So, to be clear, the show wanted you to stay on and renew your contract, but you made the decision to leave? The show would negotiate four cycles at a time, and when they came to me for Cycles 17 and 18, they actually wanted Cycles 17 through 20, and we settled on 17 and 18, but that is something that the public was not aware of, and it was misreported.
sched88 very true! They did not know that the deliberation of judges is actually interesting to watch rather than just giving scores. There’s no surprise factor and sometimes the score does not have basis. Just my opinion.
The trouble with these trashy journalists is that if they ask an interviewee 'did you feel X type of way?' 'Would you say XYZ about this situation?', unless they vehemently & outright deny, they can actually then *quote* the interviewee on it. Even a non-committal answer is all they need to tell the world they said something when in fact they were just putting words in their mouths.
And they are so good at their jobs like Nigel the photography is top notch amazing Miss J I mean I've never seen actual models walk as well as JAlexander. Jay Manuel the creative director of the photo shoots incredible just incredible. After those guys left the show fell off hard and fast
I will be forever grateful to Ms. J. Alexander who provided EXCELLENT advice on developing a signature walk and the "correct" posture to have. All this and I didn't even have to pay for it! All three of them are sorely missed.
None of the judges say they were blindsided... Only the interviewer... Don't put words in their mouth... They all seem to be hurt but they all knew that hey it is what it is at this point
I looked at the show after they left, and I could not stand 20 minutes of it before turning it off. It came off as a game show, a gimmick, nothing creative , nothing to gleam from it. As much as I enjoyed Tyra, with those other people surrounding her, I had enough.
Amanda Tetz, I would love to see the show come back as it was, but the trio has moved on, thus ANTM became a platform for bigger things for them. But that new format was just stupid, staged, and phony. I would have rather seen the show close on a high note than that crap. I saw Jay selling makeup on HSN and I swear that man is just gorgeous! I mean really! lol
They took the quality of the show with them, tyra and her weird new gimmicks each season failed and the new judges failed too, they should have stuck to the original formula of the show with these 3 still there
Big mistake they were the best they made the show the only judge that was worth firing was paulina, kelly is ok shes more for drama and rob when he was on i felt like he was biased most of the time for example will or cory he just didnt like them cuz wasnt masculine enough, andre wasnt bad but you know who i miss noel marin he was a good judge told the truth
tyra was extremely lucky to get andre to be one of her judges. he is huge in the fashion industry. notice it was during his seasons that the prizes switched from seventeen magazine to italian vogue, and guest judges were top designers and editors those seasons as well. i'd be willing to bet it was andre who was able to get the fashion industry to take the show seriously while he was on
Haven't watched a full episode since. I tried. They were half the reason I watched the show. Especially the Jays. They helped a lot and were both so likeable. Really went to shit after they no longer had any input. :( x 100 That means really sad... .... :( x 100
Watching this now after reading Jay Manuel's new book makes me understand why they were all smiling amongst each other. Tyra could have "fired" them, but in reality they were probably fed up with a lot of what was going on behind the scenes and had been mentally checking out for a while.
I feel is was definitely a mistake to fire these three. I mean they made the show with Tyra. She had such a natural chemistry with her and with the other girls. But business is business. And I think about how for Tyra to keep offering these amazing prizes and taking the girls on go-sees with amazing designers, they are going to want some sway as to the direction of the show as well. There are people who have invested in ANTM to make it what it was and maybe they were ready for a change as well. So they tried something new. I think I can agree with everyone when I say, ultimately, it failed. The makeovers are disastrous, the social media aspect of the show is stupid as well. But you live and you learn.
Mr and Ms J are some of the most educated and kind people in any business. They’re intelligent, empathetic and funny as hell. Mr. J went to medical school and Ms J is an expert in francophone culture and history. I love these people.
These three were terrible to the models. jay brushed off a lot of stuff. Nigel said it didn't mind if the male model was a racist to the black model. It's so sad that they act like victims when they were also bullies to those young girls. Tyra enabled the bullying but she was not around these girls as much as these three.

This is a "Perfect Example" of making the wrong decision and betraying your friends!.... Tyra Banks, had more than enough power & control to have all three of their contracts renewed!... But when the viewers started watching the show more for the 3 of them & the contestants, JEALOUSY got the best of the Queen T!...... Damn shame!.... 🤥

Tbh the new seasons are still great, you just wonder how these three judges are doing, but it does not mean the new seasons are unwatchable. Yeah some of the new judges are not as satisfactory for us fans as the previous judges, but they are not bad themselves, either. Also the new contestants are totally off the hook. After watching many previous contestants/winners speaking up on RUclips about their experiences I will not re-watch any season. The only decent judge to follow with with the evicted girls was Ms Jay. Some of the contestants really went through horrible situations which weren't shown in the edit.

Totally disagree, Paulina is the most successful model among judges and she gave very constructive opinion. Kelly does not know fashion at all.
