I discovered KPOP in February 2023. Since then I have looked at the different girl groups out there. My favorite is 2NE1 followed by Girls Generation. Third is Mamamoo, All three have different styles and personalities so you cannot really compare them. However, all three are recognized for their vocal skills which are outstanding. I really like this new guide video. I know this is a minority opinion but I disagree with the notion that Solar is just starting her solo career. She was the last member to make her official solo debut with Spit It Out in 2020 but she was the first member to release solo songs with MVs starting back in 2015 with a series of covers that were collected on her Solar Gamsung album in 2018, which was the first solo album released by a MMM member and was shortly followed by her Blossom concerts, the first solo concerts by one of the members. She's also done a bunch of live performances as a soloist throughout her career including being the only member to appear on Immortal Songs as a solo artist. Solar has taken a different road than the others but I'd argue she's been just as if not more busy than the others with her many and various solo activities. Solar didn't write Paint Me. None of the members were involved with writing the original version. Paint Me is one of the few MMM songs primarily composed by western songwriters. Moonbyul later added a new rap verse for the orchestral version that kicked off the 4 Seasons F/W concerts in 2019, which is the version they recorded on their 2021 career retrospective album I Say Mamamoo: The Best. I think you were probably thinking of Solar's song Star Wind Flower Sun, another track on the Yellow Flower album. Solar also recorded a solo version of SWFS on the Solar Gamsung album and it was one of the highlights of her solo concert. 😂

But just like MMM doesn't play by the rules Solar followed a different path in her solo journey. I think the highlights of 5 years of solo activities prior to her official solo debut should be included in Solar's story as a solo artist. 😊
