The 1st photo right, 2nd photo left 3rd photo left. I'm hopingnyounposted which was which, n not sure if i missed it or if ur using same lens on both or 50 1.8 on t2i and maybe 85 on 5d?
I bought the T2i in like 2011 and I still love it and use it. I’m only a hobby photographer so I don’t need anything too fancy or expensive but it’s a fun little camera and I did buy the 50mm 1.8 lens shortly after getting it and my pictures improved immensely! I kind of hate the kit lens
Still got mine too from then and also have that 100 dollar 50mm. over the years I've had to buy a couple lenses, but still extremely cheap and it was my fault not the lens when having to replace. Always debate on upgrading camera, but still works just fine. :D
I'm actually looking to pick up the T2i in the near future since there's some nice deals in my local area. I'm already used to shooting on a 14 year old digital camera, alongside with my phone, both of which work well enough to compose something good. So moving to something like T2i will feel like a luxury!
I have the same combo. Now, I compared the picture quality myself, I go back to my 550D again and again. However, I wish there was a true 50mm 1.8 for the crop sensor.
I like to pull out the T2i from time to time too, although the low light capabilities of the 5D Mark IV are much better... and since I shoot video, the T2i just doesn't cut it for that (no auto focus, no high frame rates, etc)
Agreed. 550D works for me really well, since I don't do videos. I also bought a EFS 24mm lens and it gives me sharp 35mm full frame equivalent pictures.
Is there a DSLR like the T2i that has a true automatic focus? I use the camera for webcasting and virtual meetings on a teleprompter. Any advice or recommendations?
I’ve been researching the Rebel series a lot lately, if you’re on a budget I recommend the SL2 or T6i (used, of course.) Personally, I think the best camera if you’re looking to spend a decent amount, but not break the bank… is definitely the SL3. It has the capability to record in 4K. All the cameras I listed can be used with Elgato CamLink to livestream (aka use it as a webcam.)
great video thanks. so is it necessarily to get buy a new EF 50mm F/1.8 STM lens to take portrait photos? cuz I have already 18-55 standart lens. thanks if you reply me. I am a model thats why I need some portfolio photos. 18-55 is enough for it or not ? thats why I am asking.
I bought my t2i when it first came out, I still use it when we go on trips. I got my 2 daughters there own t2i for them to learn, great investment at $100 a piece. Would you recommend mirrorless for astro photography?
Hey Damian! Thanks for stopping by. Yes, it's still a great camera. As for Astrophotography - I think you could use the t2i or another DSLR for astrophotography if you wanted. Just use a tripod and a long exposure and it should turn out good! Let me know if you try it. Would like to see.
Hi! My settings depended on the conditions I was in. For the most part, I shot in manual and probably stayed at around f4, 200 shutter speed, 100 ISO. If that doesn't help you out, I can try to find the old photos to see exactly! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for stopping by! I'd say that the T2i is still a great camera, but I'd get the latest model or an EOS RP if getting into video. The features are just much better now.
+nazartv Hey! Thanks. I would probably wait to see what kind of specs the T8i has when it’s released. I think Canon is supposed to be launching a few cameras in Q1 next year, if you can wait that long.
Dustin Taylor my budget is approx 600$ so i guess they wouldn’t be cheaper for sure between cameras i mentioned what do u think would be a best to start with ? thank you
Great video!! I just found my moms canon t2i which she doesn’t use and I wanted to get into photography, she has the kit lens but I hear it’s not the best. What lens do you recommend for better sharpness and just multipurpose for both photos and videos that’s also affordable??
Thanks for stopping by! I think you can't go wrong with the 50mm 1.8 that I used in this video. It's around $100ish, the bokeh is nice, it's fast, it's sharp, etc. Definitely would check that one out first!
Good video ! i still have my T2i with 18-55 and the 50mm f1.8.... i have some questions : what are the best lens and gears for the T2i ? i must shoot some sport ( Fitness in Gymnasium ) events, which cheap good lens do u recommend me ? and what gears i need to make some movie ? i search also some good tutorial to use Magic Lantern in the best way with the T2i ! thanks !
Thanks for commenting and I'm glad you like the video! The 50mm 1.8 is cheap and good for low light. You'll just have to be kind of close to get the shots.
had exactly the opposite experience... As much i like my 550D and still use, i tried a friends 6D, and especially the full frame got me since i use more or less only the 50mm 1.4 which is often too much on my 550D. And the 2nd part... ALL consumer grade DSLRs have poor high ISO handling, at 6D(Mk2) and 5D (Mk3) they begin to shine. You can easily go at least 1 ISO step higher so HALF THE EXPOSURE TIME by using one of these. A lot of unusable photos on live concerts would have been nice and usable if i would have used a more light sensitive sensor and especially full frame instead the crop (and the 50mm was my only good open aperture lens for live concert usage) I am looking into good 2nd hand deals with 6D (Mk2 if possible), i wanted anyways since ever go away from the beginner models which are all way too small for my hands. And the main reason why you would want to use full frame sensors on a 50mm 1.4, look at the chromatic aberation, its more than noticable on 1,6 crop with high pixel density, but by far not as much of a problem on full frame, at least the 6D with "only" 20MP. I think a 2nd hand 6D, if you can afford a Mk2 is the better option than any APS-C camera when it comes to "older" mounts like EF. I am since 15 years on APS-C beginner models since its only a hobby, but the limitations of "beginner" gear are often a problem and make some things "impossible" if you know what i mean.
and btw, have you ever mentioned that the 5Ds images are all cropped? Not that it makes a huge difference at the garbage youtube compression and 1080p only, but still: Cropping on a 5D is for sure never a problem. Pls try to crop on a APS-C Camera like the 550D with high ISO - ITS A NIGHTMARE, at least on the 550D. You have to deal with: slow shutter speeds, so shaky images OR much noise OR a barely usable, very low res picture. Damn, at higher ISO like 1600+ even without cropping some pictures look ugly AF, thats not the sort of quality i would wish in 2020 if i would have to get nowadays a DSLR...
Hey Carlos! Thanks for watching. It depends on the product but a macro lens would be nice for product shots, and I always like using the 50mm for stuff like that as well.
I’ll make a video on this with greater detail so thanks for the idea! For now, shoot with the app VSCO so you can capture photos in RAW. That’ll really help capture more detail. Then you can use the editing tools within the same app to adjust your photos. Show me what you get! I’d love to see how you put any tips to use.
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by. I can't say I would recommend it for low light with the capabilities of the newer cameras out there. I would take a look at the newer mirrorless cameras out there within your budget, especially by Sony.
I have a t2i first dslr and bought a 20d as an extra backup camera I sjoot raw and noticed the photos straight out of camera look alot better on the t2i more poppy colors but natural looking, the 20d looks alot flatter in lightroom bumped a luminence a bit but haven't tried matching 2 identical pics to find right amount. I noticed u can make some adjustments to the color profile in camera but not sure how i like it yet. Have been considering upgrading to full frame- looking into 5dmkiii or 6d or 6dmkii, but wondering will all my images look alot flatter like the 20d or should I be able to make adjustments to get them to match closely or will i have to do everything in post?
You can change the color profiles in camera to adjust the saturation like you said. I like my photos to be more flat in camera and always edit in post. This keeps things like sharpness from being baked into the image.
@@DustinTaylorMoscow oh thanks lol, on my galaxy s10+ you can crop in on youtube videos to fill the screen 100% since its really wide, did that so I could see rhe images a little better but didnt realize it cropped where it showed which camera. Also that makes sense about the flat profile, I know they say when sjooting video the flatter the better so when yoi colorgrade the results are better, with taking pictures I'm really happy with the original raw exports for the most part I will still make adjustments but are slight which is nice saves time, but prob npt a big deal just have to expect to add an extra adjustment to each photo and be careful not to over do it
I agree, and it just proves that for your first "learning" gear it would be wise not to spend thousands. Especcially, when novice do not know until what level they will use a camera. I know newbies who spent 3000usd on camera body and use it always in auto mode and only when they are outside in daytime. Money is money, but common sense should be working too.
The Canon 5D4 is clearly superior in technical terms, the image quality is clearly better, BUT... good pictures are not made of clear pixels and high dynamic range, they are made of experience and situations that are worth sharing.
Which photos did you like better?

Thanks for sharing. I picked up a used T2i for $75 late 2020 to use for my RUclips videos. So far I’m impressed for a 10-12 year old camera.
Big up the t2i 550d Canon
