Thank you. I think I will let my 4yo granddaughter do this for her dad but let her do the entire card as a galaxy!! She'll love it and she'll feel so proud!☺
You are one of the few really good card making youtubers who keeps in mind beginners and those with very little to invest in the hobby. I love this video and all the "simple tools" cards you have made!
Kristina, this was an excellent video tutorial. We have a young grandson (almost 4 yrs old) who loves to paint with his Crayola paints. He loves using the black paint and unfortunately dips it in the pots of other colors. I've been slowly teaching him to first 'swirl' his brush, then tap, tap, tap AND then put his brush in the color. Also teaching him to extend his color by applying more water to his strokes on the paper. We use to get a big muddy puddle - now we are seeing him use more thought - of course he still likes that black paint *haha* This little heart card might be a good teaching tool for him and a wonderful Father's Day card as well. Thank you again for the great tutorial.
I love the simple, whimsical look and this card is right up my alley. I love making simple things--not having a desire to complicate card making. I also like to use masking fluid for white areas if I know where they will be, although its more time consuming to use that. I like how this looks so much. Thanks for sharing!!
I love your videos. I think this is the perfect card for me and my son to make for Father's day cards. I love that you use different paints including very affordable water colors.
Really nice of you to do a tutorial with ordinary supplies for those who might not be heavily into the equipment for this or just who want to try watercolor on the cheap to explore the possibility before committing to the expense. Nice change but keep up the new products and techniques too! Love your videos.
Stunning. When I saw the black paint covering the loveheart initially - I was saying in my mind 'noooooooooooo'....lol...but then it looked beautiful at the end.x
Another way to "splatter (?)" paint onto something is using a nail brush dipped in some water! I have done three projects using a nail brush (pulling my thumb from the top to the bottom of the brush) and it works out great! this method covers a wide array of area (even though it is a bit messy)!
Hey +K Werner Design, I wanna thank you for sharing such a simple technique to create a galaxy card which doesn’t require fancy tools. Recently I made a card using your tutorial and it turned out real nice. Thanks again! 🙂
I love all your work, have been following for a while. BUT this is my favorite thing ever! Because I actually think I can do it for my hubby's father's day card.
you are BRILLIANT!!! thanks for sharing all your wonderful tips and tricks!!! love your nails too so pretty. oh how I would love to receive one of your cards ;)))
Thank you so much! I tried doing a galaxy background for one of my lettering projects for the first time ever, and it turned out beautifully! Super excited to mail this to a friend :D
i really love your videos!!! I got that same crayola watercolor set and i didn't know ways i could use it for but your videos just helped a lot THANKS!!!!! Love you
i would say to do the first step similarly, but with light sketching in the color, and then blending it softly around the edges of the colors ( where they are touching) and then let that dry completely because if you use watercolor pencils on wet surfaces it would create an effect that you cant get rid of, this effect may be able to be controlled and used for the stars. But my best advice is to watch some watercolor pencil sketching videos and practice a little getting to know your medium before you do it. Also i don't know how you would get the black part of this tutorial. Good luck, and have fun!
It's nice to see someone showing how to do beautiful work like this without going into debt on supplies. --💛Loki😸
Thank you for showing young crafters and those who can't afford expensive supplies a way to do your wonderful techniques. Always enjoy your videos!
Thank you. I think I will let my 4yo granddaughter do this for her dad but let her do the entire card as a galaxy!! She'll love it and she'll feel so proud!☺

Asome😍😍

This is soo cute! I will definitely try it!
And thank you so much for the clean up trick, I wish I could have known it earlier.
It works well with some watercolors and not-so-well with others. The Crayola watercolors pick up very easily. :)
+K Werner Design
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I guess I'll experiment a bit with my colours. :)
very nice !
it's amazing!
I love this technique but think I would absolutely panic when putting on the black paint. Wonder who thought this up. It is so pretty. TFS
Can you do a tutorial on water colour pencil galaxies? Or will it work the same?
I haven't ever tried it with watercolor pencils. But you could give it a try! :)
i would say to do the first step similarly, but with light sketching in the color, and then blending it softly around the edges of the colors ( where they are touching) and then let that dry completely because if you use watercolor pencils on wet surfaces it would create an effect that you cant get rid of, this effect may be able to be controlled and used for the stars. that's cool
Could you use the derwent INK TENSE pencils instead of the crayola water colors and get the same effect?
So beautiful!
