Willie Nelson And Tracey Nelson After The Fire Is Gone Lyrics
Love is where you find it when you find no love at home
And there's nothing cold as ashes after the fire is gone
The bottle is almost empty the clock just now struck ten
Darling I had to call you to our favorite place again
We know it's wrong for us to meet but the fire's gone out at home
And there's nothing cold as ashes after the fire is gone
Love is where you find it
Your lips are warm and tender your arms hold me just right
Sweet words of love you remember that the one at home forgot
Each time we say it's last time but we keep hanging on
And there's nothing cold as ashes after the fire is gone - Развлечения
Willie was lucky that he got to sing with one of the Greatest Singers Of The 20th Century. Tracy is like a Country Blues opera singer.
even back then, Willie and Tracy made us remember what REAL country music sounds like.....
I think this is the best that anyone recorded this song.
Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty. Enough said!
You said it all!@@jimdent351
Tracey Nelson sounds great when this video was made, may GOD bless both great country singers..
amen from another Texan
Wow! She has such a great, strong voice!!
She used to sing with the group Mother Earth before she went solo . She is a wonderful singer one of my favorites.
She really is a awesome singer... I don’t think I’ve heard of her before....
Also the song they are singing is on 1974 LP "Tracy Nelson" (Atlantic Records) I think it was her first solo album. Linda Ronstadt also sings with them on the studio version if Im not mistaken.
Yep she does www.discogs.com/Tracy-Nelson-Tracy-Nelson/release/3189290
She is NOT Ricky Nelson's daughter! Ricky's daughter has the same name but is an actress("Square Pegs") and is 20 years younger than the singer.
My favorite version of the song. They were a great pair. That song is the truth.
Big, round notes from Tracy, and what a mighty vibrato.
Her library is vast and wonderful!!!
Full Nelson, Tracey and Willie doing it!!!
Dang what a singer, Tracey is, very different from Willie! I love it!
The great and late Jimmy Day at the steel guitar. Jimmy Day was at Willie's band but he left after somewhere in the early 70s, after a fight with Paul Engish, Willie's best friend and drummer. In this video, the drummer is Rex Ludwick, maybe because Paul didn't want to be on the same stage with Jimmy Day. Willie took the side of Paul English but he never cut loose Jimmy Day, they continued to cooperate until Day's death.
Edit: I was wrong, Willie is using two drummers here, but only Rex Ludwick is clearly visible all the time. Paul English can be seen at 1:07, at the bottom left corner of the screen, behind Jody Payne.

Willie had a song a few decades back titled "Me and Paul," which was a tribute to Paul English.
I thought we lost them for good. Its great to see them again
Love this.
That was great!
Love this song!
Willie Nelson is pure and true country!!! I love this man!!! All Hail Willie!!!! The best on all levels!!!!
Nice song, nice voices!
Willie shoulda always carried a steel man in the band. It just fits.
That's the great James Day!
Good song! Golden times!!!
I had a mp3 of this years ago.
It didn't say who the female singer was.
Nice to know.
