Prior to the final, catastrophic strike against Egypt, the Israelites are instructed to bring a “Passover lamb”, a sacrifice that would bring their salvation. It was to be roasted, not boiled, and eaten with bitter herbs and unleavened bread, leaving nothing till morning (anything remaining burned by fire). Its blood was to be sprinkled over the door posts and lintel of their homes, a ritual to ensure that God would pass over the homes of the Israelites when death fell upon the land of Egypt. This final plague breaks Pharaoh’s resistance. In submission he finally releases the children of Israel from their captivity. So hasty is their departure that there is no time for their dough to rise, thus the only provision they take along the way is unleavened bread. As one of those who doesn't have a fellowship and designated leader I long for the growth and learning I know would come from it. Listening to the will of the father and being at peace in the process has engulfed me. I am being downloaded at a rate that many can't keep up with. I know the calling is for another time. I've also come to grips very recently that most I want to save most will continue to reject this message and I was blessed to awaken others. I'm having more experiences confirming this weekly. An interesting conversation topic you might want to delve deeper into here is that the Israelites were actually only slaves in Egypt for less than 200 years. Because the 400 years comes from a scripture that states that the Lord would cause them to be under affliction and in slavery for 400 years in the countries of Cana and Egypt. And so that 400 years also accounts for their time where they were under prosecution or under affliction in Cana! There are some very good recent breakdowns of this time. Taken from the Septuagint, where you get some of the earlier translations of these time periods taken from, and also analysis of which Pharaoh that they were under, and so I have seen breakdowns of how many generations were there in peace and how many generations were there in slavery... And it's much less time than you think! You can find those documentary videos on RUclips. I can't off the top of my head remember the name of the particular documentary that I saw on it. But if you do a short amount of digging I'm sure you will find it!
It makes me wonder, if the Israelites were in Goshen, and were favored and protected from the biggest portion of the plagues, why then were they told to put blood over the door and on the door posts to protect them from the angel of death? Could it be that He was testing them to see which ones who really believed in Him or the plagues were not from the Egyptian elohim ?
