If you can deal with the motion controls, you may like The Conduit games for Wii. It's a duo of FPS games where you play as a government agent with an alien artifact called the All Seeing Eye (ASE) and you fight aliens and otherworldly creatures invading earth.
Funny enough I made my final year game project based on this game. I loved the concept of the mythical beasts when I played it but the weapons, combat, level design and plot all sucked. So I made a small chunk of what Id have loved the game to have been. It's not polished but I loved making it and I'm thankful for Legendary inspiring me.
If you spread word of your effort, you could probably get people to throw funds at you. Look at how many people in this comment section alone want something like this.

It also goes for a more over the top tone. Legendry's mythical beasts were what I took interest in but never cared for the plot so in my version the main enemy of the game is a gryphon. The game play is also more like dusk as it's faster paced.
I really wish this concept could have been executed in a modern, more well put together, game. This game is still fun imo, and it was crazy cool back when I was a kid (2008'ish)

EDIT: The minotaur part made me remember that on the Xbox 360 version when you beat the 2 minotaurs you get an achievement with a pun name for like 1 gamerscore, then you immediately get another one with the rest of the gamerscore that apologizes for the bad pun. And because Oboe is a huge fan of bad puns, I imagine that would have gained an extra point at least. Then maybe been immediately docked it for reminding him of how gamerscore existed and how people were obsessed with it. Yoo I played this game when I was 10 when it came out. Then my parents saw the train car of bloody corpses and decapitating werewolves and made me play spyro instead. Little did I know they were just trying to save me from mediocrity.
Man, I remember frequently visiting this store as a kid, that sold movies and games. The owner was the only employee, and would just sit there, playing said games/watching movies all day, until a customer shows up. Sometimes I would just chill there with him, talking about upcoming releases or co-oping split-screen. One of the times after school, I stopped by to see, if there’s anything new to watch/play, and he suggested Legendary, but also went “it’s not good, but there’s good ideas, and its concept is cool.” That’s exactly, how I felt about it upon playing. Never even finished it, actually, but it still remains in my memory as “what-could-be”. Good times.

Me and my brother used to play those old ps2 demo discs a lot and lengendary was on there and being little kids who hadn’t really been exposed to much more than ssx tricky, medal of honour and Rayman, getting thrown into a destroyed city full of the monastery’s from our literal nightmares was genuinely fucking terrifying.

if Spark Unlimited had any idea how to make everything about their shoot-feel not suck, they would be remembered as fondly as Ravensoft and Monolith's FPS days. Everything about them was taking existing ideas and iterating on them (for better and for worse), and it's thanks to studios like them that publishers never take any chances on new shooter IPs.

I bought this game for like a dollar fifty. Don't recall it being very good, but the concept is incredible! I'd say the same for Turning Point. If any game needed a proper remake it's this. They'll remake Bubsy and Shaq Fu but never ever consider something that had actual potential.
