@@franzxaverjosephconradgraf6850 thats a mith cardona stopped austrians from entering venice he won 3 battles most of the battles of the isonzo were minimal advances with heavy casualties but austria was well entrenched in huge mountains full of bunkers also that was the only place reasonable to atack the austrians were well entrenched and the alps were hight mountains not plain terrain like france it was full of mountains and austrains forts and bunkers nobody came with a betterw idea because there was not a better one it was the only thing to do there was no opther option he was not a genius but in terms of performanece he was a average general also the piave defensive line was his idea historians forget to show that the alps were not plain terrain the only reason why hötzendorf defeated cardona was because his troops were well entrenched and cardona troops were forced to front assault

The conference should be more like the Darkest Hour Kaiserreich peace, where you get a bunch of events allowing you to choose what tact you want to take at the peace conference.
Grats on ten years Alex! I only came across you on the Yogs Civ games but then wanted a tutorial for HOI4 and youtube showed you. Only been two years or so but i've really enjoyed your content :)
I love the fact that in this mod the victory (with the part of the focus tree you picked about realising puppets) will look like either basic setup for HOI4 (central powers lose) or Kaiserreich (entente loses)
When he would have played the Austrians ti the bitter end. He would have gotten the decision to reintegrate all of them back into 1 empire.
The number of times Alex looked right at the Entente steamrolling its way back into SE Europe and then just went back to micromanaging the western front as if nothing was going on was truly baffling.
You should give Old World Blues another go. It has had massive amounts of content added since you last played on the channel. I would recommend playing as Lanius's Cohort or Eighties if you do, both are expansionist nations that can be lots of fun. There's also a monarchy in Manitoba, and we know how you feel about playing those.

Hey Alex, just to let you know but navy in great war mod seems kinda broken. Something to do with mods ship types (like dreadnoughts) all being classified as battleships, so when the AI sees the amount of battleships, it retreats as it thinks it will lose, even though the ships are kinda crap. When i played I couldent get a single naval battle
"Strategic Command: European Theatre" is a very basic version of HOI IV. It is a bit old, but can be fun. Still sold on GOG, as far as I know.
You should do a series based on reviewing other WW2/ real time strategy games and finding out the dumbest strats that exist within those realms!

You should a do a mega campaign with imperator Rome, ck2, eu4, march of the eagles, Victoria 3, and hoi4, for your 10th year anniversary.

Well, there is a big turn-based strategy game called "Strategic Command: World War 1", but I don't think it's the best for a video... although it is tons of fun to play.
you need to play supremacy 1914 it is like HOI4 but more simple it is also very fun and you play against real players

Toy Soldiers is a WW1 tower defense game, not sure if you've played that. If you're planning on getting the game get the Complete edition, which includes a German story mode instead of just British.

Try Gary Grigsby's War in the East. Its more complex than Hoi and is turn-based.

No, but seriously, we should do a massive multiplayer match in HOI4 or Crusader Kings or really anything. And we just fight to see what happens. Heck, you could just sit back in spectator mode and just host it. Try to commentate and review the match as your fans spill each others blood for your entrainment.

well for us broke people, we have a game called rise of nations , it's on roblox, but it's actually a good game , faster paced but honestly still a great time
i know it's quite cheesy but... i recommend just doing the meta builds instead of using tanks. the other day i played A-H as well, i played with 30 width infantry/howitzer divisions (9/4s i believe) and i instantly won WW1 by like 1915. it's a lot easier to win a lot earlier by just spamming these out as much as possible, rather than using tanks that are really not great considering the tech takes years to get good at all. this is also without any air support whatsoever. i only produced inf equipment, howitzers, and a bit of support equipment. and won WW1 basically singlehandedly.
