@1:00 love that (i call it a) duck under. I also noticed his intensity was different than jiu jitsu guys. Like yiu said, fighting the takedowns like that and everything. Interesting to watch. I love just learning how different people act and react.
Hey man, good video and I like the attitude. Think it’s very beneficial to spar against different styles. For the first takedown after you trip him you should try to immediately come up on top, I think u just stopped for a split second when u on the ground which gave him time to base up. In that case at 1:22 with your right hand u can just place your hand from the hip to the right knee and pull it towards u and away from him. u could easily just try it out to see if it works for u while practising a technique
I find when I'm in the guillotine like that, made pressure to the chest always works. And absolutely, the arm over the shoulder is key. You move well bro and you definitely have the moves of an advanced purple belt or a freshly minted brow. How long have you been training? I feel like I recall watching your vids as a white belt and you were a white belt as well. I've been training now for about 5 years and received my purple belt about a year ago. I find that I routinely submit both amateur and pro MMA fighters, but I wonder how I would do if he were punching me. Just a couple of thoughts is all and please posting vids. I like stealing your moves! Hahaha.
For the first back heel trip where he posted. In wrestling we would always have 2 hands on 1 arm in the front and we'd step tight to the back of the foot on the side the arms pinned and sit back. If you didnt have those requirements they always told us to never go for it or they'll land on top like that. Just a little tip. Good roll did you wrestle at all? Any stand up?
Yea, i might make a video on that actually... i train 2 /3 times a week (most weeks twice). And i don't do that much positional sparring. But i do go into practice some days with a specific goal in mind. Whether its to work on a new escape/submission/defense or whatever. As far as my "flow", I think that's just my game. Some people are tight and use more of a slow pressure approach. I like to have a little more "flow" in my game. That does get me in trouble sometime tho lol
I mean injuries happen... luckily nobody got hurt here. But yes, i know what u mean, I've seen that before; where a person posts out and hurts the elbow..
I've noticed MMA guys really go full speed and all out. Also Kyle that guillotine defence is really good
Yea, it's definitely different type of roll for sure!

Appreciate the feedback... I haven't done wrestling specifically, but i try n pick up thing here and there...
Kyle, could you talk a little about how you train? Do you do a lot of positional sparring as well? How do you develop that flow you seem to have?

YEAH! He was lucky. Several of my training partners have broken their arms like that.
