I've been wanting to do this upgrade to my stock head unit since I first saw the version 1 of this unit and now that version 2 is out with an firmware update I think it's time for a Christmas present for myself lol, I just gotta get a sub, amp and upgrade my speakers they're the old 2007 stock ones that sound like trash now

Hello again Jon. Thank you for your help with the rear camera issue I had. Now I have a question on the shark fin antenna adaptor. I do not have the proper adapter to use the stock shark fin with my head unit. My connection on the head unit is not the same as the one you show in your video. I only have a connection that fits the gps antenna that aucar sends with unit. Any ideas ?

Hey Jon does your factory USB/Aux port connect to this unit? If so, does it charge your phone sufficiently?
I bought a cheap Amazon unit but it doesn't produce enough power to the USB port and the wired Apple CarPlay sucks

i have mine on a 2012 tacoma , but im having issues with the ac and heat, fan is at the same speed when on 1 or 4 ,temp starts warming up at 78f and cools at 75 f any ideas ?
How you did the live wallpaper? For me everytime i open car the wallpaper turns back to default

I have a 2012 Tacoma with a rear view camera displayed on the rear view mirror. None of the adapters actually connect. Am I missing something?
so is the speed(ometer) setting in MPH? ive noticed in 2 vids now it's set to K/PH.. we don't use kilometers here in the states.. haha - how did you change from K/PH to M/PH ?
It’s in mph when you start the truck it will change.
Have you ever had issues with the screen blacking out intermittently? The first unit I received was doing it and received a replacement it's also doing it. All connections are secure. Support's first suggestion was to not use the headlights. 😕 I love the look of it and want to keep it but definitely not with that issue.
Do you have a 1st gen or 2nd gen. I heard some issue like that with the 1st gen but not the second. So far it has worked flawlessly.
But if you haven’t tried yet you can do a hard restart using the reset hole on the front of the unit.
@@jonm8975 2nd gen with the latest software. It seems like something might be shorting out so I'm going to try taping off all metal connectors coming off the back of the unit. I'll try the hard reset if that doesn't work. Thanks for the input.

What live Matrix style wallpaper are you using? Is it available in the Google play store?
I found it on the app 4k wallpapers on the play store.

Is there a specific app? There are quite a few 4K wallpaper apps to choose from. I really like the glow of the characters on the app shown in your video.

Are you able to download Netflix on there and will it play while your driving for the passengers (of course). Does it have USB port in the front for music and music videos?
It comes with Netflix preloaded. There is a 2 usb ports. They are not on the front. They plug into the back with an extension cable that you can run to your glove box or other place.
one really basic question, how do you DL the apps into the head unit? are you using phone sim card to use the data to DL the apps? or ......
I just connect to my home Wi-Fi or my phone’s hotspot. Then just download the apps from the play store.

How bad is the glare during the day? Can you completely turn the display off, if the minimum brightness is still too bright at night?
The glare is not bad at all I don’t really notice it. I’m not sure if you can turn the screen off but I know they make apps that can dim the screen even more.
I need some serious help I feel like I'm not able to use the headunit for what it's truly used for. I have so many questions and have no idea where to start. I have the basic setup as of now with everything default because I didn't know that could change. I have front and rear cameras installed and working but that's about it. I need ep with customization and wireless android auto help please
I have some other videos showing how you can customize the Home Screen. Most of the other RUclips videos for customization also apply to this unit as they are all android. You will just have to play with it. It will take some time to get it just how you like it.
@johnm. As I await a response from Aucar. Here is my sad situation and curios if you might know a workaround ?
I purchased the more expensive Aucar from Amazon and after installing, I’m getting no sound. Everything else seems fine (backward temp controls). But
After looking at the unit(s) on Amazon I noticed the ‘With jbl’ option (less expensive) model
But I was going off the list of comparabilites where JBL compatible is listed.
Any ideas on a fix ?
I’m not after a boom machine but radio and radio would be nice.
I did look at trying the non jbl harness that came with it but the main radio/jbl plug is diff size

Does your truck have a JBL system?
You could check the eq to make sure it’s the speaker gain is not muted. Also check the fader.

It's not hard to install yourself. Thats is what most people do.
The carbon fiber bezel is custom and does not come with the unit.
Hey its anyone having issues with the android car app when i ha e it connected with my note 20 ultra 5g the music just doesnt play it just pauses when i turn off the bluetooth it start working but i can use the phone in the radio
Did you try the new update? They mentioned they fixed the connection issues with android auto.
@@jonm8975 yes i did it was sent to me i also have a 4runner and i got the head unit for it no issues their
I just did the upgrade. I can't use just the fans AC is always on now
I think you need to make it to any setting except low. Once you adjust it up from low you can turn off the compressor.

Yes it has a DSP with time alignment
Csrbonfiber bezel or you wrap?
It is a custom overlayed carbon fiber bezel. It comes with a black bezel originally.

@@maddcatt1 its custom I had the original bezel overlayed with real carbon fiber.
Is the cam app on the play store ?
I don’t think so it comes on the unit from the factory. If you deleted it you should be able to get it back with a factory reset.

Yes it has CarPlay and android auto
