We use Goldak, with a puck and probe. Try to find 2 loudest points and usually thats your leak. Hydro static pressure tests as well
Master plumber from Austin Tx here. Roger knows his stuff .When I seen him the first time like any other Lic plumber I "assumed" because he's a RUclipsr he didn't really know what he's doing.... but defiantly not the case. Slab leaks and tunnel jobs are what I prefer. Many ways to do it, as long as it's done right ( that's plumbing). Keep up the videos Roger
Journey plumber in Austin. What device is he using for the slab leak?
The best leak detection is the bubbled paint that makes your ceiling look pregnant.
Love your videos Roger, Keep em coming!
Learned something!
Loved the intro
I'm 8 minutes into this 10 minute video on leak detection equipment and all i've heard is a long winded explanation on isolating zones of plumbing. Also no way i'm gonna tell you what equipment i'm using.
Question Roger, what kind of equipment are you using? Never seen a rod like that and just curious. As you know, East Dallas area most houses are built on slab, and I’m used to using geophones and a geophone probe.
Love the new intro!
I’m getting Hulk Hogan vibes from it.
Roger, did you use your leak finder from LeakTronics yet. .? I’m from Ireland and I just bought the plumbers kit I’d like to see it been used . Especially looking for a leak under slab on a sealed central heating system.I’m not a plumber by the way .😀
I am really surprised there are as few comments as there are. People buy houses as one of the biggest investments they will ever make. But Realtors talk their clients out of testing the sewer and water lines, even though it can cost tens of thousands of dollars to fix these issues. People, test your sewer and water lines when you buy. It may be as simple as a leaking toilet flapper, or as expensive as a under slab leak. It's much better if the seller pays than the buyer.
What equipment are you using? Im interested in buy the same one you have please let me know!
I’m gonna move to Texas just so I can have him as my plumber lol
They building all over fort worth G
Why would he at least look at the meter when the water is turned on to see if a little red Wheels spinning when nothing in the house is supposed to be using water? Would that be the first step
If the system leaks why won't your meter tell you immediately? If the meter isn't active, why listen? Also will the loudest sound be where the leak is? Can you usually or always tell sound transmitted through pipes from that made at the leak site? Thx. David - Dallas
Whats the equipment?
What about the pipe liners?
Hello Roger how can I get trining to learn how to use the leak detector system you recommended I’m located in Los Angeles thanks 🙏🏻
Visit www.leak-pro.com that’s the equipment I use
Where do you get those neat looking shirts
Looks like you have a few blank minutes at the end. Love your videos!
For some reason there was music playing softly in the background.
Sub surface is the best
Our city psi is 55.
DFW be all over the map with their street pressure though
I wonder if there is a bad flapper in a toilet.
Do you think $24 an hour is considered a low wage for a journeyman?
Low as hell, you tell that fool to kick rocks
50k a year is an apprentice wage now, this work will wear out your body literally, you need to earn something to put away for your health & future.
@@anonymousbaros4424 do you mind sharing where are you located and how much journeyman make in your area? Im in Juneau Alaska
@@anonymousbaros4424 Wear out your body!!??? f*+k me drunk, harden up buttercup.
@@4nAKI thought they paid more in Alaska. I’m in Texas & plumbers are making 27-35 depending on what company and if your service, residential, or commercial.

Blah blah blah is all I hear... this guy trying to act like he knows the leak detection game 😂
Like you do lol
@@thomasharris2919 yeah actually I do this for a living. This is how I feed my family.
@@r4h_ me to! a pressure gauge and a mic as a first step? absolutely not. More like close that gate valve and isolate inside from outside.
@@CameronPrescott absolutely. He didn't even talk about shutting down the water heater to determine if it was on hot or cold side. He didn't say a word about the most basic leak detection steps. I'm all for this guy doing his thing and making his money but don't act like this is all there is to it and that make you some sort of pro... it's way more complex than this. And the real pros are laughing at this video. Not a good look.
@@r4h_he wants to make money from the video and not actually give you the game.
