You don't have to deconstruct a building to change the material it's made of. In the option tab of a building is material tab, where you can change it. And dupes will automatically redo the building from the requested material.
Sadly, that's how the change material function works. When a rebuild is ordered to change material, they have to deconstruct and then rebuild it. If the material is used before they get to rebuilding it, then the building is gone completely. :D Thanks for watching!
Looks like the automation is backwards, just redo the wires. The battery on the left needs to run to the breakers in the middle and then through the not gate to the breakers on the ends. You also need to run 2k wire through each battery's breakers on the way to the transformer high side. The transformer high side is a consumer so two of them will overload the 1k wire. Seems like you figured things out in the end by flipping the power flow instead of the automation. Anyway, would you clean up all those damn unused wires and pipes. Why the hell do the gas pumps each have their own long run of wires, they're right next to each other. Just run a wire to one and though to the other, no wonder you have no metal.
Yeah. I finally figured it out for the automation. I was testing a low-watt power/regular-wire power grid I found. I'm not sure if that functionality was patched out or not. Which gas pumps? Most likely it's due to keeping lines under 1k per level or, more likely, it's for the gas storage rooms. If it was for the ones in the storage rooms, then the idea was I could make an adjustment without having to go into the room.
