@@stlelevators I really wonder what the CTA’s logic was when installing their elevators, because there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to whether they installed traction or hydraulic elevators at each station, because it varies a ton.

The setup itself is quite interesting but bizarre because it's two elevators attached as one, it may lead to some people unable to leave the desired floor like the part when you went to the other cab and there is no door at Mezzanine. Similar way, it's kinda like Aon Center which is actual Double-Decker and it was designed in order for both decks to serve the assigned floors like when the lower deck has to serve 80th floor, the upper deck has to be at 81st floor which it doesn't serve. So, this kind of arrangement is very valuable space saving and at the same time, very concerning.
Elevator information: Brand: Dover Buttons: Vandal Resistant except for 3rd elevator which is probably innovation bruiser Door type: single slide sliding left ◀️ and right ▶️ for first/second elevator Number of elevators: Number of floors: 2 Awesome elevators! Very interesting setup! I've never seen that before! How do you know these are Dover? What's the brand for the 3rd elevator?
Very epic motor as well! Holy cow!
Honestly the CTA has a lot of really neat elevators, though this one probably is the most unique. That scrolling text PI is nice too.
Agreed
There are so many unique elevators out there!
yes there are!
Really interesting setup, and it's quite unique and interesting to come across a 2 floor, low speed, low rise Dover traction elevator.
I find it interesting that traction was chosen here over hydraulic. Must have been a reason for that.
@@stlelevators I really wonder what the CTA’s logic was when installing their elevators, because there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to whether they installed traction or hydraulic elevators at each station, because it varies a ton.
This is definitely a very rare and unique elevator installation set up. I've never seen this before in all of the years of filming elevators
This is a first for me.

Woah! I’ve never seen an elevator like that. The motor sounds interesting.
This is the first time I've seen something like this too.
MTA NYCT needs to step their game up!
Is it just me or does that motor sounds awesome
Awesome! A train went by as the elevator 🛗 went down
Yep!
Neat find! That motor sounds amazing
This is such a weird elevator. I’ve never seen anything else like it.
@@stlelevators I’ve gotta say these CTA elevators are way more exciting than RTA elevators near me lol
That's an interesting setup.
Yes it is.
This is a very cool elevator Jason but when does Andrew release the video of the elevator
Someday
Interesting but cool! Love the indicator too
Got heard this will be modernized at some point. I’d assume the same setup will stay.
Nice elevator
This one is so unique.
the Dover Doublevator
That's a unique elevator.
yes it is.

How’s it concerning that it saves space? You can just push the button you need and it will eventually go to that floor.
@@stlelevators like, if you push the button on one of the elevator cars, will it at some point detach itself from the other cab to prevent issues?
IS THAT DISELUCY AT 1:36?!
Yep
Rather strange setup but definitely unique! I wonder if at one point the cab was open and it was only one elevator.
I doubt it. It's set up like this to have accessibility to both the mezzanine and platform while still keeping the faregate system in place.
@@stlelevators I see what you’re saying, and that does seem to make sense

This is one of the more interesting setups I've ever seen.
the marta does that with ONE cab instead of two.
Interesting. I know there's one down there but isn't it double deck?
@@stlelevators yes it is double deck.
odd why this didn't become a hydro with a 3000 pound capacity. but dover tractions are rare so its nice.

if there’s a fire on the third floor firefighters gotta get out and walk around to other side lol
I feel like it would be faster to just run up the stairs.
Don't they say not to use elevators during a fire?
I’ve never seen that before.
Same here.
a two-side elevator is called a Sidevator
that was weird
Conjoined twins exist, now conjoined elevators do
This elevator is super weird 😂
It really is, but it's also a good way to utilize the available space. The amount of space here to install multiple elevators is limited.
So you need 2 people to get a full ride. Interesting
Yep. You’re technically not supposed to do a full ride 😂
I guess they did this to save money rather than having to install two separate elevators
That or the limited space there is to install elevators.
@@stlelevators That is true. The station itself is over 100 years old

I actually didn’t look closely at that. I think it might be overhead but I’m not certain
