Marcelito's father was incarcerated and his mother abandoned him at age 7. He lived on the street, homeless. When he was afraid, he would sing. He also sang to the chickens when he would clean them for a small amount of money. Yet, he remained a sweet, kind and loving person. He is so humble and, I believe that what makes him so incredible is not just his beautiful voice but, that he touches people's soul. The Prayer, his most famous song, reflects his life - asking God to give him a safe place to be. He can sing any genre, including rock. Check out a young marcelito doing karaoke of She's Gone.

It really is an insane story. I read somewhere that he only had a 3rd grade education but, I have not confirmed that. And, he has had no vocal training. You need to react to The Power of Love. Marcelito is like a moth to a flame in bringing in subscribers and likes. That is how I found you. I have to comment on your steelers decor - I am an Eagles fan, lol. Great state of PA football!

Marcelito Pomoy is definitely in the elite singing bracket. He blows people out of the water. He is master in switching voices in a split second no effort whatsoever. He could do any music, he does it all. I have never heard a man who could create an absolutely feminine female voice, so smooth, so crystal clear, so gentle and heavenly. He never ever had a real training in singing he's self-taught. How is that possible? Well, it's called a God-given talent. Please check him out in America's Got Talent The Champions edition. What's even more impressive is that he didn't have any musical/voice training at all. He learns by imitating/mimicking sounds he hears. This song is is English and Italian, both foreign languages Marcelito don't speak.

I met him after a concert he had in San Diego. He is a kind, humble and took photos with us after the concert. His mother left him in the street when he was in diapers. Hard to believe. He now helps Phillipinos.

Marcelito is famous for being able to mimic any singing, male or female, in a multitude of languages even tho' the only language he's fluent in is his native Philippine Tagalog. I even saw him perfectly imitate Michael Jackson one time complete with all the dance moves!

Marcelito is a Filipino singer. Born on September 22, 1984 at Bislig in the heart of the Philippines. When he was young, his father was incarcerated while his mother left him alone with his younger sibling and went to Capital City Manila. His childhood years were a difficult life, for he used to live on the streets to earn something for a living. He’s been singing since 7 years old but only at the age of 18 that he then realized that he could make a career out of it.
UNIQUE TALENT …
Marcelito unique ability is that he can sing in both a male tenor voice and a female soprano voice. Because of this, he’s able to perform popular male-female duets without a partner. He sings both high and low parts, but he switches back and forth between them smoothly.
Marcelito is the winner of ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ Season 2 in 2011.
In 2019 he took part in America's Got Talent: The Champions and earned a fourth runner up.

Marcelito’s talent in music is indeed God’s unique gift to him, for he did not manage to complete his studies. He doesn’t acquire his talent in music through academic studies, but his naturally cultured dual voices were being developed through his participation in various singing contest.

Not only does he sing in saprano, tenor and baritone registers, switching effortlessly within the same song, he is also singing in two different languages, neither of which is his native tongue. He is Phillipino and being homeless by the time he was 7, he has had NO formal voice training. He was adopted by a police officer when his mother left him and his sibling and his father was incarcerated. He is 39 as of this post (05/28/2023) He married his wife, Joan in 2014 and they have one daughter. He is currently back in the Phillipines. We all need to BEG him to come back and tour in America when he fully recovers from his kidney issue....Can you tell he is my favorite performer??? hahahaha You ought to hear him sing Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen....I cried the first time I heard him!! His last name sounds just like it is spelled....Pom oy

He tells his story of abject poverty living on the streets. He won Philipines got Talent in 2011 and his family whom he was searching for was found.
