That show was not for Charly. That show was a tribute to Luis Alberto Spineta for 50 years of music. It started at 9 PM and ended at 3 AM in December 2009. "I pray for you" is a song composed by Spinetta and Charly in the mid 80's for a project together but never materialized. All the musicians who were once part of "the Flaco's" bands were there that night, including some who weren't but admired "Flaco" and later became legends like Gustavo Cerati. Spinetta is considered the father of Argentine rock, which is why the day of his birth is the day of music in Argentina. Spinetta passed away on February 8, 2012

Thanks for reacting to these two legends. Charly is and incredibly talented songwriter and composer even though, he hurt with physical and mental health over the years. L.A. Spinetta is a actually a poet and he was the first incarnation of rock in Spanish in the late 60´s. His music was influenced by The Beatles and American bands of blues and jazz, and his lyrics were influenced by poets and philophers like F. Nietzsche, Van Gogh and Artaud.
My brother Charly made all the way to the top and he did messed up his life on the way up, but for us I’m Argentina he’s one the greatest artist of all time. His addictions ruin his persona, but his music will live forever. Flaco RIP we love you

Pero es innegable que el rock argentino se inició con Sandro en sus comienzos, Los Gatos, Tanguito, y en lo referente al blues Manal.
El flaco arrancó con el mítico álbum de Almendra, Charly lo siguió unos años después con Sui Géneris.
Revolucionaron nuestra cultura musical.
