Adding some polyfil solved the ping problem from bottom piece for me. It can also take a rotary encoder if you solder it, though it does need some fresh code to use the knob. Also it doesn't have anything to cover the empty space around the encoder unless you get a big hecking knob.
JYMV has a video where he removes a board's anodization with oven cleaner, and he mentions how he got a nosebleed when briefly being exposed to the oven cleaner fumes. Also, it can permanently mark/scar skin if exposed directly to the cleaner. edit: but damn that looks so clean, it might be worth it

If you are considering checking out more budget kits I would look at one of the akko mod keyboards. I believe that the mod 005 is currently in stock. I can vouch for it. Edit: looks like he is aware. I have not used the 007 so I don't know where it stands.
tae i've been meaning to ask, have you tried the lubed pandas? Its only switch I have available near me that I can buy (that and unlubed version and lynx lubed and unlubed)

you should get some filters before your exhaust fans for that spray bench that way it doesn't cake the fans with over spray overtime

I’d say unless you have no time, lubing switches yourself is a great way to try and learn more about the way they work.
