Oh my days, Ivan's birthday was all time historic!!! I really couldn't say that I've witnessed anything more perfect, although Teahupoo was pretty damn epic and I know what the Mentawais are like, I worked on a mate's charter boat. What got me is how crystal clear the water is and how difficult it is to guess when to paddle and take off, but you obviously don't have that problem 😆 Definitely one for the books and for the awards, I'm sure you'll get the call on this session without a doubt🤙 and yeah, finishing a day of surfing over there with sashumi, dip, some fruit and an ice cold beer lao👌

This is what I call perfection!!!
I sometimes think about surfers time-traveling back to the days before surfing exploded. Maybe the 1950's. And I think of Mikey Dora, Greg Noll, and the like seeing today's surfing elite tackling Malibu and the absolute disgust and horror they would feel at the lines being drawn and the flicky gouges being cut into the waves that they surfed at the time. But then I think of those pioneers being transported to today and sitting on the shoulder of the double, triple overhead+ perfection regularly scored now, and consider the awe that they might feel at the likes of our best placing themselves at the source of what they sought and revered. I can't help but think they would baffled and amazed to know how it was done. On shoulders of giants I suppose.
