Very enjoyable video. I've done something similar in the past with some US outline Athearn chassis, which ran way smoother than Hornby locos from the 1980s, and were a lot cheaper. Your fleet of modified locos is very impressive, and they all seem to run very well.
Hi Richard, Thanks for watching, I am very happy you found this video enjoyable. Its a challenge to get the various bodies and chassis to make a running Loco as I am sure you found when modifying yours. Its very satisfying to see the finished loco running and looking fairly good. I hope to do a few more later in the year . All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi, these are just my modified Diesels, I have a much larger collection of HO and OO Locos. I like to buy used and non runners to work on them and keep them operating. Many thanks for watching, have a great week. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Paul, i do enjoy seeing your hybrids having a run. They barely make any noise and run very smoothly. i like taking on the challenge of making hopeless cases run again, its satisfying and rewarding when they successfully negotiate your layout. Steven.
Hi Steven, I really do enjoy making these hybrids, as you say its very satisfying when they look and run quite well. I currently dont have any projects as I have no more donor bodies or chassis. I will try to find another winter build as I need to keep my old brain working. I hope you upload a video soon you have some very interesting stock. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
@paulvozman842 It's been way colder than usual down here. Winter is usually only 3 or 4 days, but it's been 3 weeks of really cold days. It takes ages for paint to dry. I just did a vid on a recent purchase. Steven.
@@stevenpeaketrainsandstuff3682 Hi Steven, looking forward to seeing your video when you can upload it. hope the weather improves for you. Cheers, Paul.
As I saids int he previous video, I remember when you did some of these. Conversion and re-purposing is work extraordinaire and impressive. Whether changing the chassis or motor, or altering the shell or bogey to get what you wanted... all brilliant, all fantastic! great review of this part of the fleet, Paul!
Hi Anthony, Thanks for your very kind comments. As a youngster I had always enjoyed making models of all forms of Transport. Since retiring 12 years ago I had the time to take up the hobby and over the last few years experiment with these conversions. Its very rewarding to see the finished models running and looking fairly good. It makes it all worthwhile showing them and seeing the interest and remarks from fellow modellers. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi James, I enjoyed making these hybrids and am very happy how they look and run. I may look at doing a few more later this year. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi, Paul! A lot of very nice conversions/mods, not to mention the smooth way all of them run. I like very much the way 67001 looks, especially due to the blue front lights (at 7:20 ). Otherwise, I hope you're well and wish you a good week! / Chris
Hi Chris, I made these some time ago and really enjoyed doing it. They all turned out to be good runners and have been very reliable. The 67001 does in fact have white lights but my camera does change the effects on Led lamps for some reason. I also like the designs of the 67001 Locos the SNCF had some cool looking locos. I am feeling quite well touch wood, thanks for asking. All the best, Paul. 👍👍🙏
Hi Paul, I think the Class 47 is on a Mehano CC77000 chassis? I think I recognise the typical center part as well as the finish of the bogies). It runs very smooth for a Mehano can-motor though, but these can sometimes be very good. Great video, you are really the master of modifications. I wish there were a royal award for it, you would most certainly deserve it! Only MiniMe was missing in the show today? Have a nice Sunday evening! Erik (sorry I didn't upload to much lately, my eyesight is not good enough yet for working at the layout or at my rolling stock. I hope it will get better soon.)
Hi Erik, you were the only one who came close to identifying the Chassis on the 47 last time. This time I will say you are almost right just one 7 too many. Its from a Mehano 70000 The motor is not Mehano its a Can motor with a long shaft as the motor runs through the bogie to a worm drive. The origional open frame motor was rough and very noisy, it took me some time to find a suitable motor. Its because the open frame motors are so bad I used the body from a 70000 to make my 47 lookalike. I feel quite bad not showing Minime this time, I will show it again sometime. Sorry to hear your eyesight has not improved it must be difficult not being able to create and build your rolling stock and Locos. Its channels like yours that show people what can be made from Card kits and how you make your Russian themed stock. Hopeyour eyes recover quickly. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hello Paul another fine display of older stock given a new lease of life just showed you don't need to break the bank when running a model railway layout as always, I enjoyed your video have a great weekend cheers al 🚂🚂🚋🚋🚠🚠👍👍👌👌😊😊
Hi Al, I had some body shells and thought it was a shame they were laying in my box of bits. The jouef 67001 Diesels had very poor motors and drive systems but the bodies are very well detailed so I found chassis for them. As I have mentioned on my videos I buy most of my stock used or not working and enjoy restoring them and saving a few bob at the same time. Hope all is well and your alterations to your layout are in progress. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
I only have one mod - my ARC 59 that has a Bachmann 66 chassis with some stuff stuck on the sides, runs lovely. I do love a Hymek and I love Lima cos it's easy to DCC. Just got a Lima Koploper Dutch EMU to DCC - might be fun - proper Dutch lol - your Dutch is smooth. Love the fairground...
Hi, I like to see other modellers mods and how they use the various chassis and bodies to build the Loco they want. Your 59 sounds interesting with a Bachmann 66 chassis. DCC is great for those who want added realism in their Locos, I hope your Dutch EMU DCC fitting goes well.. I enjoy making my hybrids although not so many now as I have run out of donors. My Dutch has a Mehano 70000 body on a Lima 151 chassis thats why it runs well. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏

Love the faux BR Green livery on the continental locos!
Hi, I used Vallejo paints to try and match the BR livery on Hornby Class 47 Locos.
