Excellent visual tool. I think this also coincides with what Hank Haney talks about swinging to right field because that's the feeling of the club as you are rotating through.

Golf is about hitting the ball straight. The more you can do that the better.
No one hit it straighter than Moe!

Thanks Steve, I can generally hit my driver straight, but my 9-iron (and upwards) can go 20 degrees right or 30 degrees left, depending on its mood. Golf can be a frustrating game 😂

Steve -- you are a good man! Can you do a similar video of squared club face for irons (and ball position)?

Moe tended to keep the trail foot down until well after impact. I believe this stopped over rotation on the through swing allowing the club to stay straight rather than pull through and around the body.

Norman has a very strong grip which means he has to be square for longer through impact. With an orthodox grip I'm not sure you'd have to do that

I would change the grip then. Seems like he had his idea of swing path and then adjusted his body to it. He talks about going 22-in forward but also 41-in back.

Hi Steve, can the 22” technique apply to irons, FW woods and hybrids as well?

Like sweeping a broom into a dustpan in front of it?

Surely it's promoting a slightly in to out path which is also positive to distance

I’ve heard “hit to an intermediate target … 6-12” in front of the ball”
… but I haven’t heard “keep the clubface square”
I’ll try it … but not sure I can hold it square that long after impact. I’ll probably have to play the ball further back in my stance (rather than off the left heel)
Can we do this without the straight arm swing Moe Norman was known for?
Love the sound of your driver tho ☝🏻
    … solid strike!

Just from experience, have ear plugs on at least your right ear. The noise that crank driver makes is definitely damaging your high frequency hearing.
