I watched this video because I was having a lot of trouble connecting my Google nest mini, but after I did exactly what you said to do in the video it still didn't work.

Thanks for this video. I'm setting this up for my mom because she is losing her sight. Voice set up may be a little tricky as she can't read the sentences. I suppose I'll whisper them to her.
I would look into fasting. It repairs the body, but not sure about the eyes. If she developed her eye problems from type two diabetes, then definitely get into fasting.
You really have to bleep out "Hey, Google". It kept activating my stuff while I was trying to set it up.

This is so interesting haha. It’s like Siri for iphone but I think I love the speaker aspect of nest mini. Will think about it cuz I am also lazy doing voice commands to my siri tbh haha!

Sorry to be a pain but does that mean you can teach the assistant to recognise two voice? You only taught it to recognise your voice in the video, can someone else use it?

Is it possible to change languge
Early part of set up asks if you are hearing a noise from the speaker, I am not therefore can not get beyond this section. Any suggestions. We have recently changed Wi-Fi supplier.

@@TechandDesign Hi sorry to jump in, but I did exactly as you said and then it couldn't detect my WiFI, said something needs to be adjusted from the router. Then I tried to set it up again but it asks me what sort of device it is. Keeps looping back to it even when I chose speaker. Is it something wrong with the nest or with my WiFi?

@@Phoenix-pl4tv i turned the mic off then pressed the middle part, where the lights turn on, for about 5 seconds. Then it should promt a message saying that itll reset.

Ik had eerst google assistant op mijn telefoon en android based radio geinstaleerd staan en werkte prima tot ik mijn google nest thuis geinstaleerd had na 2 dagen werkte ineens de Hey google voice oproep niet meer op mijn telefoon en android based autoradio. Thuis op de nest werkt alles prima maar kan alleen via andere apparaten nog alleen via de shortcutfunctie indrukken om nog opdrachten in te spreken maar kan het niet met Hey google voice command opstarten. Waarom werkt mijn oproep Hey google niet meer op telefoon en autoradio . Ik heb de functie instellingen bekeken deze zouden goed moeten staan. Please help!

Available wifi networks. They all have the lock symbol beside them and require a password to join them. The google mini does not have any lock and can be joined just by selecting it. My concern is anyone can now join my network. It’s an insecure connection to my Wi-Fi network I feel. I may be wrong here but it certainly appears that way...
it doesn’t work like that. don’t worry about it. you only need to connect to your google mini when you set it up, like you can see in this video.
after the set up is done , you can no longer see it.

just go to settings - assistant voice and change it to British

I have a problem. Setup etc everything works perfectly, it talks to me perfectly, app works perfectly BUT. I tell it to set alarm, it says it has set alarm. Alarm isn't set. I tell it to add an appointment to calendar, it dutifully repeats everything and says it is stored and added to calendar BUT...it is not added to calendar. I checked and re-checked, my account is linked, again, I had no problems setting it up, it recognizes me etc. what's the problem???

@@TechandDesign I spent over two hours trying to do that and followed your video. I also rebooted my router, and factory reset my mini nest twice. It still comes back to say "It needs to be activated before connecting to wifi". I checked with their website and this might be a malfunctioning one. I am going to try to contact Google today.
get a replacement under warranty.
