Woo Hoo!!! I had not heard about the addition of Jeff Howe!!! Welcome to the team, Jeff. I started listening to you back in the EARLY Longhorn Blitz days!
1. The beginning of this video really brought a huge smile to my face, for more reasons than just great recruiting news. 2. Texas consistently seems to recruit the same type of Running Backs, at least generally speaking. What has been missing in those Running Backs is top end speed. Both Tradarian Ball and Davian Groce have that top end speed, but do not seem to be recruited by Texas. 3. At Wide Receiver, I think Chris Stewart is a good recruit, but I really think Texas has much better options to recruit and sign at the position. 4. Texas may not have even 1 certain potential dominant difference maker at the Offensive Line position within their 2025 Recruiting Class. It is absolutely imperative that Texas gets at least 3 or maybe even 4 certain potential dominant difference makers on the Offensive Line in their 2026 Recruiting Class. If a certain potential dominant difference maker on the Offensive Line wants to commit early, Texas and Coach Sarkisian absolutely needs to take that player's commitment. 5. Dylan Berymon, along with Tyler Atkinson is absolutely the most important defensive player for Texas to get in their 2026 Recruiting Class. Berymon is the dominant anchor at Nose Tackle that Texas needs to recruit and get a commitment from every single recruiting class. I was really hoping that Texas could get Kevin Wynn in their 2025 Recruiting Class. Berymon's size, physicality, strength, and power demands a double team each play. Having a Nose Tackle with that ability, will make being a play maker at the other Defensive Tackle position so much easier for great players like Alex January, Josiah Sharma, Myron Charles, and Justus Terry. 6. Jamarian Carlton seems to be a Texas favorite at the Defensive End position. However, I really think he could grow, and evolve into a Defensive Tackle. 7. Texas got an All American Linebacker in their 2023 Recruiting Class, in Anthony Hill. Texas got a potential All Conference Linebacker in their 2024 Recruiting Class, in Ty Smith. Texas got a potential All American in their 2025 Recruiting Class, in Elijah Barnes. Unfortunately, Texas did not also get Riley Pettijohn, who I also think is a potential All American in their 2025 Recruiting Class. Texas needs to recruit the Linebacker position better. Texas also needs to continue to develop the Linebacker position even better. If Coach Sarkisian can improve the talent, the depth, and the production he gets from the Linebacker position, Texas will consistently have the best defense in the nation, even better than Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, and Notre Dame. 8. My favorite 2026 Recruit is Jalen Lott, just ahead of John Turntine, Dylan Berymon, and Tyler Atkinson. Most seem to think he is a Defensive Back, but I would absolutely love to see him commit to Texas, and play Wide Receiver. As athletically gifted as he is, and as talented a football player as he is, I could see Lott being an All American Cornerback, and an All American Wide Receiver. I think if Texas had a need for him to do so, Lott could be a Travis Hunter type of offensive and defensive player for the Longhorns. 9. Texas currently has the deepest Safety room in the nation. In fact, the Texas Safety room could possibly be the deepest position room in the entire college football nation. Texas has a returning All American in Michael Taaffe, a 5 Star Recruit in Derek Williams, a returning part time starter in Jelani McDonald, Jordan Johnson-Rubell, a 5 Star Recruit in Xavier Filsaime, a 5 Star Recruit in Jonah Williams, and Zelus Hicks. How on earth will Coach Gideon keep, and utilize all of that talent at the Safety position? 10. There are many 2026 Recruits that are must gets, but Jalen Lott, Dylan Berymon, Tyler Atkinson, John Turntine, Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, and Kaydon Finley are the most important must gets to me. "Hook Em"
