every once in a while. either way, can't wait to finish this game! it shouldn't take that much longer as i only have one and a half kameos left.
    this is literally the shortest MK game to 100%, it only took me just over 20 hours to finish everything other than the mastery, and i'm currently at 36 hours (would've been less if i used the tower method from the beginning i guess), so i feel like this game can be completed in like 40 hours if you're optimal

    • @8-bitbasement
      @8-bitbasement  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks for your input! Yeah, it is a gamble which method will be better per time spent every hour because if you get a bad tower it does take longer. But you're right, it's also a good opportunity to take a break if you're just waiting for a good tower to drop, and the benefits when you do get a good tower are definitely worth it. Unfortunately it's too late in the season for me to make any massive changes to the video, but I'll keep this in mind when recording next season's videos.

    Man this is crazy.. I thought about coming back to this game because I really wanted to get the plat trophy for it but no way.. can’t believe they nerfed XP gains this hard. I looked it up and it’s 60,000 XP required to get max Kameo level.. you got 170xp from this.. that means doing this about 353 times to get to max level, then multiply this by 5 for the 5 characters you need to do this for.. that would mean doing this 1765 times. Let’s be generous around loading screens and assume every run you did was perfect and put each of these runs at 1.5 minutes.. that’s almost 50 hours of grinding menial shit (outside of actually progressing the game and enjoying what it has to offer), just to level up a few characters? Nah.. I enjoyed my time with this game.. but nah. That’s just disrespectful lol

    • @8-bitbasement
      @8-bitbasement  2 месяца назад +3

      It is pretty crazy, and I think most of us share your feelings towards how frustrating it is. I've said it before, but I feel one of the reasons that the game was so buggy and felt so unfinished on release was because they pushed it out way too early in order to get player numbers and dragon krystal sales up as soon as possible. Since then, we've basically been treated like a statistic instead of valuable fans and supporters of the series, which is why they've cracked down so hard on every grinding loophole and exploit we've found until now. They want us playing as long as possible, and it's a big reason that I make these videos every season, in an effort to help players save time even if it's not always as significant as it was in Season 2 or 3. It's also why I suggest players take their time throughout the season, have fun experimenting with combos and brutalities and try not to get burnt out grinding fighters and kameos 24/7 until it's done. Our time is valuable, that's something that I respect and something that NetherRealm Studios and the higher ups pulling the strings need to respect as well.

      @@BattleBrotherCasten NetherRealm Studios made a change a couple of seasons ago that prevents stages from giving Victory XP more than once, so that's normal. You're still able to get Finisher and Other XP though, and that's what this method takes advantage of, allowing you to get the most bonus XP possible in the shortest amount of time. By equipping the Invincible relic, you're guaranteed a flawless victory, which is multiplied because it's an endurance stage. Combine that with a brutality and you're getting the most consistent amount of XP per time spent than any other method, primarily because this stage never changes and has no modifiers or high-health opponents (Nitara, Reiko, etc.) like the seasonal and hourly towers can have. This method is about long-term gains, so take your time with it and spread it out over the course of the season.

    Is this still the best way get xp during the double xp event that lasts for this weekend?

    • @8-bitbasement
      @8-bitbasement  2 месяца назад +1

      Yup! Since all XP from all sources is now doubled, the reasons that this method beats out the seasonal or hourly towers per time spent remains the same. The opponents never change or get more powerful, there's no modifiers to worry about and two out of three of the opponents have very little health. Having said that, if you can find an hourly tower with easy modifiers, no spongy opponents like Nitara, Reiko, Geras or Havik and can finish every fight with a brutality, then that would be a great alternative that would give you more XP per time spent due to the tower completion bonuses. Otherwise it's roughly the same due to the additional loading screens.

  • @theboogetyman
    @theboogetyman 3 месяца назад +3

    this gives you basically no xp for your character and kameo levels. is this honestly the best way now? the seasonal tower isn't a good grind either, 10 fights filled with bullshit and when you complete it you barely get enough xp to go up one level even when the tower level is at 40. good job nrs

      @8-bitbasement  3 месяца назад +11

      Unfortunately it is and trust me when I say that we all feel your pain. NetherRealm Studios has cracked down pretty hard on grinding since Season 3 and as bad as this method may seem, it's still much faster than the alternatives of grinding random stages or attempting to grind consistently via the seasonal tower. I'm a big Mortal Kombat fan but I've been pretty vocal about my displeasure regarding MK1's painful grind practices, and it's a big reason that I make these videos every season to help other players, even if it only makes it a little easier. I'm always on the lookout for better ways to grind though and I'll be sure to share with the community as soon as I find anything worthwhile. Until then, remember that this method works best over time and it's a lot easier to handle if you space it out over the course of the season. Best of luck!

The game clearly just wasn't finished and was released a year early in order to bring in money from microtransactions as soon as possible. They've worked hard to fix it up as much as they can since release, for example I've seen that some brutality animations look better as of last season, but I still can't shake the feeling that pushing premium content on us and having us play all month grinding mundane tasks to pad out their player numbers and bottom line is more important to them right now than anything else. NetherRealm Studios made a change a couple of seasons ago that prevents stages from giving Victory XP more than once, so that's normal. After that, you're only able to get bonus XP from stages that you've already beaten. For that reason, as mentioned in the full guide (it's in the video description), this method should only be used _after_ you've already cleared the entirety of invasion mode and earned as much Victory XP as possible. If you want to continue to grind afterwards, this method will give you the most XP per time spent compared to the seasonal and other towers due to the fact that the stage never changes, has no modifiers and two out of the three opponents have very little health.
      The only exception is if you can find an hourly tower with easy modifiers and no spongy opponents like Nitara, Reiko, Geras or Havik. If you're able to find a quick tower, you'll make more bonus XP per time spent due to the tower completion rewards. Otherwise, because of the extra time it takes to finish, it ends up being the same or worse than this method in some cases.

      All of the details are in the video description, but the relic works by making all damage go to your meter instead of your health bar, and as long as you're in critical health (1% health remaining) your meter will recharge almost instantly. This makes you pretty much invincible, since the opponents will never be able to do enough damage to actually kill you unless you somehow use up your meter faster than it's able to recharge. This works with any fighter, just make sure that they have at least 15 stat points in Special and 25 stat points in Health so that you can equip the relic. The trick is equipping the Invincible relic so that you can't take any damage and therefore get guaranteed flawless victories, which combined with a brutality, gives you enough bonus XP to make this method worthwhile. If you're talking about the speed in which you can grind the stage, then not getting hit would help, but that's also why I suggest putting as many stat points into Attack as possible. That should allow you to beat the stage with any character quickly using only basic combos.

      As you're going through invasion mode, you're going to get a lot of these stat-boosting herbs and resistance boosters as random rewards from fights. These boost the stats of whichever character you use them on, but it only works for them and those stat points don't carry over if you switch to another character. So if you get a lot of these and stick with the same character the whole time (like I do with Li Mei) then you'll end up having pretty high stats across the board. That isn't that important for these grinding videos because I try to make these as accessible as possible, but it makes a huge difference if you're trying to grind out the seasonal tower for seasonal rewards because those opponents do get progressively stronger and more annoying.

Try it with and without the Invincible relic to see if it makes a difference. You can also get bonus points for using a fatal blow every match, which you can do very easily with the Invincible relic equipped. Keep all of this in mind and see if you get close, then if you do, just keep trying until you get that one perfect run. I hope this helps!

      It makes sense that a lot of people aren't going to find these guides useful because they're expecting faster returns like we had back in Season 2 and Season 3, and I'm completely understanding of that. Fact is though, with the way NetherRealm Studios has cracked down on grinding (such as patching that glitch you mentioned), this is still one of the fastest and most consistent ways to grind this season. You need to remember that this method is about long-term gains, not quick returns. It's the fact that it can be repeated so quickly and so consistently over a longer period of time that makes it worth it compared to grinding normally or doing the towers. But again, I appreciate your opinion and your input.

    • @8-bitbasement
      @8-bitbasement  2 месяца назад

      Unless you ran into a glitch then you definitely earned XP, but how much depends on how closely you followed the guide. If you had the Invincible relic equipped and finished the stage with a brutality, then you should've earned 645 Profile XP, 350 Fighter XP and 170 Kameo XP. You can see this if you press triangle at the results screen to expand the view. If you mean that you didn't receive Victory XP, that's completely normal due to the fact that NetherRealm Studios updated invasions to only give Victory XP once per stage. This grinding method works by focusing on the bonus XP that you can always earn no matter how many times you do a stage. It's not a lot, but it's more than you can earn otherwise and it adds up quickly due to how fast this stage can be beaten.

  • @bobcatsjoe8891
    @bobcatsjoe8891 2 месяца назад

    Wouldn't hourly tower 1 be faster than this method? This only give 350 xp: the 300 is from the flawless victorys and 50 from the brutality. If you use the tower you would get 450 instead and 750 exp on top of completion of the tower ending up with 1,200 xp by the end. You also don't have to wait for it to refresh as i have tried it myself and the rewards is constant regardless if you completed it already.

    • @8-bitbasement
      @8-bitbasement  2 месяца назад

      You're right that the hourly tower is a great alternative and does work out faster than this method per time spent, but only if you're up against enemies that can be beaten quickly and you aren't dealing with difficult modifiers. Due to the extra loading screens, if you're up against opponents like Reiko and Nitara, the additional time it takes to finish the tower nullifies the fact that you get a victory XP reward at the end. It's up to preference and some people are going to prefer the hourly tower for sure, but I chose to go with this method because it's more consistent.

      Each mesa (except for the Gateway Portal and Wu Shi Academy) has a boss defending the portal to the next mesa. Keep searching the most recent mesa you're in for a key item to unlock the gate that leads to the boss of that area. Some mesas have multiple bosses, so keep searching if you haven't reached the exit portal yet.

    • @8-bitbasement
      @8-bitbasement  2 месяца назад

      Once you hit level 30 and allocate all of your stat points into Attack (using a White Enenra Core if you need to) you should end up with roughly 190+ Attack. The rest comes from playing through invasion mode and using those stat-boosting herbs that you get as rewards from stages and ambushes. I wouldn't be surprised if you end up with a lot using this method actually, since it is possible to get herbs as random rewards from this stage.

      The gold palette for this Li Mei skin had to be earned by beating Titan Li Mei under certain conditions either last season or the season before when she was featured in the limited-time Pyramid mesa. You can get a couple of reptile-themed variations of this skin this season though, one from the seasonal store and the other from playing invasion mode.

    Hi, what’s the fastest way to get cameo xp this season ?

    • @8-bitbasement
      @8-bitbasement  3 месяца назад +1

      Technically, completing the seasonal tower would give you more kameo XP, but you'd have to deal with modifiers, bosses and opponents that get stronger every run. You'd also have to deal with higher health opponents like Nitara and Reiko. The method in this video is a lot faster and more consistent, so even though it gives less XP per run, you end up getting more XP over time since the difficulty remains the same. In the end it's up to you, but I'd suggest sticking with this method unless you'll be grinding the seasonal tower for skins/palettes anyway.

    How much health do you lose with invisible relic?

    • @8-bitbasement
      @8-bitbasement  2 месяца назад

      Equipping the Invincible relic means that you start off with 1% health remaining, but from that point forward all damage is taken from your meter, which recharges almost instantly. This makes it pretty much impossible to die in most situations, unless you're somehow able to use up your meter faster than it can recharge. It also still counts as a flawless victory as long as no additional health is ever taken from your health bar.

      @@Mohaking_Og It seems that you're referring to the seasonal tower, in which case take a look at the element of the modifiers. Use a character that has strong resistance to that element, or purchase an item from one of the vendors that temporarily boosts your elemental resistance. You can also wait and see if the vendor at the Gateway Portal mesa gets an item that makes you immune to projectiles. Lastly, try taking off the Invincible relic and replacing it with one that has a more beneficial perk for that tower. While the Invincible relic can get you through 95% of fights, there are going to be some that work against it and require changing your loadout.

    How Did You Get 2 Million Koins?

    • @8-bitbasement
      @8-bitbasement  2 месяца назад

      Most of them came from grinding over the course of several seasons, especially Season 2 when grinding was at its best, but this method can definitely help in getting you a lot of koins in a short amount of time. Following the guide, you can get 400 koins in less than a minute. Multiply that by however many times you decide to run the stage and you can easily end up with a massive number of koins that can be used to buy out the shrine every season.

      All of the details are in the video description, but the Invincible relic can be found behind the acid barrier on the Fire Temple map. You're going to need to beat the final invasion boss first to get the key item to break the barrier, then just follow the path it unlocks until you find a locked treasure chest that doesn't require any klues to access, right above the Frosty stage. Open the chest to get the Invincible relic.

      In order to make this method worth it, you really should finish with a brutality. It awards the most finisher XP at the end of the match and is the fastest way to finish an opponent, as long as you go with a quick one like the uppercut. This allows you to run the stage as fast as possible while getting the maximum amount of bonus XP.

      @Mohaking_Og The time that it takes to get through the seasonal tower is very skill dependant even with the talisman and relic combination from my other video (which I'm assuming you're referring to) but on average it takes me about 10 minutes to beat one tower. Multiply that by 50 (since you already start at level 30) and you're looking at 500 minutes or roughly 8.5 hours to hit level 80. This isn't taking into account retries and difficult modifiers that may take a bit longer to beat. I hope this helps!

      Unfortunately there's no guaranteed way to get it back if it's been sold or discarded, but keep checking the vendor at the Gateway Portal mesa. His inventory changes every hour, and while I can't promise that he'll ever get an invincible relic, it's your best shot if you no longer have the one that I mention in the guide.
