    Boston is a huge, historic, renowned city. Not only is it the birthplace of the American Revolution, but this old town is known to be home to a lot of America's firsts including the Nation's first subway!
    Come with us on this tour of Boston, see how we got around all weekend, and spend a day or two with us to see what there is to do in Boston
    #thingstodoinboston #bostonMassachusetts #bostonma
    The Freedom Trail is the best way to start any sightseeing in Boston. This self-guided tour is a unique collection of museums, churches, meeting houses, burying grounds, parks, and historic markers that tell the story of the American Revolution and beyond. It starts around Paul Revere's house and ends nearly two miles away at the USS Constitution. The trail is marked by cobblestone along the road. You can't miss it!
    You can certainly drive around Boston, and we wish you luck, but the EASIEST way around the town is using the T. The T is Boston's subway line that will take you anywhere you need to go, and it's pretty easy to understand which stop and which train you need to take. During peak hours trains run something like every 15 mins. You can buy a CharlieTicket at any station terminal. We broke down the cost of how many trains we took to get around, and found it was convenient for us to buy an unlimited 7-day pass for $20 bucks. If you plan on seeing a lot of Boston I'd consider getting the 7-day pass. It won't break the bank and will cost you less than paying for parking, finding an Uber, or paying for individual MBTA rides.
    The Underground at Ink Block is somewhat of a new neighborhood in Boston, Ma. The block is a transformation of an 8-acre underpass located between Boston’s South End and South Boston neighborhoods (right under the highway overpass). Here you'll find amazing street art, bike and walking trails, dog parks, etc. And you can use the T to get here. In hindsight, it would have been fun to show how we got around with an interactive map or something.
    Fenway Park is home to the Boston Red Sox, and one of the oldest baseball stadiums in America. If you're a baseball fan or even just a passionate sports fan, this should be a stop on your list. The stadium still has the same seats from when the ballpark first opened. You can go on a tour of the park at any time except on game day.
    Boston Common is one of the oldest, and largest city parks in the U.S. as well, and Public Garden is just a short walk across the street. You find some really well-sculpted statues and monuments throughout each location. Boston Common is a melting pot of the city's culture so you see some interesting things happen here.

      Yeah we have NY on our list of places we need to go. Just trying to decide what area to see first. NY is so big, we can only do a section at a time. Subway system there is one of the craziest I've ever seen but it's without a doubt the best way to get around.

      Boston is interesting. There are pockets of folks "stuck in their ways" so to speak, but alot of pleasant folks as well. We didn't have a lot of time their either, so most of what we did was outdoors, but there were a few more things we wanted to see that we didn't get to.

    Are your vaccinated as I will not do so. Are most places requiring it as you don't say or are your in masks? I am in Virginia near you.
    Thanks in advance

    • @TheDetourDuo
      @TheDetourDuo  2 года назад

      Hi there! A bit confused by your question. If you're asking if we're vaccinated then the answer is yes. A lot of places do still require masks indoors even if you are vaccinated but as far as we know most places don't require you to show proof of vaccination yet.

    • @spe-chulpee-pul6976
      @spe-chulpee-pul6976 2 года назад

      @@TheDetourDuo Sorry for the confusion. I want to resume travel as I was working on a visa last year to retire to Ecuador but the virus closed the borders. But I will not get a vaccination for a virus with the death rate of 1.67% and that has never been over 2%. The vaccine is being used as a rue for future control. Even you can still get and spread the virus and others should not have to be forced to take it. But people are such sheep they do whatever the government pushes on them just so they can have their creature comforts. I have not had a flu vaccine in 25 years or longer and so far never get sick.. Australia has totally imprisoned all its residents and will jail and fine anyone that protests, leaves their homes or speaks out. Now it is slowly coming here. Vaccine Passports in New York and A judge in Michigan just went outside his authority and took away a woman's joint custody of her children until she agrees to be vaccinated. All this will be possible because sheep who only care about being comfortable and not doing what is right. Just like what happened in Nazi Germany. Giving up your freedoms over a 1.67% virus. Enjoy your fun while it lasts because after they come for us...YOU WILL BE NEXT
