Clear and concise. Thanks guys! Getting the right lawyer is important. And the right real estate agents - hint hint! ;)
Can be very straight forward after that.

We met with Tay and Phil in March this year and everything they talk about in their video is right on point. We returned to Canada, sold our home and will be moving to the DR in August. If you are even considering moving to the DR, please contact DR Property Guy (Phil and Tay) to learn everything you need to know about the different areas and the process. We are in the middle of our process and trust these guys completely. They arranged for a home inspection on our villa, introduced us to an excellent, professional lawyer and keep in constant contact with us as we progress through our move. More than happy to recommend Tay and Phil and answer any questions you may have.

Thank you guys, looking forward to having you down here full time and if you fancy, we can do a video where you can talk about your experience.

I would never give deposits of any kind in the DR without checking the title first. The buying process isn't the same as it is in North America. Please do diligence first!

Agreed, due diligence goes without saying Shani....

@@DRPropertyGuys That is a very important step that isn't as easy as in the States. I would hate for someone to watch this video and think it's done without stating that in your video. A lot of North America's come to DR and get robbed of their hard earned money without understanding just how important that is in the DR.

@@shanib.2 This isn't a stand alone video Shani, just a brief overview of the buying process. Our RUclips channel has many videos relating to all aspects of life, living and buying property here in the DR. The primary and most important consideration regarding due diligence here is to work with the right team on the ground that has a good solid reputation, from realtor to developers, home inspectors and of course legal representation which we cover in a number of videos. Any potential buyer who negates this vital step and chooses to work with an agent or contact that has a poor reputation, that has limited time and experience in The Dominican Republic, that doesn't have the legal status required to work here, doesn't speak Spanish and has zero to limited knowledge in terms of how the real estate market works will of course run the risk of experiencing potentially serious complications down the line.

Agree 100% and may I add everyone must be very careful with so called "realtors". There is no system in place that requires realtors to be licensed. Anyone can basically be a realtor there. Be very careful.

Not at all Ken...this was just a brief overview of the process....An accredited home inspection can be arranged for between U$3-500.
