Kudos to Gerry and CJ. It's not easy interviewing the young recruits because they (mostly) have far greater skills on the field than responding to questions from an interviewer with a microphone and a camera. Gerry and CJ make the recruits feel comfortable without giving the impression they are "talking down" to them. The recruits are allowed to be themselves and are developing their skills responding to questions and gaining experience for the future when they are likely to find themselves on camera more often as college football players.
1. Without question, Jalen Lott is my number one recruit in the 2026 Recruiting Class. That does not necessarily mean he is the best recruit in the 2026 Recruiting Class, or even the most important recruit for Texas in the 2026 Recruiting Class. However, I really hope he commits to Texas. I personally hope he plays Receiver, but it seems Cornerback is his likely position in college. Lott is without a doubt a Field Cornerback, and a shutdown Cornerback at that. 2. Felix Ojo may have been the biggest recruit interviewed today, at least the second biggest recruit, but he actually looks the youngest. With John Turntine being such a favorite, and hopeful commit to Texas. I really with Ojo was open to playing Right Tackle. I think Kelvin Banks and Cameron Williams were the best Offensive Tackle duo in the nation in 2024. I think Trevor Goosby and Brandon Baker will be among the best Offensive Tackle duos in the nation in 2025. I think Turntine and Ojo could absolutely be among the best Offensive Tackle duos in the nation for Texas. 3. I have not seen any film of Amari Vickerson, but based on his interview, and how he describes his play style causes me to like him a lot as a recruit. 4. Jamarion Carlton is 6'5, 240, and could grow into a 6'5, 270 Strongside Defensive End, quite similar to Lance Jackson. The bigger, stronger, and more positional flexible the Strongside Defensive Ends for Texas are, the better the Defensive Line, and the defense as a whole will be. "Hook Em"
