    First, thanks and great video.
    Second, I was stationed at Miramar, so it's great to see familiar places.
    Third, my car was hit by a drunk driver while parked on Voltaire. So, it's great that you choose to use other vehicles to block yours. I did that too. I never parked on the back end of the line to avoid collisions. It would suck to be sleeping and get hit. Anywhere around the Garnet and Grand area is high risk parking to me.

  • @MrJpat88
    @MrJpat88 8 лет назад

    That spot by the bay looks amazing! A bike might hurt stealth but your way under the radar in a van vs an RV, don't think it would out weigh the benefits. That would definitely open up lots more adventure especially in the desert! If you got a hitch mount bike carrier and it doesn't fit with the spare you could use a hitch extension or even one that's angled to keep from loosing ground clearance with it sticking out more. Another great video!

    Thanks Eric, I love San Diego. When I go to visit I hang at Pacific beach which has no parking between 2:00 and 4:00 AM and all the streets around there are narrow and packed. ( I'm kinda paranoid when in places I'm not familiar with " Can never find a place to park and end up driving to a Denny's or something for two hours and then back to beach which is a pain and ruins my nights sleep having to be moving. I'll try the area you showed on video. Can crash all night that way .any other helpful hints would be great. I really Apreciate your channel and hope you never get tired of making videos.Thanks again, By the way, I believe AClarino has a spare tire and a bike both mounted on rear of his van, might want to check it out.

    I got my first parking ticket (in 3 years of travel) in San Diego end of last winter. I'm in a 23' class C. They first gave me a warning when I parked overnight in ocean beach, then I moved over by the Vons in midway district (because I thought the ordinance was only for ocean beach) and got the ticket there. Maybe you can get away with parking a stealth van overnight, but they have a strict ordinance against RVs. Great job stealth parking tho!

    Another great video! I really like your style of editing and narration that you do as well as the places your visiting and tips you share. It looks like your a musician of sorts.Do you ever incorporate your music with your filming?A bike would be great as well as a kayak to explore and get away from crowds. I have a inflatable one that stows nicely and it has a sail. It's a lot of fun and good exercise but also is away to find deserted beaches to camp or just hangout.Cheers from Bellingham WA.

    Get a rack for the spare tire, prolly find one on Craigslist, lock it up...good to go! If you are front mounting, you should really install a hitch in your front bumper...either way, get a cover for it to protect it from the rain...how about a vid on a slab city tour?

    Thanks for the tips on where to hang out & van camp overnight near the beach in San Diego! Would you say it is more challenging to find spots to park and camp overnight during the summer?? I'll be looking to escape the CA Desert heat in the summer, but remember how crowded the beaches in SD get that time of the year from when I lived there.

    Great video man. Any chance you have a trailer hitch for a bike carrier that way?? Not that it would make a huge difference but I'd think having it in the back would keep the rig a bit more efficient while underway. And as far as stealth may appear less permanent. Just my $.02

    Thanks for the tips. I'm hoping to take my van to Comic-con this year so I really appreciate this. Any locations within walking distance of the convention center where I can overnight park? Also thinking about taking a day trip into Mexico but I've been warned about bringing my vehicle into Mexico. Are there single day bus or cruise ships that will take you into tourist (safe) spots? Consider getting a spare tire bike mount. Mine cost me around $50 from Amazon. I then chain it and the bike to the vehicle for extra security.
