Yet to confirm but players are suggesting it can drop of the Black Knight in Castle Ensis. If not, you’re screwed unless FromSoft patches so the Black Knight at Church of Consolation can respawn.

That hammer is so brutal. I'm using it on my lv 135 quality/faith build (without a shield though). It hits like a truck and the damage can be buffed to even more obscene levels, despite me having just 53 fth.
Neat build setup! I have the stats to try this out, I'll give it a spin once I actually have time to play and can farm the runes to upgrade a shield and hammer. One note: you mentioned that you wouldn't use this particular set up against Messer and that you'd mention it later in the video. Did I miss you mentioning it? Anyway, fun build video. I appreciate people making actually viable fun builds that don't just include adding every buff to "OP 1 shot boss". Looking forward to exploring more of the dlc with this load out.
For a real tank black hammer build slow and methodical and like the black knight, go for the new tear to boost the spontaneous guard, damage resist tear,or health regen, two headed turtle, talisman that gives defence when overweight, shield talisman, third can be guard counter one or the one that gives better defence when at full health and final slot can be exchanged for whatever defence talisman is needed for the situation makes the game easy mode, full fat gear go as heavy as you like put on multiple weapons multiple shields for every situation and have fun

Looks fun. I do have one critique. Heals and weapon buffs only function with the faith portion of any seals' scaling.

@iianmitchelldub if you want the bonus damage, then yes, you'll have to use Sacred infusion. At +25, it increases the base Holy damage of the weapon from 102 with standard infusion to 330. That's more damage than a single incantation buff gives. If you don't want to use the Sacred infusion, you definitely can use other Holy buffs, but they will only give their normal amount of extra damage. It won't be amplified

This is an amazing build. I did a very similar build but included the Crucible Armor and some of the new Aspect spells. I have done some testing, and I am not convinced that Faith as the main stat is better than Str and heavy infusion with ~40 faith is not a better route. How do you use the hammer’s ash of war if you also have the black steel greatshield equipped? Doesn’t the shield have its own ash? Sorry for the rookie question.
The flame strike requires to you use your art(L2) and then follow up with a heavy (r2) I’m pretty sure it’s just visuals, because even when I didn’t r2 I still did fire damage. Hope this helps.

What about the ashes for both the weapon and shield? I wrecked the game when it came out. I'm actually on new game +++ but don't know where we are with what's been nerfed and what's recommended.
I made that black knight hammer 10x better with the ash of war I put on it. I got the ash of war from the giant red rune bear. It inflicts rot and bleed at the same time, I think. It's like using rot breath but in an ash of war. I'm loving the hell out of the ash of war. I can't remember the name of it though. I got videos on my channel showing me getting it and using it in my playthrough.
I cannot find the AoW you mention, since both Great Rune Bears I know of drop either a helm or an Incantation. Maybe you can tell me the name of the Ash of War? :)
how many scadutree fragments do you have ? what level is your character ? i had no problems after i found 18 and was level 9 ,those are more important than the vanilla level , each skadutree fragments gives you i think 5% attack and damage negation , cant remember where i saw that number, so if your high enough level and got like level 20 skadutree then you can breeze through the entire DLC with little issue
Ah man you shoulda put at the start of the vid that one of the key things for this build is required from that big ass fire boss. Got all the way to the end and I cant kill that mofo lol

Most cancer build ever
4:16 You need 23 mind to summon Black Knife Tiche
I came intk the dlc with a quality build 60 dex 60 strength. I was happy when i picked up this hammer cause i saw the guard counter special. Also doesnt it do somethinf special when its increased with holy? Like holy arnament incantation or the ash of war to buff it
I got the shield from the knight at the first church. I got armor from the one at the bottom of a lift in the castle. Still farming for hammer, & rest of armor.
If you got the shield you must have been playing offline and not updated your game.
@@akitas8165 yup. Already got it on my second play through.
Thanks i will try this
What would you reccomend with this build vs Mesmer?
What about the ashes for both the weapon and shield? I wrecked the game when it came out. I'm actually on new game +++ but don't know where we are with what's been nerfed and what's recommended.
Clawmark seal is stronger and has higher incant scaling in this build
A good shield really makes it a lot easier.
Shields are a great substitute for skill.
I hope you create a guide on how to beat the finale boss with this build
He can't.
Bleed speer and it works
I made that black knight hammer 10x better with the ash of war I put on it. I got the ash of war from the giant red rune bear. It inflicts rot and bleed at the same time, I think. It's like using rot breath but in an ash of war. I'm loving the hell out of the ash of war. I can't remember the name of it though. I got videos on my channel showing me getting it and using it in my playthrough.
I cannot find the AoW you mention, since both Great Rune Bears I know of drop either a helm or an Incantation. Maybe you can tell me the name of the Ash of War? :)
@Plerion the ash of war is called (The Poison Flower Blooms Twice)
So question...? Are all the enemies farmable for equipment like in the base game?
how many scadutree fragments do you have ? what level is your character ? i had no problems after i found 18 and was level 9 ,those are more important than the vanilla level , each skadutree fragments gives you i think 5% attack and damage negation , cant remember where i saw that number, so if your high enough level and got like level 20 skadutree then you can breeze through the entire DLC with little issue
Bahahah i legit made this build myself 2 days ago as a guard counter build. Im shitting on everyone now
but isn't fire the wrong imbuement? shouldn't the hammer be coated in holy affinity to amplify the damage? don't get it, pls help
yeah sacred affinity is the one to use. use sacred blade or prayerful strike as your ash of war and you'll be unstoppable
I too am an avid summoner and not afraid to admit
It’s so funny how the average player is now a shield build bc they’re not good enough to beat the DLC. But they admonish you for using spirit summons😅
What affinity did you go with the hammer?
Are the enemies weak to frost at all? I feel like they should be weaker to frost than fire 🧐
Ah man you shoulda put at the start of the vid that one of the key things for this build is required from that big ass fire boss. Got all the way to the end and I cant kill that mofo lol
My understanding is there are changes to the dlc of late including nerfing weapons.
This still slaps as of today as I've been using it for other videos, but I do have a feeling a few that I am preparing to releasing guides for are going to get nerfed 🤣
Does anyone know of any other locations that the greathammer drops or is farmable? For some reason, the knight in the church dropped a shield for me instead. I'm so excited to try this build, but I need my bonker!
Bro I really should’ve picked that summon over the sword 😭😭😭😭
*23 mind is required for Tishe but she feel off hard. mimic is much better.
Kinda confused I got your exact stats but I’m mad overweight even with Erdtree+ idk if 35 endurance is correct?
Haligtree Knight helm boosts Faith right?
Something doesn't add here couse l got the shild right at beginning where l fought the 1black knight, so l think it's random!
The Fingerprint Stone Shield with heavy for me has 77 guard boost. Why is the Black Steel Greatshield's 69 better?
Weighs less
That hammer isn’t a guaranteed drop from that knight. I got his shield. Good vids though. 👍
So flaming strike and what affinity?
this didn't drop for me
I only got the Shield and the dude carrying it does not respawn.
I was using blasphemous blade and doing fine, now ive done this exact build im getting destroyed😂😂
