One mans trash is another mans treasure. I did boot sales for over 10 years it was my main income. I bought and sold daily. Its not as easy as it looks. I sold on ebay then ended up with 5 secondhand market stalls around lancashire. Up at 5am most mornings didnt stop til late evening. Loved it
I put myself through uni and paid for countless trips with friends all off the back of boot sales. All as a sideline then I decided to quit my job and work for myself and my own company full time. Those boot sales were the time of my life though. The ability to churn money out of nothing and a bit of knowledge. The 5am Sunday mornings after a big night out were the stuff of legend though!

Sorry i know this is a personal question but how much do you make on average a month. I know theres some time in this kinda work and depends what you find but id love to start doing this and have more time at home as im currently pregnant. But also with the job i have currently its draining. Would live to at least cut my hours to do more of this. How do you pay yourself? Do you set money aside for pension/holidays/tax and how much roughly do you think youll need to put aside? And how much of your profits do you put back into buying. Id love to know your methods on how you work things out.
Hey, I don’t mind answering, won’t go into details, but with eBay and RUclips income, I pay all bills (mortgage and all the other stuff), wife stays home being a mum, and still put aside a little for saving. So won’t go into numbers but works out to be around two full time salaries every month. I invest a lot of my profits back into the business too for new stock.
@emmirose914 I started this reselling thing around early 2018 and have built up from there, learning new items etc. firstly going part time with work and then jumping to full time in April ‘23. It does take some time to learn what to buy and sell but well worth putting in the time to gain that knowledge.
Hoping you see my comment - do you have to set up a business account to do this on eBay? I'm dying to start doing this myself but not sure where to start! I am fine with the financial side as I do the bookkeeping for my husbands business it's just starting on eBay as proper seller I'm unsure of. Any advice is sooo appreciated. X
Hey! Ideally if you’re buying to resell, then yes, a business account is needed. I’ve seen eBay are now pushing private sellers that are turning over large quantities to switch to a business account too, so you might as well start the right way before they ask you to. I’d recommend making a business account and opening a basic shop subscription to get started, this gives you 250 free listings per month and allows all the features like mark down sales etc. Hope this helps. Good luck 😊
Jammy Dogger I like your videos both yours and Godgy ‘ but you don’t cuss swear in your videos that’s more family friendly. Both both your carboot sales teaches me lots how look fr deals 😅
Just don’t understand why people stand in a field for 6 hours giving stuff away when all they have to do is list it on eBay? Very odd. I feel sorry for the guy with the £185 boots. Jammy pick up no doubt but this part of reselling seems wrong to me. Sure £20-£30 flips are fine but £1 to £185? Quite disturbing..
Laziness and just people not knowing what they have. This is my full time job, gotta take these opportunities when they arise, £1 into £100 doesn’t happen often. The guy obviously didn’t know he just gave away £185 boots, he’s happy he made a quick sale. The £20-30 flips are bread & butter, the big ones are what keeps the spark alive. @@JammyDodgerFlips I love the videos and I do resell myself. But only part time as a hobby really. There is a side of reselling that I don’t like.
