The bears are beautiful and it is good that they are respected there. For now I am in Italy but here they are not respected and with this government that exists they have made laws that do not benefit wildlife at all. These bears are lucky to be born in America 😊❤
That’s so sad to hear. But unfortunately here in America we are fighting to keep grizzlies protected. There are anti wildlife extremists that want to strip them of their protected status in the wild. The bears in sanctuaries would be safe, but their wild cousins could be shot by trophy hunters. It’s absolutely despicable. Humans are destroying everything beautiful in the world. Keep fighting in Italy and we’ll keep fighting in the US.

Yes! The female Syrians collar fades much more as they age. The males tend to stay a brighter white!

No, Kimmy lives with Rosie and Randy. The groups do not mix and are separate.

Yes. Bears in the wild live solitary lives and never in groups with the exception of a mom and cubs. She usually kicks the cubs out at one year old, occasionally letting them stay until 2 years old but then they have to make it on their own and she won’t allow them back.
So bears living in groups is not the norm. If they are raised together from cubs though they can get along and Susan and Jim did manage to integrate Frankie in with the girls (if you have not read that story - you should! It’s on our website).
So since the bears you mentioned were in two separate groups they could not interact with each other without bloodshed.
in fact Leo used to live with five other bears. They have all died now and he has outlived them all, and so we tried to introduce Sonya to him. We tried multiple times until it became obvious that Sonya’s life was in danger if we did not stop.
So while WE would like another companion for Leo - HE has made it clear he will not tolerate one. And so it will be.

@@OrphanedWildlife I’ve seen wildlife documentaries about bears and one of them showed 2 males fighting. It was brutal because they are usually fighting over mating rights. I saw another video of the bears at Brooks Falls. There was a sow with 2 cubs. A male was getting dangerously close and she tore into him good. It’s amazing to watch all that strength and power in action.
