I'd say Fairy Tail is the "comfort food" of anime. An anime where the main cast makes you feel like they're all your friend, a safe place to go to, nobody really dies except maybe a small handful of people, and a lot of fights are won through everyone being close enough friends. When you look at it like that, it kinda melts away whatever irrational anger I had towards it before.
