I never, ever get bored of watching Michael Palin crack up :)
I know right! I think only Monty Python could get away with laughing at their own jokes on stage like this xD
Fucking brilliant comedy.
Me neither. It's impossible
The thing that's making me laugh even more than the sketch is how adorable Michael is when he tries not to crack up :)
I think John's point in this sketch is to make Michael lose it. XD
By the time they did this performance EVERYBODY knew the sketch. The comedy came not only from the sketch its self, but from the interplay between the audience and the actors. John and Michael tried to make each other laugh all the time on stage.
Loved how Palin cracks up constantly, Cleese hammed it up so much
My favorite version of the Dead Parrot Sketch.
The beautiful *red* plumage of the Norwegian *Blue* …
2:02 - the Olympic Sport of Parrot-Bashing
"PINING FOR THE FJORDS?" "
Samie Johnson "THIS IS NOTHING TO LAUGH AT!"
I think it's amazing that they start going crazy when John walks out on stage with a cage. Purely awesome!
2:59 aww Michael is so cute!
THIS IS NOTHING TO LAUGH ABOUT!!!
Total kill joy I grew up with monty python
I think he was paraphrasing the sketch. I'm 'murican and I love this stuff!
Aah, Michael Palin, the most adorable of the Pythons.
One of my most favorite sketches!
I met a 10 yo kid who could recite this word for word. I didn't think younger kids had even heard of Monty Python.
I'm now 14 and was brought up on this stuff... My parents are strange
Aw..michael is so cute in this
Not even a Python could withstand a line as hilariously delivered as "Pinin' for the FEEEE-OOORDS?"
Pinin' for the FJOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORDS?!?
You know it's good when the actors themselves can't contain their laughter
There's just something so satisfying about watching Michael trying to hold in a laugh and then totally corpsing.
John Cleese's voice has really changed over the years during which he was with Monty Python.
I blame the damn dead parrot for that.Making him yelling all those years every time he decided to die and die and die..damn parrot.Never making up his mind..
Shadow07Warrior1989 That's called being HUMAN.
John Cleese had (probably still has) an unbelievable ability to maintain a straight persona while doing some of the funniest jokes and watching everyone else lose it. The only person I've seen handle it better was Ronnie Barker, who appeared to live on another planet where all the hilarious things he was saying made perfect, logical, sensible sense.
Rowan Atkinson is like John in this ability.
I love it the way they just start laughing! 2:58 is the funniest bit.
There's a version, in which Palin concedes it's dead, and refunds John Cleese's money. Then, the sketch ends.
Honestly, I cannot believe that, and it's also totally in character for the Pythons.
I have watched this hundreds of times and I am losing it again and again every time.
I have done permanent damage to myself from laughing far too hard. Awww Michael you poor poor chap but Cleese cracked too
Funny. Every single time. For 40 years... 😜
Stone faced Palin cracking up is my fave bit!!
John cleese never breaks character!
He almost loses it when he says "What kind of talk is that??" (after the second "PINING..")
"This is nothing to laugh at!"
At that point I'd laughed to death if I was as close to laughing as Palin was there =D
The best bit is when Mr. Cleese says "Piining for the fjords,"
Graham Chapman is a genious coming up with not just a parrot, but a Norwegian Blue, and Palin's reference to the fjords... One word: Genious
2:58 I can't lol... I just.. XD I love seeing comedians and actors crack up during an act, it really proves they like it too themselves..
There is one where they do it live and the audience start shouting out the nexts lines and everything, it's hilarious
I cracked up so badly when he was screaming, "TESTING! TESTING!"
2:11 Well he's dead now.
That comment made me crack up even more than the video did.
....PINING FOR THE FJORDS??!!!
No, no, he's stunned.
Pining for the boards. Pine boards.
I started laughing so friggin' hard. Nearly wet myself. Michael is so adorable..,and when he starts to crack up...*LoL* Love it love it love it!
15 people accidentally pressed dislike while laughing their asses of at "Pinin' for the FiijjooOOOOOOOORRDS?!?!?!"
I love that double-take that John does. :D
And them cracking up always cracks me up too.
"I've got a slug"
"does it talk?"
"yes"
"...right I'll have that one then"
I also like;
"I've got a slug"
"Does it talk?"
"well, it mutters a bit"
"Well it's scarcely a replacement for a talking parrot!"
@@AndysRambles Michael Palin was supposed to say no then instead of "it mutters a bit" 🤣 Just like in the lion tamer sketch live before the lumberjack song he said I wanted to be...... "A systems analyst" when he was supposed to just go into the song🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Olympic sport of parrot-bashing.
Michael and John cracking up makes the sketch so much better
Why oh why was the camera not on John when he started laughing?
There isn’t just one camera. Probably two or three
Monty Python to the moon!
classic...nothing else needs to be said, apart from...'Pining for the fjords?!?!?!?!' Love it!!
13 people are berrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreft of life.
My gf saw this sketch once and loved it. More recently, she was reading Dickens' "The Old Curiosity Shop," and couldn't help but think of this sketch when Little Nell died, due to how much ol' Charles put into the moment.
I wonder if this was where Python got the idea?
My most favorite sketch EVER! I could watch it over and over and still laugh! Michael Palin and John Cleese are the best!!!
3:00 Mike is so cute!
Thirteen people purchased dead parrots from that very boutique.
I can't believe Cleese actually laughed 🤣🤣He's usually so depressed
Lol John takes no notice and carries on with the sketch. A true professional rofllmao!!! Mikey is so cute when he laughs!
I so love when John says "This is nothing to laugh at!"
He also smiled a little in his Biggus Dickus speech... but yeah I can't watch Python for ten seconds without smiling...
John Cleese does an amazing job keeping a straight face while being completely ridiculous.
Seen it about a hundred times, already know it word by word, still keeps me cracking up. Such a terrific acting, i just cant get enough from MP!
When Palin looses it it's priceless
LOL one of the best Monty Python skits EVER
michael is so beautiful and his laugh oh god
"Piiiiinin' for the fjorrrrrrrrrrds?!"
OMG this might be even funnier than the one on the show! Olympic parrot bashing from John, as well as some A+ corpsing :)
I'd seen the clip of Michael cracking up before, but never the whole live sketch! THANK YOU for uploading it!
It would be such an honor to make either of these guys break character.
i love it when john cleese enters with the parrot cage and says ''i wish to register a complain" - and the crowd just goes WILD!
I love how Michael is trying not to crack up. John's just on fire in this one.
even after all these years it never get old... timeless
they're both great in this. later on mike tells john that the slug mutters a bit and he loses it too. oh what a laugh!! this version is better than the original!!
People really loved these guys back in the day.
And still do.
Hahaahhaaah, this is one of my favourite Monty Python sketches. I've never seen this stage version before... I love it!!! :-D
I... LOVE... MONTY PYTHON!!! These guys are amazing!
This is one of my favorites. The first one I knew all the words for (besides the Spam song).
LUVS!!!
I love that Palin is so amused by Cleese.
However he almost lost it when he saw Palin trying to hold in his laugther, Great skit...shows how skilled they are at comedy
It's a rare happening for John Cleese to crack up during a sketch. That proves the true power of Monty Python!
properly the best humor in the world..
man it's funny, has there ever been a show where cleese cracks up
13 people aren't just resting.
Yes, the Parrot Sketch is my favorite!
Love palin cracking up
monty python has given me the best laughs ever *STATMENT, QUOTE, LIFESTYLE AND RELIGION*
Palin's big payback was the scene in Life of Brian, commonly know as the "Giggling Guards."
you know your good at makeing people laugh when the actors cant hold it in
What a madman (John Cheese)
I am sure Monty Python appreciates your feedback, you should tell them to change the names of all the other sketches as well!
This will never not be funny.
Well Done!
Good improbe on Cleese's part, Michael almost lost it and he covered by saying "this is nothing to laugh at". Good show
This my favourite version of the parrot sketch makes me laugh every time!!
Mike estaba en su mejor momento. Guapo.Joven.
Michael's so cute here:)
Ooh, I just love it...
Lovely skech, properly one of the best humor in the World ;)
Fantastic!
Ah, it happens to the best of us every now and again
1:06
The guy who laughs in the background always gets me XD
I love the part where Michael Palin cracks up.
immense
oh, i love them! and you can hear john cleese start to laugh a little at 3:14
LOL, poor Mike, you can see him trying not to laugh for so long. =]
