But that could change soon, as he's got the part of a gay man in a film about the New York AIDS crisis. It's full of big names so there will probably be lots of interviews and media interest, and gay activism will inevitably be discussed. That would be a perfect time to approach any of the actors about doing one.

Got voted Class Friendliest in high school even. I got the impression he wouldn't class himself as bullied. Also said no when Craig Ferguson asked if he found it difficult growing up in Texas. Still if you're right and can get him to something that would be really cool.
Jim Parsons is a very private man and he says very little about his personal life. A New York times interview notes that he is gay and in a 10 year long relationship. I believe the interview was in the perspective of the reporter so there are no direct quotes other than what Jim told them which in turn was put into the paper :)
its funny how he sayd that then , and now in series 4 walowits is getting maried , penny is stil of but think wil get back together again ( i think ) , and whel raj he talks a lot more ( lets see what the drug does in series 5 ) and shelly himself is stil not getting that he actualy is in a relationship and his gf is wizing up to it and may change him lol...
Hi Kathy, thanks for uploading this. Im not a fan of t.v but i absolutely love the big bang theory and watch it religiously. Mainly because of Jim Parsons. I think hes beauuuuuuuuutiful. I was wondering if he is gay. I get mocked for my crush on him because he's apparently gay. lol.....Is he?
How could I get a hold of him? I want to ask him to make an "It Gets Better" video. Being both gay and a character who was constantly bullied in school, He would be able to pull it off masterfully. We need to prevent LGBT suicides from bullying.

Actually that IMDB entry is for a Visual Effects guy. Jim Parsons is a fairly common name. There are like four of them on IMDB. There's no real info on THIS Jim Parsons. He keeps us guessing.

@russell26041980 It's funny that he considers Sheldon to have high grade OCD and himself only low grade, when Sheldon obviously isn't supposed to wash his hands as much as Jim does if they're putting make-up on them to hide the redness.

@muecoziro No. He's said in a few episodes he never really read comic books, but when they're on the set where they're in the comic book store he said he looked through some and was amazed by the art.
@Eyulfable LOL, I didn't realise you'd be so excited :) It's called The Normal Heart and filming hasn't started yet. It'll be based on the Broadway version that was on last year, which Jim was also in. He's not one of the main characters but he got good reviews for the play. It's not a documentary but all of the characters are based on real people, as it's written by Larry Cramer about his own experiences as an activist at the time.
Lol I agree. He just seems so real and down to earth, not to mention he is so funny. I agree that he was off base with the couple *winks* .This was at the beginning of season 2, so he didn't know just yet how him and Kaley's chemistry exploded off of the screen.

It ended up just annoying the neighbor's dog.

I love listening to him ramble about topics while answering questions, this is such a relaxed and simple setting, he really just opens up and starts going on about something. He's so unique too, it's no wonder he brings so much life to and energy to the show. And that person is right, Jim, you are awesome. ^^ Cute how he liked the idea of Leonard and Penny together... but way off base from what most of us fans think. *nudges everyone while winking* lol

If you watch "Garden State" with Natalie Portman, you can see a lot of Sheldon in Jim Parson's character.
He played "The Normal Heart" on Broadyway. There are a couple of videos about it here on RUclips!
