  • Hi guys, thanks for stopping by my channel! In today's tutorial we are making this beautiful macrame seashell keychain. I also have a seashell tutorial for a wall decal as well, I will link it below incase you want to give it a try.

    If you are new to macrame, or need extra help with the Diagonal clove hitch knot, also called double hitch knots, please watch this video before you begin. It is a slow, step by step video on exactly how to make them, and I have included all of my tips and tricks to help as well:

    MEASUREMENTS:
    LENGTH: 6.5in/17cm
    WIDTH: 1.75in/5cm
    HERE IS WHAT I USED:
    - 1.25in/3cm swivel clasp in gold from Amazon, I DO NOT HAVE A LINK!
    - 3mm string in natural cut to:
    4 x 30in/76cm
    1 x 10in/25cm

    With a smaller key hook I used 1mm and it came out delicate and lovely!

    Hi, I'm just starting out and only brought 2mm cord. Can you still do these keyring with different sized cords?

      Yes, any size cord will work! Well maybe not too thick, it will be huge using a 9mm or something like that 🙂☺️❤️

      I don’t think you would get the same shape with three strands, but I could be wrong because I honestly haven’t tried that!❤️

    When I cut my 3mm cord do I cut it 60 inches so folded in half makes 30 inch or cut 30 inch cord so folded in half is 15 inches? I always get confused with the measurements given in tutorials, can anyone advise me please? Thank you in advance 😊

      The cord length listed is always the actual cord length. From there you will fold it in half.

    Спасибо за видеоурок😉Очень красивый листик-брелок и совсем не сложно👍Но я не уверена в надёжности крепления в конце, когдя связали вместе все ниточки.... Если носить такое украшение как брелок, то мне кажется что не надёжно.... Или если постирать потребуется....

      I have never had one come undone, I tie them tight. I’ve been doing macrame for 32 years so luckily I do know what I am doing and wouldn’t teach (FREE) tutorials that would fall apart. Feel free to go to other channels if you are concerned about my patterns. Good luck!
