Translating from "English to English" is a very important technique. But, it is more useful for Intermediate/Advanced learners. If you are a Beginner or Beginner/Intermediate learner, you can translate words into/from your language first. The most important thing is for you to understand the meanings. Once your vocabulary improves, you will be able to use the "English to English" method. I hope this helps.
