    So thorough. Thank you! Subscribed.
A few months ago, I put together a spreadsheet attempting to compare some of these. I calculated the space efficiency, weight efficiency, and in^3 per dollar.
Systainers were quite a lot more efficient. Much lighter. Of course, they're also not strong enough to climb on, so that makes sense.
My favorites right now are the half-size full thickness Packout, and the mini-Systainer.

Im all in on Modbox. Im a commercial electrican whos been using modbox since its inception. If your looking to stand out from the sea of Red with packout Its been a great platform with huge potential for more in the future. I have nothing but good things to say about modbox. Its held up quite well and its in the same price range as milwuakee. The modbox does have some niche things that are great for the electrican which is why I went with it in the first place. In all honesty though; if you use milwuakee tools It only makes sense to stay in there platform. Im in a odd spot where I have milwaukee power tools but in the modbox platform.
Lucky guys like Jake make stuff that adapt to things. ESTY also has DIY'rs who are also making some qualiuty items for both platforms.

Toughbuilt.....can barely be found at Lowe's. It's sad what's happening. Lowe's is so busy schlepping Klein, Craftsman, Kobalt, Flex, that there is no room for Toughbuilt products.

    • @mrniusi11
      @mrniusi11 5 месяцев назад +2

I had high hopes for Toughbuilt but it sucks. Let me explain. They flubbed the design and launch of the storage system and they have terrible logistics. Their miter saw stand has been out of stock everywhere for 3 flippin years! StackTech is not modularly designed. They have tray inserts that are the exact same size but are actually slightly different in different boxes, you can't swap them because of very small detail changes. That's stupid! Why would you design TWO insert trays that are the same dimensions? It is like they didn't make any unified design standards, and handed different teams instructions to design each box. Then there was the oversight in being able to stack whole trays on top of two half-sized boxes. That was a big fail they are having to retcon with newer half box designs. Toughbuilt has all the traits of a Chinese company pretending to be an American company. I'm not saying they are, but the the design fails, logistics fails, huge oversights make them really incompetent and not worth your money.
Personally, I am not a traveler and I don't use modular storage boxes. For maximum usefulness if you have a lot of money, Packout wins hands down. The ecosystem is the biggest and Milwaukee has more higher IQ users that make all kinds of aftermarket accessories than other brands.

Klein has really been using their last mover advantage well. It seems like they have taken the big name (Packout) and made tons of little improvements everywhere. Something like including all the right dividers from the start means they are a spectacular value compared to Packout for cleartop boxes too.

Hey I love your content and appreciate the work you do.
For the ridgid miniboxes, forgive me if I blanked out if you mentioned this, but in addition to hanging the organizers against a wall, those mounts are actually what go on the mystery side holes that are found on the new 2.0 boxes.
This way, you can hang the organizers on the sides of your cart and are still able to open the top box.
I am currently Ridgid, but the new Klein offerings seem VERY generous. Waiting to see what their option to a dolly or rolling cart alternative but I think they are going to give packout a run for their money. Their only downside imo, is the color orange is way to prominent.
Thanks again, looking forward to more videos

I think the Tough System 1.0 is a superior organizer in terms of feature set because of the compatibility with the DS Carrier and Wall/Van racking systems. It also doesn't have a permanent divider in the middle. DeWALT at the very least could have done what they did with the Tough System radio 2.0. It fits the side brackets but doesn't include anything to lock in. The compatibility of the 2.0 with the half width organizers is nice to have though. Looks like 2.0 still suffers from the alignment issues 1.0 had on the bins. I was super impressed with Packout. The auto alignment was incredible. Systainers are decent on compatibility in my opinion. There are a few exclusions but for the most part all 3 generations of the regular size fit together. The SYS3 organizers are also a big upgrade over their previous organizers. Many sizes of bins and a grid system to increase placement options of the bins.

Possibly, but just like tools not every brand makes every type of box you may want/need for organization. Having the right tool even if it comes with a new battery platform is worth it to me and I feel the same about tool/hardware organization. Bottom line, none of the systems are perfect so the best solution may be to have a few brands of boxes and a few brands of battery platforms

Theyve got lots of boxes and accessories, and out of ocd id like to stay with just one brand. Toughbuilt is similar and seems to be moving in the same direction. Just because I happened to see this first, I'll say this about systainers . I like the idea of building specific powertool kits. when I grab that box, I know I have the powertool & everything that goes with it without doubling up because the box is big . I've been using them better than 10 years
I've even bought different color TLOCs for different tool brands kaisen foam inserts and custom labels. The one reason I'm moving out of them and into a modular toolbox system is because they're just too fragile, no matter how careful you are with them..

The only thing holding me back from Klein is well it’s orange, it’s for sure harder to stack than stack tech, and it doesn’t have a work top. The work top for me is a big deal…. @@JakeWeihe I've never complained. I'd rather have durability than worry about something that takes 2 seconds extra of my time.

@ghostf779 durability? Flex’s side latches are one of the most damage prone designs. I’ve seen many pictures of broken latches and they are annoying to replace if you can even get a replacement from flex since the warranty is one year.

@@JakeWeihe I guess we'll just have to disagree 🤷‍♂️. I personally just like Flex now. Use to be a Milwaukee guy, but switched over and am happy. Only tool I've complained about is the oscillating multi tool... and that's due to their blades. But I do like their boxes.
