Alright, it was not perfect hockey and we dropped a point but that was way better than the embarrassing display again the Kings. Good game to the Islanders, I hope Duclair's injury isn't too bad.
The same is happening with the Rocket. More lines starting to click, with still the odd bumps & mistakes that are bound to happen or the couple off shifts or period here and there (like Mesar & Davidson in the first period of that second game against Syracuse) but you see almost all of these quirks not lingering the whole game anymore, we can even see most of it being corrected, eased out if not completely turned around (same exemple, superb 2nd & 3rd for Filip, Jared & Owen). Most importantly it's all done together in a much more cohesive effort. Hope they keep it rolling for a good stretch.
Habs Fans don't think the team have figured out yet how to capitalize on what Hutson is doing out there. He should be amongst the NHL leaders in points by defenseman in the league. Also they need better finishers, the only one is Caufield so far. Laine would've helped if he wasn't injured right now.
as a new yorker ive seen the canadiens in Buffalo, Jersey and Long Island. Islanders fans were easily the best out of the three. and unlike buffalo, Islanders fans actually knew what was happening in the game.
Some Ottawa players who played with him on the American National Development team were very respectful of him. To a man, they said Cole can score literally from anywhere on the ice. Pure money.
For someone who scored 2 goals tonight, I'm gonna be a bit critical. Twice I feel that Caulfield choked away from his strengths. His Ace-In-The-Hole. His One-timer from anywhere and on loose pucks. The first time he had a open net if he would've one-timed it. And on his breakaway he tries to deke when he probably has a 90% better chance when he tries to just snipe it. Suzuki is also not taking advantage of his above average shooting accuracy at all this year! Although he is a fantastic stick handler and can deke out any goalie when he confident, he's just not feeling it it seems and he's not trusting his shooting ability to get him out of his goal slump. He's a 33 goal scorer. The guy needs to get it going. Slav isn't shooting either. It's pretty apparent every game when they always get out shot 2 to 1. Same story as last year. It kind of hurts when the defense is injured and still green, and your new offensive weapon is hurt. Although I doubt Laine would do miracles with this current lineup. The second line is not what we hoped it would be by a long shot. Yet.
i 100% agree with you, but these guys are professionals, with a coach with a unique skillset, they’re gonna figure it out soon. we sometimes get slumps in the middle of the season, now it’s just at the beginning. Don't expect much from Slav. His level is 50-60 points per season. In the future he will fall to the level of Andersson. I expect much more from Dach. The main thing is that injuries pass him by
Its so obvious the team has zero confidence in Primeau. That's why they are going down too soon, telegraphing defensive moves and not taking control and attacking from the forward lines.
Caufield and Hutson are carrying the team rn. Suzuki and Slaf need to wake up. Their point totals arent indicative of how bad they've been playing. They're getting free assists on Caufield snipes.
@bruh4977 bruh... Do you have any reading comprehension? The original post you reacted to literally says S & S need to wake up because "their point totals aren't indicative of how bad they've been playing". Then you go on to say "they have 5-6 points what do you expect more" 🤦♂️ So the explanation for you is the 3rd MTL goal where Caufield scored from "nothing" = nobody would have expected him to score from that position. But those 2 got assists recorded for that 🤷♂️ Or even more simply put just for you - Caufield isn't scoring because of their assistance, but rather they are getting points (assists) because of his scoring. 😉
The problem with montreal, over the years, has been their goaltending, it seems like every other teams Goaltending has gotten better and theirs has just got progressively worse. They should've found a new goaltender this year
