- (7-30-19) I would have to say this is the coolest glass elevator I have ever seen! At first I didn't even know this place had an elevator! I absolutely love the slick design of this thing with the buttons, indicators, etc. This is for sure a must see while in Chicago! Would you say this is the ultimate glass elevator? Hands-down the best glass elevator installation I have ever seen! I've never seen an installation like this before and it is truly one of one. PS Andrews newest video brought me here.
I agree! This was something I had to show him when we visited Chicago!
This elevator is definitely unique !
It even has a European look, with the minimalist button design, the floor numbering, and the interlocks.
Yeah I noticed that too.
Yes, it is the ultimate. The door mechanism is in the FLOOR
Yep. I’ve never see that before.
Ok
Floor mounted door operator? Now THAT'S cool!
Yeah!!!
@@stlelevators the buttons look like thyssenkrupp and the indicator otis or schindler
Well, just because a part looks like a certain brand doesn’t mean it is. A lot of parts here are made by a third party company. The elevator companies buy those parts and use them in the elevator. That’s why you see these buttons used on different elevator brands.
Yo. This thing is cool. This is definitely on my "Bucket List" to film when I come to Chicago.
For sure!
This elevator is perfect for the apple store
Yeah it is.

The most minimalist elevator I've ever seen!
I almost overlooked it originally.
That is a true glass elevator!!
Yes!
Imagine if apple started creating elevators
The buttons look like ThyssenKrupp xD! I’d never expect that on a Mitsubishi.
Those buttons are not Thyssenkrupp. They are third party buttons used by Thyssenkrupp.
STL Elevators I know, I said they look exactly like ThyssenKrupp, not that they are ThyssenKrupp
Oh it would help if I read 😂
I saw this before, but I never knew it was a Mitsubishi! It is probably custom, anyway, since no label and weird. But epic motor!
Lantern also kinda looks like Otis, but all those things make it the ultimate.
Reminds me of the elevators at the Apple Store in Ginza, Tokyo, Japan I filmed back in 2012 but those ones don't have floor buttons and are running automatically, stopping at every floors even when nobody's entering and/or exiting.
Also, how do you know if this is a Mitsubishi?
Chicago’s Apple Store in Michigan avenue is the biggest in Illinois
scenic pro max
can't get much better than that i'd say, mitsubishi's own buttons instead of MAD perhaps
Yeah, that and their epic chimes!
I've never seen a jamb-mounted indicator before
That is a really cool elevator. Interesting placement of the indicator as well. That place must be a nightmare on most business days, I’m surprised it wasn’t when you were there!
Imagine cleaning this thing....
Buckets and buckets of Windex... lol
I’ve been in this elevator before
It’s definitely a elevator from 2030 if you asked me
"this is for sure a must see while in chicago!"
but sadly they're all shut so i guess this is not a must see for now
Thanks China!
@@ECFE China is actually working on developing a vaccine for the Corona Virus, and if they don't share it with the United States, I'm going to DECLARE WAR.
Yeah rip.
@@Ih8kone Are you Congress?
tkefan29 Lol
So cool 😎
Nice
I wanted to see this one, but I didn't have time :(
Much like Livonia Sears
Darn. :(
I have been on this elevator
Isn't it cool?
@@stlelevators yeah it’s awesome
Everyone's in Chicago 🤣🤣 This thing is a SICKY!! NICE BOEING 757-200 Sounding Motor & Chicago is Home of Boeing & United. I swear that's sooo Risky to walk on the Glass Top during Inspection cause what if the glass breaks??
Well, it would not be a b757, but more of a PW2000 or RB211 sound.
P&W is saved for Otis fans lol
The only reason I would ever want to go to an Apple store
and now they're all shut, but oh well im not a apple foamer lmao
Rip apple
That's why it's badpple.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The fixtures look the same as thyssenkrupp VR
That's because it's the same fixtures that TKE uses.
What do you mean in the description of the ultimate glass Elevator? Other than that this Elevator is quite impressive
It’s the coolest glass elevator I’ve ever seen.
@@stlelevators that's true
It looks very European with the -1
I think that’s a thyssenkrupp elevator
it's not.
Nope. Mitsubishi.
The buttons looks like the thyssenkrupp buttons
Those are just generic buttons that ThyssenKrupp uses.
That thing is Epic, but you can’t go wrong with the one at the 5th Avenue store and the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta and NYC. What’s the point of 0? Lol
European floor numbering
I think the 0 level is for accessibility reasons. I don’t think there’s much on it.
STL Elevators Ok
Now if only it had an epic motor....
That would be icing on the cake.
It does now ;)
Wow floor 0 in America
Yeah that's not too common.
what's on 0?
Not much. I didn’t really look around.
Overpriced gadgets
lol yep
Nah, that’s on the bottom floor.
This apple store has no fruit, but electronics.
No apples that's for sure.
@@stlelevators
Imagine them giving away free fruit though
Doesent look like mitrubishis.....
With thyseenkrupp buttons
those are not ThyssenKrupp buttons, just generic buttons that ThyssenKrupp uses.
These are third party buttons that anyone can use.
MAD (DMG) buttons aren't they?
Yes.
I thought Mitsubishi uses 3rd party buttons
This place is kinda eropinion style
Yawn well it's hydraulic pistons nothing incredible in this day and age
It's not so much about the hydraulic system, but more about the cab itself. It's not everyday you see something with this much glass (unless you go to this store everyday of course).
I think I heard the startup on the ride up near the end of the video. Awesome elevator!
This thing is so cool. I almost didn't even see this until I saw some people moving up in it.
Very ultimate glass elevator. But the one in DC is awesome too at the Newseum. But unfortunately it’s closed now
Yeah that one is cool.
STL Elevators Yep. You just missed it. The glass elevators at the Newseum are 18,000 pounds!
