Understanding Pentecost and the Feast of Weeks

- Fifty days after the Savior had been resurrected, the disciples gathered in Jerusalem for the Feast of Weeks or Shavuot. This important feast commemorated when Moses received the Law on Mount Sinai. As the disciples celebrated with tens of thousands of other Jews from around the world, the Holy Spirit came down upon the disciples as flames of fire. Today this is known as the day of Pentecost. As we better understand the historical background of the feasts, we can gain greater insight into the importance of Pentecost and our own worship of the Lord.

I’m a extremely devout Messianic Jew all I do is study and it really showed when me and my grandfather who is in his 70’s he fought in Vietnam and he is very intelligent and is well studied on most religions, cultures, etc but my grandfather and my 2 cousins and me when on a trip to a city which is a 4 hour drive from where we live and the whole trip my grandfather and me talked and exchanged knowledge about other places but when we came to the Bible we were tied in our knowledge aside from some Hebrew I taught him by the way I was only 12 at the time now I’m 13 but only him, my younger cousin, and me are the only one who keep the practices of the Jews and we believe in Yeshua as the Messiah.

I thought... because that's what I heard. I won't understand the bible or like it, because it just says WHAT YOU CAN'T DO. MAN left out WHAT GOD CAN DO. I pray we need to put our phones face down daily, forget mans way, pick up the BIBLE, read, and allow the holy spirit to complete you through his amazing LOVE letter to us. The Keys to his kingdom. Exactly how not to misbehave, repercussions if your NOT willing to have your heart and mind agree on him... ALWAYS! But more so ALL the BLESSING for those WHOM DO!! God of Truth and Wisdom, set your children free from the devils disguise, lies, blame, shame. Our God is no GAME you can CHEAT. I Pray for us all to have the brain change and stop giving brain mans ways.

Excellent video. Very timely for me as I commenced a daily Bible reading plan (read the Bible in 1 year). I’m on day 63 of my reading plan, (mid-way through Deuteronomy) and I’m really enjoying the story of God’s deliverance of his people. I would like to join a church after ”lockdown” eases. My sim is to get baptised when the time is right,
possibly next Easter.

Messages of Christ I’m not sure just yet. I’m more of a traditionalist therefore, possibly a traditional church with a traditional service and hymns. I’ve never been baptised therefore that would be an important consideration (full immersion). Also, a church set up with house groups, where Bible study is a regular activity of the church members.

I had a dream I had all these ceiling fans all over my house. There was a several in every room spinning around on the ceiling .. I asked my husband in the dream why are these here !?! Who put these here ? When I woke up I searched for the word “fan” in the bible and I found “he will fan them and winnow them and carry them away “ I started to research this and I found that winnowing has to do with harvesting wheat. I still can’t believe it !! I’m not a farm person I had no idea about this ... what do you think about this ? When does wheat 🌾 winnowing happen ?
Thank you for putting this together! Many Christians are still trying to live without Holy Spirit. We need movements to bring this kind of study and understanding of the feasts God commanded us to commemorate into Christian culture. We need to seek and ask God to give us wisdom and understanding regarding the spiritual significance of these feasts/days.

I plan on the US getting nuked on May 26 daytime. That’s 40 days after Passover and ten days before Pentecost.
@@messagesofChrist Pentecost/ Shavout/Feast of Weeks, all the same meaning, same day. It is a day of harvest/reaping of wheat. Two loaves of bread made with yeast gets waived in all 4 directions, north, south, east and west(4 corners of the earth).As well as up and done, referring to heaven and earth.
Remember believers are called wheat. Unbelievers are the tares(weeds), they both get gathered up at Christ’s return. And believers who are on the earth will get raptured and meet the saints that have gone before us, then we shall all be together forever. That would fulfill all the directions of the 2 loaves of bread being waved, first all the believers on the earth(north, south, east, west) then the vertical aspect of heaven and earth, being with the saints who have been in heaven.
Matt 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
I said Feast of Tabernacles, not Weeks.
