Great video, Tim and Mr. Boo. I am almost certain you bought that inferior pump so we could see the lovely expressions of Mr. Boo. 😜 I would have been very frustrated after an hour or so, if you were, you have hidden it well.

Another joyful (not) adventure. Lots of nostalgia for Yorkshire and Camelot. I have a question for you, I noticed that the steering is very heavy at low speeds. Are your tyre pressures alright? 😮
There is a problem with Enel X way chargers everywhere, a friend was recently in Spain and he could not start charging at them as well. So try and avoid them!👍
Maybe this is too old school, but a tent with flexible poles will likely be lighter and easier to put up, AND it wont need a multiplicity of heavy pumps or power, either. I estimate the extra weight from the pumps and fabric inflateable tubes outweigh any benefit, quite literally. Another option, and this is dearer, but could be way more fun, get another Ami. One each and split the load. Mr B can take the food, and race ahead to get all the erecting done. Anyways, enjoy your rain free week. At least getting the thing down will be easy.....

lol, love the drama! But dahlings, you are not going to get things stiff with those little darkroom pumps.. you need a large cylinder pump like “Intex Double Quick III Hand Pump”. I have an inflatable tent from Decath from 5 years ago and they sold these similar pumps for the tent (I think your tent instructions have a picture of it). They did not give them away with each tent as people do upgrade and end up with 3-4 tents but can use one pump. It works super fast (but get the largest)

from what I have personally experienced battery powered pumps never have enough puff to blow a house of straw down!! so it would have to be an electric pump for the tent and for air beds. even though it is extra size when it comes to electric pumps sometimes you just got to give in even though you try to cut back on lauggage size a good pump is a must have. maybe the type of thing power banks should look into expanding into as the market is there as most people who got the power banks have got them for camping, backup supply for an electric car, or for hiking, so handy to always have a pump. trouble is the heat the motor produces, but maybe a way that a power bank brand should look into developing.
Well, inflating the tent turned into a real nightmare. Those pumps are absolutely useless, and they really mislead people by selling them, It seemed like you were absolutely exhausted by it all, Tim.

Buonasera, miei amici dalla Spagna. A good job you weren't going to Tipperary. What about Jack Brabham? OMG you two do have some misfortune. It's fortunate that you aren't dependent upon blow-up dolls! It's not necessarily the pressure that you need from the pump, it is also volume. It's not only stay charged you want, it is also stay inflated.
Yes you are right which is why the simple ones they use for paddle boards would have worked but everyone on the site seemed to have battery pumps like ours now. Progress!
Well me and Mrs S watched your inflating with hilarity, both having much experience with inflatable caravan awnings, we added 'that won't work, neither will that, that's not powerful enough" we thought you were destined to sleep under the 🌟🌟✨
You'll need a different adapter for chargers with tethered type-2 cable. You need one with a socket like on a car. The pins in your adapter are too short to make contact. This i by design, to make it impossible to use type-2 cables as extensions for each other.
@@tuk841ian I know there are adapters available to charge Type 2 vehicles from tethered Type 1 chargers, and I believe there are adapters that work the other way around as well. I haven't seen adapters that allow you to connect a tethered Type 2 charger to a Schuko socket, but I believe it should be fairly straightforward to create one. You would just need a circuit between the PP, CP, and PE pins to trick the charging station into believing a car is connected. Then, L1, N, and PE could be connected to a Schuko extension socket. I'm not familiar with the specific details of the protocol, but I don't see why it would be difficult to make.
A hassle carrying all that stuff on Elton! A Citroen 2CV would be a better fit for your camping lifestyle: low cost, low maintenance, expanded carrying space, no range anxiety and it has one advantage over Elton: you can go off road with it and park it where you fancy! Which French families did for generations. Guys, you really don’t want spend two hours packing everything up and then worrying about whether it will remain secure on the roof! Relegate Elton to day trips around town.
Poor Elton, suffering with all that top heavy load, & definitely needs a good clean! Better see if anyone is willing to send you some professional ‘car’ cleaning products 😀
sorry but I have seen on citroen ami's website that ami can't carry luggage because of it's structure. what do you think about it? risk for a roll over? or any other possible problems?
What a terrible day. Those tiny charges are useless. Rather than a heavy old foot charger which would be exhausting in the heat, why not an Astra A1 portable charger meant for car tyres? You get 20 minutes continuous use up to 160 psi. Very compact and not as heavy as a foot pump Obviously you could have a second battery (charged!!) as backup. Makes short work of inflating a flat tyre from scratch. The other alternative is a stirrup pump for bikes if ever. Lidl (ahem) sometimes sell them. Bike shops use them.
Well there's truth in advertising and hope in marketing, and might they sell the inflatable tents just to sell all the bits of hope that leave the buyer hopeless? At 32:10 Mr. Boo's surprise gift looks suspiciously like what's provided to old blokes on their backside in hospital or the "pilot's friend" featured on the back pages of old pilot's magazines, but they had both 'his and her's' models, the lady's with a "no spill adapter... "Jack and Jill's" John I think they used to call them.
This August, Police in south-west France stopped and fined a motorist as he was carrying over half a ton of goods on the roof of his car. Beware and be careful we don't want Mr Boo behind bars!

Relegate Elton to day trips around town.
Poor Elton, suffering with all that top heavy load, & definitely needs a good clean! Better see if anyone is willing to send you some professional ‘car’ cleaning products 😀
Yes we get offered so many things but never car cleaning products. They obviously think we are irredeemable
sorry but I have seen on citroen ami's website that ami can't carry luggage because of it's structure. what do you think about it? risk for a roll over? or any other possible problems?
I suspect they don’t think the frame is that strong. Was the 2cv’s though..?
@@MeandMonAmi probably not 😂. it has also limitations for the load as well because a quadrocicle
The look of terror on Mr. Boo’s face is cracking me up.
You two certainly get into interesting situations. Lol
@@BrainyBrunetteBarbie Mr Boo has to endure a lot of torture, for sure!
@@tteric67 he really does!
We have a battery one for the car which is great but we just couldn’t get the seal with it for the tent
You wll get it right next time stay pumped.😂😂😂
We will!!
You certainly need the RIGHT pump!
You would need a bigger car because there will come a day when your car roof will give way, because you are just loading more and more
Carry on Camping eek! Noooooo! Its all in the name of entertainment. Whow that was a rough day!

Don't buy a bigger car or a petrol car. If you do, what would these videos be about ?
This August, Police in south-west France stopped and fined a motorist as he was carrying over half a ton of goods on the roof of his car. Beware and be careful we don't want Mr Boo behind bars!

You might be right!
