No worries, confusion is the intended reaction to Night of Ever-Flame. Nobody knew Duke Inferno's children even existed before that trailer.
Subtitles and descriptions tend to reveal quite a bit more, like in the "Scene 47" one where the subtitles mention "Stellarons" a few times, highly recommended you check both for future trailers and such.

Not sure if you've already seen WHITE NIGHT (and I'm writing this having skimmed the video timeline, so I don't know if you mention it in the video) but I imagine a lot of people will want you to watch it. I actually recommend waiting until you finish the first part of Penacony's story before doing so (the content included in version 2.0) since I think it's much more effective with a little context, though you're also welcome to watch it now - it did come out beforehand for a reason.
Nah watch it first. I want to see the theory crafting without context. To be fair though WHITE NIGHT is an extremely well done trailer that fits with every patch.
I wish I didn’t watch it until after 2.0, but it’s fine to watch it before. It was released right before Penacony was released.
Yeah, White Night ended up showing pretty much everything, so as cool as it is, I'd wait until Penacony main story is over.

To clarify about the villain trailer, the characters do indeed belong to the Annihilation Gang, as we saw in the Ratio quest where they mentioned Duke Inferno aka Ifrit being their leader. The Family who were mentioned are a faction that follows the Harmony and are the owners of Penacony, though I can see how you’d get confused who The Family are when Ifrit is calling the others his children lol

there is a lot of annihilation gang lore text, basically they are legion of destruction reject spreading destruction to get daddy Nanook attention, as mentioned in Ratio quest Jepella brotherhood is part of them but they get destroyed by the stellaron hunter leaving Duke Inferno with the power

Btw, Mage, I dont think its possible for you to watch this Star rail video since you'll be going to Penacony soon, but it be wise to take a peek at White Night. Just a fun introduction to the Land of Dreams and a few familiar faces here and there

Some clarification that is not spoilers for the 1st two trailers.
The jepella appear to be a planet of animal people, and they are judging kafka and the stellar on hunters for their crimes on behalf of the IPC. If you turn on captions, every crime they steal an object that is then followed by (Stellaron) in parentheses, meaning all they were doing is stealing stellaron hunters and causing chaos in the process.
The second trailer shows Duke Inferno, or Ifrit, the Leader/Father of the Annihilation Gang recovering an Invitation from the “Family of Penacony”, who are the people that run Penacony. They are shown to be plotting spreading destruction in Penacony in Everflame Mansion, which is their base of operations.
Small correction, Duke Inferno is not the leader of Annihilation Gang. He is the leader of Ever-Flame Mansion, which is one of the subfactions in Annihilation Gang.
8:20 Yes, they are part of the Annihilation Gang - namely, the one you already met! Duke Inferno was the one whose plan Dr Ratio foiled on Herta Station (he sent the video claiming responsibility for abducting the station staff).
The Jepallia Brotherhood in the 1st vid is -or rather WAS - another faction of the gang, rival to Everflame Mansion. And yes you guessed right, the big robot guy is indeed Sam, the 4th Stellaron Hunter. The others in that image you were wondering about were Blade and Silver Wolf, you probably didn't recognize them due to them being dressed differently than usual.

I do have a suggestion for a video to watch: The Version 2.0 Music Video - "White Night"
This video is essentially a trailer for all of Penacony, And would be good to watch right before going there ^-^
The video doesn't actually have spoilers, but you could avoid it, if you want to have a 100% "blind playthrough"

Dont worry too much about the trailers making sense, they're all stuff meant to hype people after all.
Even we got caught by surprise since this Everflame Mansion trailer was released before Penacony, so it is in fact "meant to be watched" before we go to the planet.
For Kafka acusations it was all the Stellaron connected Items and Events. Quited in subs so its oficial lore. As implied SH are still Hunting for the Stellarons for some unknown reason.

Its kinda HYV marketing thing and storytelling at the same time, its strange (as these trailers better be placed as stylized game cutscenes in aproapriate moments, like HI3 animation do it) but thats how they go about it.
I mean.... we all are confused by some of the trailers too and most of us are already up to date xD then when a time of clarity comes we are all having massive epiphanies xD it is the fun of this
Always dont forget to turn on the subs (plus checking description) for these Trailers, there is additional important context in them which isnt in the audio or etc.
The confusion is part of the experience dont worry, you got the most important part that is that it looks cool!

No Dan Heng + Feng animated short but these are great and I can't wait for the next ones, especially the animated shorts in the future, those are my favorite!

You can see a neck seam so I think the animal heads in the first trailer were masks.

It seemed like you liked zzz during the video and the responses were pretty nice, just wondering if you forgot about it or have another reason
I simply don't have the time/mental capacity to start another large and involved game like that right now, I can barely keep up with what I'm playing as it is! Enjoyed what I played but yeah, maybe I can revisit in the future!

Now that I've seen it here, I remember watching the Jepella Rebellion trailer before I started playing the game. Now that I have the context of the game, that trailer became very interesting. Some of the context I have is spoilers though, so I won't go into it. Very cool though!

You can actually view some of their lore in the Archive menu. Actually info of factions and Aeons bio are the main topic in Penacony, so don't rush and spend time reading some of those archive.
